Question about the baby "dropping"?
Hi everyone. I accidentally posted this question in the "newborn section", but I think the "pregnancy" section is more appropriate. Sorry to those who are reading this question twice. I myself hate duplicate questions.
Anyway, I'm not freaking out or anything, just want some general information from those who are experienced...
I'm 35 weeks along and my baby dropped about a week ago. I'm wondering how long after your baby drop did you go into labor? I was watching this Lamaze DVD that I purchased and the educator had mentioned that if the baby "drops" or engages, the average mom will go into labor approximately 4 weeks later. Now, my husband is a little freaked out that the baby will be coming a little earlier than the due date. This is our first child and we're very excited! :)
Thanks, everyone!

2 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoMommies or mommie-to-be: Most random pregnancy experience?
I'm 30 weeks pregnant and for some reason, guys have been trying to pick up on me a lot more lately... so weird!!! A guy at a drive through window told says, "I hope you're not offended by me saying that you're the most beautiful woman I've seen. Come back and see me!." I just smiled and drove off. He even saw that I was wearing my wedding ring!!! How creepy was that?
Another night, I was driving home and was at a stop light. Some guy was looking at me from the next car over. He was giving me a look like, "Look at me! I'm so sexxxy!" He started flexing and kissing his bicep (no joke). I was trying not to look at him, but I could see him through my peripheral. It was the most hilarious, but ridiculous thing I've ever seen and he was serious.
Have these types of things ever happen to you???
11 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoStrange dreams during pregnancy???
I heard that it's very common to have strange dreams (sometimes nightmares) during pregnancy.
When I first became pregnant, I had a nightmare that my husband was murdered. The dream was so vivid that when I woke up, I couldn't breath, I was crying and I turned over and hugged my husband so tight that I couldn't let go.
A few days ago, I had a dream about a friend of mine who committed suicide 14 years ago. I was walking towards him and he was by a door. I was trying to get his attention, but he wouldn't look at me. He was looking down the whole time.
Please share your experiences. I'm very curious as I feel like I have dreams every single night. Thank God they're not all bad.
12 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoIs it too early to start my baby registry?
My edd is Feb 7th. I've been told that I should start picking stuff for my registry now, but my husband thinks it's too soon. I think my baby shower is going to be held sometime in January. The upcoming months are going to be busy and the holidays are just around the corner.
19 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoHome doppler?
My husband and I are considering to buy a fetal doppler. His co-worker bought one from Wal-Mart and said that it didn't work well. Does anyone own one and if so, how is it working for you? Recommendations are welcome! We're not looking into an inexpensive one, just one that works well, but it it's inexpensive and works well that would be great too! :)
3 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoMost ridiculous thing I've heard yet!?
My mother-in-law told me that it's bad to tickle a baby because he/she will stop breathing. She tried to pin it on my dad saying that he's the one who told her this. I know for a fact that my dad would NEVER say such a thing since I have a 3 year old nephew who my parents have been watching since he was 5 months old and we've all tickled him and still do. She's also known to make up ridiculous stories like this.
I wanted to ask my dad if this was true, but my husband told me not to before I even brought it up. He was pretty peeved at his mom too.
I know that if I play with my baby once he's born and tickle him, she's going to say something.
I don't want to start a fight if she tries to tell me how to raise my child. I really don't like to be confrontational especially with family, but I feel that if she says something stupid like that, I'll really say something back.
I'd really love to hear your thoughts and opinions on this. Thanks all! :)
23 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoDo you recommend Lamaze?
I've been getting mixed answers from friends and family.
I'm pregnant with my first child and my best friend recommended that I take Lamaze. The problem is, my husband works a lot. He works a lot of weekends and that's the only time I would be able to go. I work during the week and get home pretty late.
He suggested that we look around for a DVD and we could do it at home. Thing is, I don't know where to begin. Have any of you learned Lamaze via DVD? If so, any recommendations?
Please share your experiences (good and bad). Thanks!
