Strange dreams during pregnancy???
I heard that it's very common to have strange dreams (sometimes nightmares) during pregnancy.
When I first became pregnant, I had a nightmare that my husband was murdered. The dream was so vivid that when I woke up, I couldn't breath, I was crying and I turned over and hugged my husband so tight that I couldn't let go.
A few days ago, I had a dream about a friend of mine who committed suicide 14 years ago. I was walking towards him and he was by a door. I was trying to get his attention, but he wouldn't look at me. He was looking down the whole time.
Please share your experiences. I'm very curious as I feel like I have dreams every single night. Thank God they're not all bad.
I'm not stressed. It only happened twice and I'm 24 weeks and 5 days. So, it doesn't happen often at all. My dreams are usually pleasant -- these are the exceptions.
I'm not really taking my dreams as a sign of anything. I just take them as they are -- dreams. I'm not worried because I heard that dreams and/or nightmares are common during pregnancy. The funny thing is that I haven't thought of my friend who committed suicide in a long time.

It's very common to have strange, intense dreams while you're pregnant. I've had two kids, and it happened during both pregnancies. Your hormones are at strange levels, often you're not sleeping as well, and you're certainly facing new challenges and stresses. It all adds up to some strange imagery at times. I dreamed about my father, who passed away when I was young, my husband being injured or killed, our house burning, -- much like your dreams. But I also had some really beautiful, happy, dreams too! Don't stress out about them, or take them as a "sign" of anything --

I am 5 months pregnant and just a couple nights ago, I had a dream that my fiance' died in a car accident . . he was out of town at the time . . and the dream seemed so real that I was shaken up and very emotional until I got to talk to him . . I just had to know that he was okay . .
I've heard that dreams like this are normal during pregnancy, so hopefully we have nothing to worry about . .
good luck the rest of the way!!

I've had a lot of weird dreams since I've been pregnant too...mostly in my second trimester.
One, that was the most clear, was about 2 months ago. In my dream I was walking across an intersection and an old couple in an SUV hit me as I was crossing! The weird thing was, that it hurt! I felt like I got hit in my dream! I was so worried about the baby, and the old couple just drove away and I was lying there dying. It was horrible! I woke up crying!
Another dream I've had was about having my baby. I delivered him myself by cutting my stomach open and took him out and played with him, showed him off to family and friends, and at the end of the day I reopened my stomach and put him back in, and then sewed my stomach back up...very weird!
I've also had dreams about people who have died. One being my grandma, and another was my friend who died a year ago. Neither of them would speak to me. I hope my dreams go back to normal after I give birth, haha!

I am pregnant for my third child , this child has a different father than my other 2 children and i dreamed last week that i wanted my ex back and when i asked him to come closer to me i killed him. that was scary. i have had dreams of death and lots of turmoil about 3 or 4 times during this pregnancy and i am only 12 weeks so i can't wait for them to stop. I had odd dreams while pregnant with my other 2 children as well but nothing as scary as these ones and you are right they do seem so real , very vivid

well, it's ok. pregnancy could be a stressful time. You probably worry about your baby's health, etc. it's very normal, but you try to keep bad thoughts away, some of them go to your unconscious and come back to you at night in the form of different images. Don't worry and don't stress out. Try to forget about bad dreams, enjoy your colorful good dreams.

When i was pregnant i had alotof bad dreams..So bad that now i'm still scared to sleep alone. I had dreams that i was just walking around and everything was in slow motion and someone would try to kill me. And those dreams were every night until i was about 7 months. that was 10 months ago but now when i'm sleeping alone while my b/f is working at night...i have to sleep with all the lights on and have my baby sleep next to me in her crib! :s

Oh my, sorry to here of those horrible dreams. I thankfully have only had very good dreams. Mostly dreams about sex. I'd actually wake up because of the orgasms i would have.

I have had some crazy dreams, some bad but mostly sex dreams. Dreams where you wake up and think to yourself what was that about.
