  • 12 year old cat, really bad mouth problems?

Our cat has had some mouth soreness for a few weeks now and the other day she had some blood trickling out of her mouth. I was not able to get her into the vet until this Friday. She is walking around now with her mouth hanging open and the smell is just unbearable. We looked in her mouth today and it looks like 1/2 her mouth is just rotten; black and puss filled. Is there anything we can to help her right now, and do you think it's something the vet will be able to help without costing us a fortune? We love the cat, but are not going to spend hundreds of dollars on her. btw, we didn't neglect taking her to the vet, we live in a town with one vet, so just not able to get in. Should I prepare my wife and daughter that she may not be coming back from her vet visit?

  • 17 year old son with behavioral and drug issues?

Our 17 year old son has had a lot of issues his entire life with behavioral issues and learning disabilities. We have worked with him, the schools, and counselors throughout. He's never really had much for legal problems, just one minor scrape that we got him out of with no record. He finally got a job about 2 months ago and we thought things were going good. Then, we find out that he quit his job about three weeks ago with no notice after having been suspended and even fired once, he begged them and they let him back. He has still been leaving saying he was going to work, but obviously has not. We confronted him on this, and have found out that he has pawned everything he has, guitar, xbox, ps2, all the games and everything and has nothing to show for it. He got very angry and said that maybe he should just f'in leave. I finally said, fine, go. We've had enough. After two days, we heard from him, he wants his clothes and says he found a place to stay. What should we do???
