What is the "net" part of my skirt pattern?
I'm making a dress using Simplicity pattern #2072, which is comprised of a bodice, midriff, and skirt section. I'm cutting my fabric when I realized I don't have the fabric for the "net" portion of the pattern. There'a the actual dress fabric and the lining, so what is this "net"?
1 AnswerFashion & Accessories9 years agoHow to stop "My Computer" from opening at startup?
Everytime I boot-up my computer, the "My Computer" folder opens. I've looked up how to solve this, but there's nothing in my Startup folder, my Userinit registry value is C:\Windows\system32\userinit.exe, I've restarted my computer in selective startup mode (with both services and startup items being tested), and my folder options are not set to restore open windows at computer restart.
Any help on how to solve this would be greatly appreciated!
2 AnswersDesktops9 years agoWhat are the "flaps" on a blueberry called?
Is there a scientific or culinary name for the "flaps" on a blueberry? On the actual berry itself, on the opposite side as where the stem was during the growing period, there are 5 or 6 little pieces of skin that make a circle. What are these pieces of skin called?

2 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoDifferential Equations Question (Help setting up the initial step, please!)?
The population of bacteria in a culture grows at a rate that is proportional to the number of bacteria
present at time t. After three hours, it is observed that 400 bacteria are present. After ten hours, the
number of bacteria present had grown to 2000. Write and solve an initial value problem to determine
the initial number of bacteria in the culture.
I know how to solve for the answer once I have an equation. I just can't seem to figure out the actual equation. If we let t= time in hours, and b(t) is the function of bacteria at time t, then b(3)= 400 and b(10)= 2000. I know that I need db(t)/ dt=, but what it equals, I'm not sure.
1 AnswerHomework Help1 decade agoIs the square root of (25-x^2) simplify to (5-x)?
Once again, algebra is kicking my butt today. To clarify, x is the variable, the entire quantity 25-x^2 is under the square root sign, and x^2 signifies "x- squared."
7 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoWhat is 2x2h+2x2h? Help me with basic algebra!?
Algebra seems to be kicking my butt at the moment (I'm taking college calculus, though)... I think it'll combine to 4x4h, but I'm not sure.

8 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoWhere can I find an industrial/ heavy-duty lunchbox?
Preferably made out of heavy-duty black plastic. Aladdin Lunchboxes used to make a model, but they no longer have it on their website. The old one I have is shaped kind of like a dome lunchbox, but is plastic, looks like it belongs on a construction site, and has two latches on the front.
3 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoWhat to do with the college search now?
I'm a bit lost with all this college mumbo-jumbo. I'm a senior this year, 4.0 GPA, National Merit Scholar (still pending), have bunches of colleges sending me letters and e-mails, and lots of extra-curriculars.
But I don't know what I want to major in, where to look for schools around me, or anything like that. I need help figuring out where to find colleges based on available majors/minors, cost, location, etc. Any help or advice?

1 AnswerOther - Electronics1 decade agoDoes anyone have any online sources for authentic Japanese recipes?
I've tried to search for yakisoba, and there are a bunch of American-ized versions. This has been happening with pretty much every Japanese dish I want to prepare, and I'm just wondering if someone out there has authentic Japanese recipes online. Thank you!

1 AnswerMusic1 decade agoKorbel Commercial Music?
I'm not sure if the Korbel Champagne commercial plays everywhere in the US, but if anyone's seen it, I was wondering what the song that plays in it is. I think some of the lyrics are "Walk with me across the ocean floor...", and it's a really pretty song. Any help would be appreciated! ^_^
2 AnswersTelevision1 decade agoIs there an online resource that will allow for you to input text and get the number of the same words used?
Not the number of characters in a document, but the actual words used? i.e.: "The cat jumped over the dog." The word "the" was used twice in that sentance. "Cat" was used once, "jumped" once, etc.
