I recently found out I had a leak in a brake line. I took it to a mechanic and they replaced the brake line for me. ($700). Then I got the car back and now my brakes are making a hissing noise when I apply them. The pressure is very good in the pedal. I don't have to press down much for the car to stop. The mechanic told me "the brake booster is probably going to go down the line". What the hell does that mean? Is is dangerous to be driving it like this? It's a 2000 pontiac sunfire. The car stops fine but its hissing from the pedal area. I can't afford to get it fixed right now and am wondering if it is dangerous to drive like this or if I can go a couple of weeks. If you have an explanation for why it could be doing this, that would be great. Also, a ballpark for how much it would cost to replace.

I'm having brake troubles. I noticed a hissing sound coming from the brake pedal a day or so ago. Then I noticed that when I put pressure on the brake pedal (to stop obviously) the pedal drops to the floor. The car eventually comes to a stop but takes a long distance and time and is really scary. Got home ok and checked the brake fluid and there wasn't any in there. My mechanic two weeks ago said my fluid was low so he filled it for me. What could be going on here? Obviously I have a leak somewhere, but what could be making that hissing noise? Also, how much do you ballpark it will be to fix?

Please help. I suffer from terrible anxiety and some OCD as well. I am absolutely freaking out about dying. I am only 20 years young and feel like, yeah, I have many years ahead of me, but I'm still going to die someday and that is going to be terrible. I feel as if I could have a tumor in my brain right now. I am a hypochondriac. I have several intense fears. With finals this week, and wanting to be normal, I am wondering what I can do. These terrible thoughts of death and dying and going crazy and getting a terminal illness are all ruining my life. Its all I can think about. What can I do?

I know what I believe but I do not know what religion I am. I believe in God but my definition of God is not a person but instead a force of nature in which all living things have a balance and harmony. I believe in respect for all people and religions and that men and women should be treated equally. I believe that there is a spiritual afterlife but not necessarily a heaven and I don't believe in hell. What religions do I seem to believe in?

Alright so whenever I am with other people, meaning not by myself, I feel completely awkward and don't know how to compose myself. I come off sarcastic and aloof but that's not how I want people to see me. I am ok with a group of guys but if there is a girl or more in the crowd I feel just utterly useless. I am too aware of myself and am very conscious of my every move. I hate girls. I don't know how I can handle myself so that I can make some more friends because I have none and I am in college now....

My car just started doing this. When I am idling in park, i hear a hissing noise coming from the passenger side of the engine. The rpms jump up and down and it sounds like my car is going to shut off. I brought it to a mechanic who took a quick look and said there wasn't anything loose or falling off as far as he could tell. What could be the problem? I know I have a power steering leak but I'm not using the wheel when idling......help an ignorant girl out, will ya? What could be the issue?

Could I pull that color off with my skin tone? She has dark eyebrows too, so I was thinking it would look ok. How would I go about doing this on my own. I'm not going to a salon so don't even say that. Would I look good with it??

I have been doing atkins for a few weeks and so far I have lost ten pounds and feel great! I was surprised this morning, however, when I got on the scale and weighed nearly a pound more than yesterday. I usually lose about a half a pound to a pound a day and I don't understand what I did wrong. I ate the same amount of carbs I eat every day yesterday. What would explain this sudden change in pattern?

I began taking 50mg of Zoloft today and I realize that some nausea at first is to be expected. I am taking it for OCD and anxiety and one of my biggest phobias is throwing up...so I am REALLY looking forward to this stopping because right now it is only making things worse. When can I expect it to go away?

My boyfriend texts me this morning and says I need to think of something profound about anything I want something that he has never heard before and say it to him tonight when I see him. WTF does that even mean. I googled "profound things to say" and I came up with "can a person cry underwater?" and stuff like that. I doubt that's what he meant. I have no idea why he is giving me a homework assignment or what the hell he even means....help?

I am a receptionist and I swear I have like three job responsiblities. I just have to answer the phone when it rings (about four times an hour) and occasionally I have to check addresses or a phone number on whitepages. Other than that I have NOTHING to do and my shifts are eight and half hours long. I get so incredibly bored. I do have a computer I can use for checking numbers but I am not supposed to use it for personal reasons. My boss expects me to constantly be working on something or "keeping busy" when there is nothing to "keep busy" with. I have tried to ask for more to do and they give me a project like making five copies....ok....now what? So I'm not allowed to read or anything. How the heck can I survive my boring job? Tips would be great. I do this five days a week so forty hours a week of nothingness. I feel so unimportant and useless. Should I just get another job? I feel bad though because mine is so easy...

Hello. My car (2000 pontiac sunfire) seems to be taking a longer and longer time to come to a complete stop when I apply the breaks. There are no sounds coming from the car. What could be wrong here? Also, how much would getting that fixed cost?

Side question, can you buy parts at a store and then bring those parts to a mechanic and tell him to use them, or do mechanics not do that and will be pissed/hike the price of labor??

I have been in a six or so week program at a local hospital. I go every tuesday and I have to miss work for a few hours when I go. At first, my boss didn't care and I only told him that I "was going to the doctors for an appointment". I have a psychological disorder and that is why I am in counseling. He today told me that I need to get a doctor's note for all these lost hours and before I go anymore or else I am going to be fired. I am nervous because I don't even know if you can get a doc note from a therapist and if she DOES write me one, he can just google her name and see I'm in therapy. He calls everyone that is a little different "crazy" or "weirdos" or "freaks" I feel like if he knew I could get fired. I don't want everyone I work with thinking that I am crazy either.

What can I do?
