"Bear claw" vegetable? Orange, square, pointy top, please identify!?
My son made minestrone soup at school and said they used a vegetable called bear claws. He described them as orange, square sides, pointed on top. I showed him dozens of vegetable pictures, googled it, and can't figure out what they used... any ideas?

It seems to be painted. If there is no easy test, is there something safe I can coat it with that will stay clear?

13 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoCannot be arrested or ticketed for misdemeanors on election days, per the US Constitution?
A friend taking poli-sci classes said the constitution states that US citizens cannot be arrested or ticketed for any misdemeanor on an election day. Can anyone confirm this and provide more detail? I can only find vague references to this topic...

My son had blood drawn for a lead test, they said race/ethnicity was required for the test. Why? What if an accurate family history isn't known? How does race/ethnicity information impact their interpretation of the lead test results?

3 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoYouTube Question?
On YouTube some of my videos have been linked to, and it says (x) number of hits from said links, but if I follow those links I don't see my video on the page.
Can anyone explain why it says those pages link to my video, with in some cases a growing number of hits from the links growing, but I don't see reference to my video on the page?
Just curious, thanks!
1 AnswerYouTube1 decade agoUndeliverable mail message for email I didn't send... is my email being used by spammers?
If so, are they actually logging into my Yahoo account, infected my computer (I thought this was unlikely/impossible on the Mac iBook), or just putting my address in as the sender so it isn't traced to them?
5 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoMust see movies from past 5 years?
We finally signed up for the Netflix gift subscription we got for Christmas. What are the *must see* movies from about the past five years or so... don't assume we've seen them! All genres welcome. Thanks for the suggestions, I've got a queue to fill.

I have now read the book, and had never read the spoilers. I heard that the entire text was even leaked. I'm curious to know if any of it was true.

We keep getting the "ring of death" red lights. The towel trick works but only temporarily, like a few days.
If I can get it to work again briefly, how can I transfer data from the hard drive to external memory before sending it in to Xbox?
Thanks!
5 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoBreastmilk - Cow Milk Question...?
I'm confused. Why are people who oppose breastfeeding (are disgusted by it even) content with feeding to their children the milk excreted through a cow's teats?
It's the same thing except our milk is meant for us, tailored to human child needs. Sure, science does some fancy stuff to cow milk so it nearly mimics our breastmilk, but why?
My questions boils down to: How is human milk wrong or gross but cow milk is not?

10 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoHELP! Lawn near beach dies every year...?
The lawn is above the beach level behind a concrete and stone sea wall, but under some weather conditions the grass is exposed to salt water and inevitably dies. The beach house is in the Northeast.
Is there a particularly durable variety of grass or even a high quality artificial/synthetic turf that would last under these conditions?
Any advice will be very much appreciated!!!
