Why are millions of American boys afraid of of "looking gay"?
What's with "gay" swimsuit paranoia? Why do they voluntarily wear goofy looking and uncomfortable baggy pants for swimming instead of practical briefs?

5 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoWhy are some girls' shorts still called, "BOY SHORTS" now that most boys are afraid to wear real shorts?
I know they got the name because they look like the swimsuits American boys wore in the '30s, '40s, '50s, '60s, '70s and '80s (before ridiculous baggy bathing pants became required by the fashion police) but why are they still called BOY SHORTS now that very few boys and men dare to wear a sensible swimsuit in public?

5 AnswersOther - Beauty & Style1 decade agoCan you explain something about My Answers?
When I go to my profile and look at all my answers, I see some Questions marked, "Open", some marked, "In Voting", some marked, "Resolved", and a few marked, "Best Answer".
But some Questions (that I've answered) are not marked any of these.
Do you know why?
6 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoOn TV, why do people only remove shoes and socks before jumping in to save someone?
In Boy Scouts, we were taught to strip to underwear because any more clothing would make it hard to swim. And why do so many guys wear baggy bathing pants for swimming nowadays?

2 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoWhy isn't Obama criticized for his actual shortcomings?
We see many "questions" that are actually childish attacks on his character, but few - if any - that address issues on which he's actually vulnerable.
Is this because there are no intelligent conservatives posting here?
15 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy do Democrats refuse to admit Obama's not the "second coming"?
On the wingnut side we hear all sorts of nonsense like, Obama's a commie, nudie, Muslim, alien, etc. Anybody with half a brain knows that stuff is just silly.
But why aren't Democrats noticing his health plan is a giveaway to big business? Why don't they care about the fact that he's a product of the corrupt Daley machine? Why aren't they asking when he's going to stop occupying Iraq?

2 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoWhy does the Mayan calendar end in 2012?
1) Their Gods told them that the world will end then.
2) To compete with other hare-brained end-of-world theories.
3) They carved the calendar on a big round flat rock, and the sculptor ran out of room when he came to 2012.
13 AnswersMythology & Folklore1 decade agoWhy do so many Americans have a problem with the human body?
I keep seeing questions about being afraid to change clothes in locker rooms, fear and loathing of men in swimsuits, and other remarks that indicate Americans have become extremely prudish. Can anyone explain why?
