It is flashing between power source and battery. A few months ago the power adapter was broke and bought a new one. I swear it is INSIDE the machine that is messed up. Can this be fixed and whom do I take it to?

I want to get my child his own laptop to get on internet and do educational games on pbs, and other learning websites. We already have one of those OLPC laptops which is linux and tho he enjoys it, we haven't been able to get on internet in this new house and at old house the internet was different. Is that because it is linux and not windows?

It would be nice to have a cd/dvd drive so he can play music and movies, but not 'that' important. I've heard that netbooks don't have a cd/dvd drive. Is that true?

I have raised him it wasn't a race to eat. To eat slowly. I was told these things as well when trying to lose weight or just general good health. Until this summer I had a friend & her 4yo son stay with us. This kid was forced to eat everything on his plate and ate quickly. Mind you he was a very skiny and hyper child, not fat. But I believe it is bad habits she is teaching him and he may just end up over weight. Doubtful by looking at his dad tho.

Anyway, since my son is in school, time is an issue. Breakfast and dinner are now battles because he has to get to school, get to bed...

I've tried giving him smaller and smaller portions. My 4yo daughter doesn't give me any problems with eating.

I've tried timers, threats, bribes...

Everything short of feeding him at all.

What would you do?

It randomly shuts off. Today twice in one hour. It can go days w/o it happening. Sometimes the fans just run and run. And if it is just on the coffee table, it gets super hot. I've had it at pc repair place for unrelated issue where my adapter just got fried, litterally and needed a new one. They cleaned the fans and said they weren't dirty really.

So, I have been keeping the laptop on top of a metal cooking rack to help circulate the air and that seems to cool things down and fans don't run as much.

Why would it still overheat? Would over heating shut it down? Could it be a program I am running? Today I had my kids playing a sesame street. org game and it was on flat surface w/no rack under it and shut off twice on them. Very frustrating for an adult much less a preschooler!!

Virus scans, spyware, etc all come back OK.

Should I send it back to place to be looked at?

I got this refurbished like 8mos ago and really don't want to purchase another laptop!

How many covers? I've read only need about 5-8 for newborn. Why not more? Do they not get wet on the inside? Do you just wipe them out and set aside for next diaper change? What is your favorite brand? I've purchased xsmall Thirsties and 1 lite wrap so far.

As for fitteds...they seem cool. I like the colors and ease for sitter and hubby. But why have print if need a cover right? And they can get costly it seems.

Do AIO work ok on newborn or should I wait.

I'm seriously contemplating cloth diaper my 4th and final child. I've purchased some so far from cottonbabies.com. They've seemed pretty reasonable. Where else do you recommend?

Ok, to clarify the necessity so I get an answer: My sister and I and several cousins were all tested positive for the BRAC1 GENE. This is breast cancer AND ovarian cancer which is VERY common in our family. My sister and several cousins have already had the preventative surgeries to remove ovaries (called oopherectomy) and breasts. I decided to try for one last child as I am younger than them before I have the procedure. My doctor said she can do the oopherectomy right after I have the baby and will only stay an extra day in the hosp. However, I'm concerned about hormones and really want to bf one last time before those are removed as well.

Here's a little info/history. I currently have a 5 1/2 yr old son and 4 yr old daughter. I had another child, my first who passed away when she was two. At the time I was trying to conceive and did conceive my son. They know all about her.

Currently they want a baby sister/brother and sort of know that we are trying. At least knows we want a baby too. I know they will be happy for us. I'm worried my 4yo daughter might make me crazy as she has no patience right now, expecting baby NOW. lol. So, wait till belly shows? But, I've been losing weight, and they notice that, so may just think I'm getting chubby again. I'm horrible w/secrets and I know will be hard not to let it slip in front of them.

and NOT be pregnant? I've taken many now, I'm only 11dpo today and the one I took this am is there, very very light, but visible and showed up w/in the 5mins. 2 days ago, there was nothing. Yesterday I took several and all show a faint line. Could they all be wrong, evaporation lines. Something wrong w/the batch? I've been ttc on clomid for last 5 mos and ttc for last yr. I know they test at 20mIU, so buying a store bought test right now would surely show a neg -. What do you think, any experience w/these? I'll keep testing daily, but was really thinking, hoping the line would be a little darker today, still soooo light!!

My phone broke...the flip top came off. No warranty or insurance and under a year old. Phones are expensive w/o a plan!! I was hoping that maybe if I stuck the sim card in another phone it would work or would I need to pay a stinkin' att guy $ to turn on a $200 + phone I purchase from them?

I got a positive opk & peak on fertility monitor yesterday around 10am. We BD (had sex) last night around 10-11pm. Today I got a peak again and another +. Should we have intercourse again tonight?

It should up a week or so. Didn't really notice it to be honest, but the min someone else got on to use it they saw it. It is a horizontal line below the start menu. Ok, I have a 16week standard poodle puppy. I've had her since 8weeks old. She was doing fine w/the crate and potty training until the dumb vet told me to switch her food. We did, and after two weeks on it she had real bad tummy upset. Switched her back and in two days she was back to normal. Anyway, that is not my issue.

She has outgrown the crate we had for her, so I purchased a nice wire collapsible one w/a divider. I was told to make it small so she won't poop/pee in it.

WRONG.

She has got her potty going all backwards now. I take her out, wander around either on a leash or not and she takes FOREVER to go..... When she finally pees, as she is going I say "go potty, good girl" then give her a treat after. That seemed to work. Until I take her inside and if I turn my back for a second, she had gone poop somewhere. So, I started to immediately put her in crate when back inside. But then she has just started pooping in it! I mean I spent a 1/2 hour outside w/her once, then put her in crate b/c I couldn't take her w/us that trip and came home to a nasty mess in the crate! So, I took the dang divider out so she COULD poop in a corner and not get it everywhere!!

What am I to do now? Today, we have the crate in the back of mini van. Got to destination, took her out, played in grass for about 20mins, put her in crate, went inside to pick up my daughter, came out and she had peed in the crate! I said nothing to her. But wth??

Advice please as this is really really getting old.... fast.

My son is 5 years old. He has taken gymnastics since age two and always wants to go. At age 4 I took him to 2 free trial sessions for a reputable karate place. They evaluated him and said he wasn't ready and suggested The Little Gym. That place is FUN and noncompetitive. He had a blast there for 16weeks. However, if he didn't want to do something, they didn't care. I cared and wanted him to learn to focus and listen and follow directions as he was having trouble with those. So, in January he turned 5 and we enrolled him for 6mos in karate. He does 'OK' but not great and it is now several months later. He still sometimes gets put in a time out for not following directions. He will have a belt test in the end of May. Should I wait till then to see how he does and if he achieves a new belt color? We are committed to pay until end of July, but honestly I don't care about the $, but him. He is supposed to go at least 2 x a week. Every time I tell him it is time to go he wails. And when I pick him up from school he asks, "Mom, do I have to go to karate?" with a sigh.

I just don't know what to do! My husband said I shouldn't let him decided if he wants to go, make him. So, I have and after the class my son does answer "yes" when I ask if he had fun.. most times.

But, he just isn't any good at it. He is class clown and acts goofy, wiggly and not 'stiff' or rigid like the others that stand tall or sit like a black belt.

What would you do? Maybe I should just add another gymnastics to his week and give up the karate?
