I believe that my boyfriend may be bipolar. I have thought this for a while and am beginning to think it to be more and more true. He goes through bouts of severe depression and then episodes of manic behavior involving excessive drinking, partying, staying up for days, increased sex, increased risky behavior etc etc.

His sister was recently diagnosed with thyroid disease and had to have her thyroid glands radiated out. She is now on medication.

Auto immune disorders run in his family along with psychiatric problems like depression and more.

I need to know how to help him....

Any advice? Any link between thyroid and bipolar disorder?

I think it may be stress because it is very angry and it bit my boyfriend pretty badly! We had to take him to hospital! The other thing is I have been feeding it grapes latetly...do you think this has something to do with it? I tried to give it a warm bath yesterday but it hated it and it STILL hasn't pooped. I have an Indian/Bronze/Brown skin tone. It's not as dark as African Americans (I am mixed) but it's not olive either.
