  • Paging Dr. House for dogs! My dog is ill?

I will preface this by saying that I HAVE been to many good vets, including a neurologist, and holistic vet, and UGA vet school.

My 11 year old beagle, George, is sick.

This is a list of symptoms, what tests have been preformed, and what has been ruled out by several different vets.

-Wobbly, muscle weakness, loss of appetite (all developed progressively in last 6 months)

-he currently is taking 10mg prednisone which helps a little with his appetite and wobblyness

    -no noticeable pain

-MRI and full body x-ray showed NO tumors

-spinal tap showed no autoimmune disease

-Complete blood count came back normal

    -tested negative for myasthenias gravis

    -tested negative for Addison's disease

-only eats apple sauce, yogurt, babyfood and dehydrated chicken strips (and baby vitamins (iron free) i squirt down his throat)

    - I understand that it sounds like a neurological or autoimmune problem, but my question is "which one?"

-He does not exhibit the symptoms of Cushings

Now I know that 11 years old is pretty old.. but this is not just old age kicking in. There is something wrong with him, and nobody can figure it out!!

Please help or make suggestions if this sounds like something you have seen or experienced!

  • My dog is wobbly, whats wrong?

FIRST OF ALL, I HAVE taken him to the vet 5 times over the last 3 months, but the vet is stumped.

    Background:

    11 year old Beagle

3 months ago started experiencing head shakes (reminds me of the way a person with Parkinson's shakes).

The shakes are increasingly worse, but now his entire balance is out of wack. He cannot take walks for two long or he practically falls over. His appetite is below normal, but he will eat if i make him some homemade food (like meat, veggies, etc). Personality is the same.Bathroom functions are the same. No head tilt. No eye problems. Ears are fine. Teeth are fine. Blood panel came back clear. Doctor does not think it is brain cancer based on some neurological tests he did.

Vet thinks it could be myasthenias gravis (which he admits is a very rare thing.. personally I think he is trying to play Dr. House on my dog), I think it could be Addison's. Neither of which can be determined by the blood panel. Both tests are about $200 and have a likely hood of not being accurate.

Before I choose which test to run, I would like to get some feedback from anybody out there who has seen this in a dog.

    Thank you in advance.

  • I need a dress to wear to a wedding...?

I need to find some websites online other than the following:

    nordstroms

    dillards

    urban outfitters

    macys

    jcpenny

    jcrew

    delias

    dresses.com

    target.com

    gap and old navy

    banana republic

    hollister

    wet seal

I need to shop online because I have no time to shop in the stores. Does anybody have any other websites that they recommend that sells dresses at a decent price. I only want to spend at the most $100.

any recommendations would be much appreciated

  • Do any of you college students work from home?

I posted a similar question in the careers and busines questions, and all i got were a lot of scams.

    Question:

To you college students, do any of you work from home, and if so, can you point me in the direction so I can also work from home?

I am so sick of working in the service industry, but my classes do not allow me to have a normal work schedule.

  • I need a job with flexible hours where I can work from home....?

I am a student, and I am SICK of working in restaurants... and my school schedule is all over the place.

Does anybody know of a good legitimate company to work for that will hire you to work from home with flexible hours?

I don't want to do the survey things, or any of those other silly jobs....

    Thanks!!

  • Who else hates taking showers?

I really hate them. It's such an unavoidable and long process. I hate them, yet I hate being greasy.

I dread them. When I wake up in the morning... the first thing i think is "oh great time for an effin shower."

I try the night showers.. but I am just so tired when I get home I just cannot bring myself to do "the process."

    Who is with me?
