  • Why do supporters of government healthcare think that the governement will be able to do this well?

I really want to understand this, so if you're a supporter of the idea, please help. The government doesn't seem to do ANYTHING well... think the DMV, the IRS, the Postal Service, Cash for Clunkers... how can you believe that if the government gets it's hands on healthcare it will be able to do it well?

  • Is Obama a communist?

After hearing Obama's response to Joe the Plumber, explaining to him that those who earn more money need to "share the wealth", please tell me why I shouldn't assume that if our country is lead by Obama we won't become a socialist/communist nation?

  • Help me understand something about the way liberals think...?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but most liberals are very passionate about the environment and the safety and well-being of animals. How do you reconcile that concern for plant and animal life with your equally passionate belief that women should have the right to terminate a pregnancy at any stage? A baby in his/her mother's womb has a detectable heart beat at 5-6 weeks - that is life. But that life has no value, and trees and animals do? These beliefs just don't make sense to me. Please help me understand.

  • High fiber diet for weight loss? And experiences with this?

I've been doing some research on using a high fiber diet (35+ grams a day) and fiber supplements (like glucomannan) to lose weight. Anyone have a successful experience with this? Please include how many grams of fiber a day you consumed, what supplements you took, and how much weight you lost. Thank you!

  • Natural remedies/herbs for a sluggish thyroid?

I believe I may have a underactive thyroid. I have many of the symptoms, but I don't want to go on a synthetic drug and be stuck on it for the rest of my life. Is there anyone here who has tried any natural or herbal remedies for a sluggish thyroid? Did it help? Thank you for any responses.

  • This is a kind of poll, regarding men. If two (heterosexual) guys were going on a camping trip together...?

what do you think the average/normal length of the trip would be? Both are married, one has children. Also, same two guys, if they get together aprox. 3-4 times a month to play video games, what do you think the average/normal number of hours spent playing in one evening would be? I'm being accused of being a nagging wife, and if I am being unfair, I'd be willing to admit it and let it go. Maybe I'm just jealous because I'm a stay at home mom and I don't get to take off and hang out with a friend for hours on end. On the other hand, maybe the time they spend together is excessive. I just want other people's idea of what's normal. Any men who read this, I'm especially interested in what you might think. Thank you for your time!
