  • Stuck with a difficult decision...opinions, please!?

I'm studying secondary mathematics education. I have this wonderful opportunity available to me where I can graduate in 2 more years with a bachelor's in math, a master's in math, AND a master's in education. Going this route will allow me to "finish" grad school without really ever going to grad school and will probably give me a pay boost once I get out into the teaching field. It will also make me more marketable. If I do not choose this path, I will graduate a year from now with a bachelor's in math education and will likely go on to grad school afterward. If this is what I end up doing, it will be less stressful (I'm still not finished getting through what has been the toughest semester for me so far), I can graduate with the people I know, and it will still give me the same degrees, just later. I would love to get some opinions on the matter to hear what other people have to say. To complete my bachelor's...or to go for the extra master's?

  • A Yahoo! Answers survey (just for fun)?

Which of the following types of questions do you find the most annoying and why?

    1) OMG do u think i cud be PREGNATE???

    2) OMG TWILIGHT OMG!!!!!1!!!!eleven!!!

    3) Help me with my homework! (Translation: Do my homework for me)

    4) Other (Give an example and tell why you find it annoying)

Note: All incorrect spelling/grammar and teenage squealing is intended to emphasize the intensity of annoyance caused by said questions.

  • Who can guess this word (10 points)?

Here's the deal: I'll give you a word that you may or may not have seen before. It's a very common word in the English language, but most people usually spell it quite differently. In fact, most would say that this spelling is quite incorrect. It is a fact, however, that according to certain rules of English, the spelling does work for this particular word. Your job is to tell me what word this is and why it is spelled the way it is spelled. Anyone to get the full answer gets 10 points!

    The word is: ghoti.

    Good luck!

  • More than one Y!A glitch?

I realize that there have been like a million questions regarding repeated e-mails for best answer (I've gotten like 40), but my question isn't about that. I was wondering if the glitch that caused the repeat e-mails is also causing Y!A to not work properly. At least 4 times now, I've tried to answer a question, and all 4 times, I've gotten "Yahoo Answers is not available/is having problems. Come back later." I go to Y!A home, and everything's fine! Why can't I answer these questions?

  • What is this popping noise in my ear?

So, every so often, I'll be chewing gum, and my ear will start popping. Not popping like when you're on an airplane or when you accidentally blow your nose too hard; I don't really feel anything, but it sounds like there are Pop Rocks in my ear. It doesn't hurt, but it is super annoying. It just started doing this within the past few months and it's only ever on the left side. I was wondering what this is and how I can avoid/fix it in the future. Thanks for taking the time to offer considerate answers!

  • I need a new hairstyle! Suggestions?

I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow and I need suggestions for what to have done. I'm not getting a perm or color or anything, just a cut/style. Currently, I have straight brown hair about 3-4 inches past my shoulders with a slight side part to the right. I also have a very round face. I would like something that is shortish and professional-looking. I'm studying to be a high school teacher, and when I did my clinicals this semester, I felt like I blended in with the students. I'd like something to show that I have authority and am serious about my job, but something really cute at the same time.

Also, I'm really not one to spend much time on my hair...I own no hair products, no hair dryer, and no curling iron or straightener. I wash (shampoo only), I comb, I brush when it's dry. That's it. Obviously, I'd like something low-maintenance. I have too much going on to care much about hair.

Sorry if I'm being picky, but if anyone has any ideas, I would really appreciate it!

  • Is there something wrong, or is it just a coincidence?

For the past week or so, I've been feeling slightly out of sorts. I don't really feel sick per se, but I've noticed that I don't really feel as hungry as I usually do...it takes a lot of time for me to become hungry enough to eat as much as I usually do. Also, I've been feeling slightly gassy/crampy in my abdomen area. My guess is that this is a result of getting over a cold combined with the fact that I'm due to get my period this week, along with all the stress I was facing at the end of the semester. I should probably also mention that I haven't really changed anything about my habits. I guess what I'm looking for is for any sort of input of anyone (preferably females) who has experienced this sort of thing and can offer an explanation. Is it coincidence, as I'm assuming it to be? Or is this something different? Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Why does old Velveeta smell like brown sugar?

So, on a couple of occasions, my friends and I have opened a package of Velveeta (one of shells and cheese and one in brick form) that was past its "Best if used by" date by about a year, year and a half. When we opened the cheese product, we found that instead of smelling like processed cheese (as expected), it had the pungent odor of brown sugar! Has anyone else ever experienced this phenomenon?
