I am a sophomore that currently lives in Iowa (I was born in CA and go there twice a year). I really want to go to college in California, particularly for journalism or something else that has to do with writing/reporting. I was wondering what colleges would be best?

I think I have a decent shot of getting in somewhere, I have a 3.9 GPA and am involved in chamber choir, show choir, am an editor for the school's newspaper, and am also in Spanish Club. I plan to take four years of math and english and got a 24 on my PSAT.. are there any things I could do to prepare for a certain college?

I would say I'm interested in either UCLA, CSU, or Stanford but I need to know what schools are best for journalism first.

So last year I was eating chicken strips and my friend said something to make me laugh really hard and a tiny piece (smaller than a pea) felt like it got lodged in the back of my throat and I could feel it for a few days then one day I sneezed and a tiny white chunk came out of my mouth. I had no clue what it was. But this year it has happened two or three other times, I either sneeze or cough and it comes out. What's wrong with me? Do I have cryptic tonsils? (Nothing else seems to be wrong with me except for the symptom described above happening from time to time)

I have had side bangs for about three years now but this past summer they've grown out and even if I trim them or part my hair waaay to the side it doesn't work :( I used to have awesome bangs and now it looks like an awkward layer in my hair. Please help! Also if I try to do a deep side part instead of forming bangs my hair just kind of flops back to the other side! I'm planning to get a haircut soon anyway, so what should I tell my stylist?

Hi, I'm having trouble remembering the name of a certain camera. Recently there were commercials for it and it looks like a professional camera you would do photography with but it's really a digital camera.. its black and at the end of the commercial they reveal that the whole commercial was shot using that camera. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? It may be by Nikon or Canon.. I don't remember. Please help!

So I was wondering, was Stevie Nicks considered part of the disco era? If not, who are some famous female singers that I could dress up as? So, my boyfriend and I have been dating for about a month and I just don't see this relationship going anywhere. He's so sweet and nice and smart but I don't really like him like I thought I did. The main problem is that he's so shy and he NEVER comes up to me and talks to me, and if I go to talk to him, we don't even really have a big conversation or anything. Plus I hardly see him at school because he is in all advanced classes and is a grade above me. Also whenever we hang out I almost dread it because it's SO BORING because he can't hold an interesting conversation! Also whenever we talk it's usually through text and I think that's so lame. The biggest problem however, is my mom. I tried to talk to her about how I felt, and she said she was very disappointed with me and that she was ashamed that I would do that because our families sort of know each other and go to the same church. But I don't undersand why because it's my decision! I'm just struggling with this situation because I still want to be friends with him but I don't want to spend any more time feeling upset and bored that I'm still in a relationship with him because I want to move on and have zero feelings for him anymore. Plus I don't want my mom to be mad at me or it to be awkward around him/his family/his friends. Please, please, please help.

Okay, so there's a guy I've known for about 4 years (our families are friends and everything) who I have recently been sort of "dating" (we've hung out like 4 times). We're not in a relationship or anything though. I'm a freshman and he is a sophomore. However I've recently gotten to know one of his friends who is a senior. And he is simply put, amazing. He's funny and nice and musically inclined and I can't stop thinking about him. I've known him all year but just recently started hanging out with him (when I'm with the first guy) a few weeks ago. I don't know why but something about him just intrigues me and I really like him. He's not a creeper or anything so please don't say "oh you're too young to date him and if he does he's just out for sex". Because that is not the answer at all.

So I don't know what to do. Because I don't like the first guy as much anymore, but I don't want to crush him or create tension in the future. But I'm truly falling for this other guy. Please help and understand I'm not boy crazy or anything, this is the first time anything like this has ever happened to me.

Also, there is a junior who is the second guy's ex girlfriend who wants to get back together with him and I don't know if he wants to get back together with her! So how do I show him that I'm the right girl for him? I'm a mature, intelligent person who has similar musical interests as him as well.

Well the last time I remember having it for sure was during 5th period study hall. I'm almost positive I had it during the next period, US History. Well when I went to 7th period I noticed it was missing. So I went back to the US History room... it wasn't there. I asked my US History Teacher and also the main office if they had seen it, no one had. I also posted the information on Facebook to try and get the news out, but I'm really bummed. Also, it's a Friday so I'm thinking that maybe someone (if they found it) will bring it back next week.

So is there anything else I can do? Has this ever happened to you? Please help. Thanks.

So last semester I had a B in Geometry, but this semester I thought I understood things again, but then the next thing I know, I have a D+. So obviously I don't. I'm really sad and upset about this because normally I'm a straight-A student, but I just don't understand Geometry. I know I should go to the tutor, but I'm really embarrassed about it. I don't know why I'm not understanding everything. So what should I do? Please help me!

Also, I have parent teacher conferences at the end of the month... do you think I could bring my grade up a bit by then?

Hi, I recently got an iPod Touch. The only problem I'm having is that whenever I want to access something that requires WiFi (Facebook, Safari, etc.) a little window pops up with a WiFi thing called NETGEAR. It's locked and says I have to use a password to access whatever website I'm trying to get to, I have no clue what that password is. Does anyone know what it is or where I can find it? Thanks.

So, I REALLY need to find some places to get a winter formal dress. The only department stores we have where I live are Dillard's, Younker's, JC Penney's, and Von Maur. We don't have a Nordstrom or Macy's. So if anyone could, please help me find a dress from one of those stores! I have medium-brown hair, brown eyes, and olive skin. My preferred colors are burgundy, purple, and gold. Also, is black an okay color? Thank you :)

Okay, recently I got a few pimples on my right cheek. No big deal, whatever. I popped them using a washcloth soaked with warm water and they looked like they were fading away. Then, I just got dry skin in a circle around one of the pimples. Over the last couple days, I've been getting super dry skin ALL OVER the right side of my face. Even on my forehead, my brow bone, my eyelid, under and around my eyes, all over my cheek and around my mouth! Now its starting to peel so there's some patches of skin that are really soft but I want my whole face to be soft!

The weirdest thing is that the left side is completely fine. But I'm really confused, did the pimples start this? Or is it just a coincidence, because we've been having REALLY cold weather where I live (we've had 2 1/2 snow days already!!) so my face usually gets dry because of that. But I need help, so please give me advice on how to make my skin soft agin! Thanks.

I have naturally wavy brown hair with caramel highlights. It's pretty long, it goes down to the top of my ribs. I also have layers and side bangs. Anyway, I can't just leave my hair wavy when I get out of the shower, it gets all frizzy and kinky. Normally I straighten it, but I was wondering how I could give it stylish, loose waves but not look like I just rolled out of bed. And NO SCRUNCHING, I do scrunch my hair once in awhile, but it looks like I have a tonnn of product in my hair.

So please help :)

PS: Any home remedies for anti-frizz would be helpful too!

Okay, so I'm a freshman and this guy is a junior. I've vaguely known him since I was really little because my brother (who is also a junior) is friends with him. Well today he randomly started talking to me on Facebook and he gave me his number. He also gave me a lot of compliments like he said I was "very beautiful and smart".

I kinda like him, but I don't really know. He asked me to send a picture of me to him, but I don't know. Why do guys do that?
