Jesus Loves You, But I'M his Favorite?
I recently saw this statement on a bumper sticker. Now my question is...Is it not a sin for a religious person to put this on their car? To assume that God or Jesus loves you MORE than another is a sin right? "We are all equal in the eyes of god." So why is it that religious people can be so Vain and still consider themselves free from sin. Even a small sin is a sin. A bumper sticker may not seem like much, but the statement it implies is not small. To me this is a perfect example of religious double standards. They tell you to be free of sin and then hand out stickers that will make you a sinner if you use them??? I know it is only a sticker, but I've seen a lot like this, and it makes me wonder what these so called religious people were thinking? Do they really believe that they will get a better spot in the lineup at the pearly gates when the time comes??? Do any of you have this sticker or one like it on your cars? If so please explain why you think god likes you more
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy doesn't Alcohol follow the same guidlines for advertising as Tobaccoo?
Both products are Very harmful to society, and to your body. Both are responsible for Multiple thousands of deaths every year. Both are heavily taxed by the government. Why is it that Tobaccoo is NOT allowed to do a lot of advertising, and Alcohol IS? I don't understand why one KNOWN harmful substance is OK to be mass marketed to everyone, and the other isn't. They are both governed under the same outlet of government "ATF" Shouldn't both Very Harmful substances be banned from advertising? And if not, then shouldn't Tobaccoo be able to advertise as aggressively as Alcohol does? Don't get me wrong here, I am agains't advertising for both, but why is the law so different when both products are so similar. Drinking and smoking go hand in hand. So why does our society view one as kind of O.K. and the other as a big Taboo?
17 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWhat is Consiousness? Where does it come from?
The only thing that every single person on the planet shares and has in common is that we are all Consious. So what is it exactly and where did it come from? Was it a chemical reaction in our brains that triggered it? Was it a divine gift from God? Or is God really just the single consiouness that we all share?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs God Satan?
Here's my question. If Satan is the greatest of LIARS and is trying to harvest souls for hell, couldn't he be lying to the world by starting RELIGION as we know it and telling all the followers that he is God, and that they should follow him? How would we really know the difference?
How many wars have been started and fought over religion? How many people have died, not by the hand of God, but by the hands of religious followers? Religion can be linked to Torture and punishments beyond comprehension. How many priest have been caught defiling children? Spanish inquisition, Salem witch trials, crusades...etc
I don't see how a true God would need a religion of any kind for people to believe in. Wouldn't the continuous belief in God be enough for someone? All god needs is the faith. Not Money.
Doesn't this promise of life everlasting and happiness in heaven for all eternity sound more like a lie the devil would tell to get you to sign his contract, than the words of God
