I'm a down to earth guy, love to travel, study, learn and understand different cultures. I have been to several different countries, but there is a whole world out there that I haven't seen yet. I've completed my masters degree and I'm working in the midwest (USA) and have the dream to start my own business.
excel question, what formula do I use to take one cell that says, Kansas City, MO and the next cell pull MO?
I'd like to pull the state date from a cell that contains the city and state.
1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoI'm looking and constructing an off-grid wind power system what do I need?
I estimate 800kwh of usage per month and I'm looking to purchase everything I'll need. I like the reviews on the Skystream Land 240 VAC Wind Turbine, I guess I'd need two of them, what else will I need to make this system operational?
2 AnswersEngineering1 decade agoMy wife and I are having our expecting our first child, how real are the flu shot dangers of "autism"?
Our doctor told my wife at the last meeting that she's recommending all of her patients to get both the regular flu shot and the H1N1 shots. I'm very concerned about the risk of autism associated with those shots, any links and information would be very much appreciated.
9 AnswersInfectious Diseases1 decade agoAny programs to help with Medical Expenses for the unemployed?
My wife is six months pregnant and she worked for a small company (20 employees) for 18 months and was laid off yesterday. I'm assuming she will loose her insurance and/or need to go on COBRA are there any programs to help people in a such a situation. We've never asked anything from anyone our entire lives but I'm starting to get worried, we could survive on my salary and unemployment (60% of her wage I guess) until the baby arrives, but I'm scared that we may have huge medical bills for the baby delivery. It doesn't look likely in this job market that any company will hire a woman that's six months pregnant.
1 AnswerHealth Care1 decade agoDoes anyone really think tax increases (a.k.a. cap and trade) creates jobs?
Just curious if anyone actually believes the crap they are fed, or can anyone think for themselves? Feel free to mention economic theory or case studies. Or when one really thinks about it is increasing taxes on all energy really increase the cost of all products (bread needs to be shipped and distributed right, etc.)?
7 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIs anyone suprised Obama was lying about not raising taxes (if you made under 250k yada yada yada)?
He said it a over and over for two years, I'm just curious if ANYONE is surprised. Why then will the cap and tax plan increase the cost of energy, health care reform tax health benefits, etc..... smoking tax, social security....etc.. Is that $400 he claimed to give to everyone cover all this?
10 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoI plan on moving to Mexico to live for longer than 180 days, what do I need?
Can I return to the USA for a visit and then return again and get another tourist visa for another 180 days?
4 AnswersImmigration1 decade agoDoes anyone really think the usa won't have inflation due to the present monetary and fiscal policies?
The Federal government has been printing money as fast as they can and borrowing as much money as China will lend. Can anyone name a time in modern history when these economic policies didn't lead to massive inflation? Is this the "change we can believe in" or is it just a return to Jimmy Carter Econ 101?
5 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWho here doesn't agree with the statement, a cap and trade policy would be the biggest tax increase in history?
Please provide your opinion and let me know who will pay what, and why it's good or bad the for USA. Anyone else notice the price of oil rising?
6 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWho here is for a Cap and Trade Policy, and who would like the unintended consequences?
The Cap and Trade policy increase the cost (taxes) of energy in America. This cost is ALWAYS passed on to consumers, I don't like it, you don't like it, it's the way the world works. So, with a weak economy who wants to increase the price of electricity, natural gas, gasoline, corn, wheat, plastic etc.. by at least 20-40%? What about all the lost jobs? What about inflation?
2 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWhat do you think about Obama's War on the Economy/Capitalism or is it the Constitution?
Bush had the War on Terror, Obama seems to have his wars in full swing. Has anyone looking into his role model for green jobs? Spain has stated for every "green job" they've created they've lost 2.5 other jobs and they have 19.5% unemployment. Those of us in the Economic/Financial community are starting to wonder if that's the goal. Of course as soon as the economy begins to recover we will be hit with inflation like a ton of bricks, what do you guys think?
1 AnswerPolitics1 decade agoHey Libs should Obama bailout the newspapers, and nationalize them to protect the taxpayer's interest?
Is the Constitution out of date and needs to be amended in regards to a free press? Should conservative talk radio be attacked under the "fairness doctrine" as well?
1 AnswerPolitics1 decade agoDid anyone that went to a tea party demonstration get called names?
I ran into some pro ACORN demonstrators and I was called a racist bigot. I also ran into some other people and they said I was brainwashed and only did what Fox News told me to do, anyone else have any similar experiences?
27 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoAre Tax Day Tea Party protestors just "brainwashed" trouble makers?
Or do Libs say that because they hate to think other people in this country just might not agree with their grand vision? Is that whole Democracy thing that gets to Libs so much? Or is it because the protesters are tired of the Libs using OUR money and throwing it out of the window?
8 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoAny Libs that actually PAY INCOME TAXES enjoy writing that check to Uncle Sam?
Our household income increased in 2008 since both of us worked two jobs and about 70-80hrs a week to keep our student loans and medical bills paid, and try to put a few dollars away for the future. We got shafted since we can't afford a house or kid yet to write off, anyone else have a similar story? I can't wait to see how much I'll get to pay in 2009.
5 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoI'm strongly considering a change of scenery, I was wondering if it was legal to telecommute from Mexico?
I work in Accounting now, I think I'd like to move to Mexico for a while. I was wondering if for one, it would be legal for me to work out of Mexico for a company in the USA. Secondly, would I just be taxed normally like if I was living and working in the USA?
1 AnswerLaw & Legal1 decade agoWhat are the advantages of a Tax deductible IRA, Roth IRA or regular IRA?
I currently have a 401k, but I want to save more money for either a down payment for a house or to start a small business. I like the idea of putting "pre-tax" away, but I'm wary of a 10% penalty if I decide to start a small business. What are the tax trade offs and are their limits to the kinds of investments I can choose? Links and sources of information will be greatly appreciated.

2 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoAre there any companion plants of Tomato's that will help fight insects and other problems?
I've had insect and fungus problems in the past with my tomatoes. Last year I did plant basil close but I'd like to cut down on the fungicide and pesticides this year.
5 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoIs giving ACORN billions and $400 million for condoms going to stimulate the economy?
If someone reads the fine print of this bill you will find over half of it is pork barrel spending for Democrat's pet projects. I'm interested in an honest debate, and those that are for the bill please provide the economic theory behind your support. Should Obama try to keep the deficit at Bush levels ($450 billion) or the 1 trillion (before the stimulus bill) projection for 2009? Or should we go for broke and borrow more money from the Chinese for universal health care?
