  • Inner safe place and meditation?

    I've recently started meditating and I've been doing this exercise but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. I have to imagine my own inner safe place where I can feel safe and secure. The instructions say that it can be a eral or imaginary place, but it must be in nature. I experimented with various "real" spaces and they just didn't seem right. Then I invented a fantasy world and I feel good about it, but the thing is, it's always night time there. People usually have sunny and warm inner sanctuaries, full of light, so I'm not sure if mine should be like that as well. I tried to insert more light and sun, but I don't really feel comfortable with all the light around me. I don't know if my choice of the sanctuary reflects the darkness inside me, or it's just that night seems more calming to me. Is it ok that my inner space is not full of light, or am I just blocking the light from coming into my life?
