  • Can i get a prescription for anti-depressants/insomnia tablets on the NHS without a psych assessment?

    I've suffered from depression for over 8 years, but have only taken antidepressants twice, (for a couple of weeks each time) it was my choice to stop taking them.

    I have now decided that i would like to try them properly as i believe i'm reaching quite a low point... unable to sleep, no energy, no appetite.

    I was wondering if i could get a prescription for anti-depressants or even something for insomnia from my GP without having to be evaluated.

    Any information would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
