  • Can anyone tell me a good movie/documentary about joining the military and boot camp/deployment?

My daughter is interested in possibly joining the military(unsure what branch yet) and we were wanting to find a movie or documentary that shows what it's like joining and afterwards. Something to show the struggles and expectations but also the sense of achievment and the cromraderie formed with other recruits. Hopefully something to stream on Netflix or amazon prime. But any suggestions would be great.

  • When temporarily blocking off a light switch fixture, should I separate and cap the white wires individually?

I'm about to put a solid decorative plate over an old light-switch fixture that we don't want used right now. I removed the old switch and was going to cap off the wires. The white wires that run through are capped together and I was wondering if I should separate them if I'm going to be letting the fixture sit unused for a while.

  • Question about old DDR SDRAM memory chips.?

I have an old Dell Deminsion 8300 desktop. Its upgradable to 4gb DDR SDRAM 400 PC3200. Right now it has 2 256mb and 1 512mb chips installed. Im ordering 2 1gb chips now. Question is... I install the 2 1gb chips in the first 2 slots, what chips should i use in the other 2 slots, should i just put the 1 512 back in, or pair the 2 256's, or can i use the 1 512 and 1 256? i read somewhere for DDR2 ram that its best to have them paired with same chipset. not sure if DDR follows the same rule. would the paired 256's run better than the single 512. im sure the ones inside right now are all PC3200, as are the ones i just ordered.Sorry if his sounds confusing, and thanks for any answers.

  • Having trouble getting a new ATI Radeon HD 4650 AGP 1GB graphics card installed.?

I have it inserted with no problem, hooked up with my DVI cable, when I boot up, windows loads and as it starts auto-detecting devices, it gets to "Microsoft UAA High Definition Audio Device". Then my computer just gets bogged down to 100% CPU usage and cant click anything, or bring up cntl alt del. After a few reboots, i decided to let it sit for a while loading the Microsoft UAA thing. after about a half hour of it doing nothing, i gave up. reinstalled my old card and booted with no problems. I removed all drivers for my old card, but don't ever get a chance to load drivers for the new card since it stops at the UAA thing and cant click anything. I tried downloading and running the ATI Catalyst drivers, but it wont let me load any drivers while the ati card isn't in there.

To make problems worse, NOW when i reinstalled the ATI to try again, I just get a black background when windows loads, No desktop icons or task bar. Just the Mouse appears and can still move it. And after a few seconds, the computer acts bogged down again like its still trying to load the UAA thing, even tho I cant see anything loading. So now I don't really know what to do.

    My comp Specs are:

    Old Dell Dimension 8300

    1gb ram

    Pentium 4 3ghz HT

Old graphics card is an nVidia 5500 or 5800, cant remember, 256mb AGP

  • What are the laws concerning a stepparent adoption?

I just recently married and my wife has a daughter age 14. The bio father has had nothing to do with them in all that time and my wife receives NO money for her daughter ever. Wanted to know what the laws were on adopting her daughter as the stepfather. Does my wife still need to get permission from the bio father even though he's never been a part of their lives? And how much does an adoption like this typically cost in louisiana?

  • My 7 month old dog has a pink swollen spot in her eye near where the tear duct would be. What is it?

The Spot looks like a pink blister. Seems to be puss filled. She had it about 2 months ago and it went away in about 3 days. This time it's been over a week and seems to be pussing, possibly bleeding a little. We cant afford a vet bill currently, and was hopeing to get an idea as to what is causing it here. She is a chihuahua/terrier mix, so already has bulging eyes as it is. Maybe its a common thing from those type of dogs?

  • '92 Jeep Cherokee(automatic) Sputtering then cuts out...?

My '92 Jeep Cherokee recently started cutting out on me often. It will sputter down to low RPMs and then cut. Happens even while driving(was going 35 down a road and it sputtered, turned off and it died before i got to a stop). To get it started again, I let it sit for a few minutes, then i need to turn the key and keep giving gas till it catches and goes. The starter turns just fine. I just changed the fuel filter. Gas on the IN side of old filter when i drained it was murky brown. Nice and clear when draining on the OUT side of old filter. I added some fuel cleaner and some HEET(water remover, just in case). The engine still does it. Seems worse now. One thing I noticed. When stopped at a light, holding brake, giving no gas, the RPMs went up a good bit, then back down, sputtered and died. I just sat there holding brake all the while. It does it in park as well. Any ideas out there? I know nothing about car troubles...

I ramble alot, but trying to get as much info in as i can.
