i have a small collection of rare authentic vintage MJ t-shirts, and i'm torn as to whether i should list them on ebay and make a little money now, or if i should hold on to them with the possibility that they'll be worth something down the road? does anyone have an experience with this? are they past their prime after MJ's passing?

I understand that acting is a full time job, and requires tons of research and work throughout the week. I will be moving to LA after college (which is a few semesters down the road) and I want to start planning now.

The two jobs I've heard about (and I know they may not be easy to come by, I'm doing what I can in my current market to make myself proficient and qualified for these jobs) are (1) casting assistant and (2) working for a temp agency.

Can some experienced LA actors tell me about these jobs? Is there a norm for hours? What do both jobs make on average?

Any other jobs you can think of that I might research at this early pre-LA point would be great. Thanks all!

I'm an actress living in Oklahoma, and I am gaining experience and have a reasonable knowledge about the business. I have an agent in my market, and am in the process of submitting to agencies in a larger market (Dallas). I have heard on occasion, about other actors living in OK (and other states) who also have agents in LA.

I've read and been told that you have to live in LA (or be a star) to have an LA Agent without living there, but then there are actors here that have representation in California and fly there when necessary. Can a highly experienced actor please explain how this works? Are there legitimate agents in LA that sign out of state?

I know my next step is Dallas, but my resume and growing LA isn't very far down the road for me, and any planning ahead I can do, I want to.

The chord is a D, but I want to play it on the ninth fret, no capo. So it would be E and G strings on the 9th fret, B string on the tenth. How would this chord be expressed?

My dad purchased a Madeira guitar and there's something seriously wrong with it. Some notes sound fine, but others sound as if someone is shaking a tambourine when I pluck the string. I don't know how else to explain it. It sounds very unpleasant, the tambourine is the best way I can think to explain it. It's like the strings are rattling.

It's particuarly bad when I use a capo, but some notes make the sound without it. Does this make sense? Help!

I am looking for a scene from The Middle of the Night by Paddy Cheyevsky. I have not read the play, but I need to read a scene for an auditioning class. Some online stores I frequent have a certain day of the week where they mark items down, and I wondered if this was the case with Modcloth? I've fallen for a pair of shoes, but I'll kick myself if I pay the original price and they go on sale after I buy them.

I am learning guitar, and using tab/chord guitar websites to familiarize myself with different chord positions. It's working very well and I'm learning songs very quickly this way, until I come to the tricky chords.

I am using Ultimate-Guitar.com; on this website you just hover over the chord names and it shows you the position. Once in a while (more often, actually), I encounter these chords that have a line going through the first fret. Sometimes it goes through all six strings, sometimes five, sometimes three.

An example would be an F chord. It has a line going through the first fret, then the other positions are third string/second fret, 4th string/third and 5th string/third.

I used a video to learn the F chord, and it looks like I just hold the first three strings of the first fret.

My question to you is: in general what does this line mean? I'd like to know how to read these notes so I don't have to look up a video every time I come to one of them (and they come up a lot).

Does this make any sense? I'm still learning the lingo.
