What's this called? and how do you do this?

Hi! I'm planning on purchasing my first mic. I'm going to be using it for vocals(treble-male), a bit of acoustics, and since I don't really have mics for drums, I'm just gonna have to use it for that in the meantime. I have the M-Audio Fast Track Pro, running on Pro Tools(can you recommend me a audio software that's easy to use?), i'm connecting my bass guitar & electric guitar through the FTP.

I've been researching a bit and I've made a couple choices:

Audio Technica AT4040

Rode NT1-A

Blue Bluebird

Blue Spark

Any others you would recommend?

How to make a home studio w/ camera?

I want to turn my room into a music studio to record my music and make videos.

I understand the budget needed, but have no experience setting one up.

I'm buying:

Rode NT1-A Condenser Microphone

The M-Audio Fast Track Pro(will this work?)

Canon T2I(Done)

Cables needed

Fruity Loops & Sony Vegas(Done)

Now the main question is: How will I make this all work together?

And any other tips are appreciated. Thanks! :)

Let me tell you a little bit about myself first, I was a proclaimed atheist since i was 12. I'm 14 now, and my uncle that is so dear to me and my family passed away due to cancer a few weeks ago. Ever since 3 days ago, the questions in my head wouldn't stop calling and haunting me: "What is the meaning of life?" "What is the purpose of all this?" "If there is no creator, then WHAT started everything(the big bang to me is just a big load of bullsh!t, to be honest)" "What happens after we DIE?" "If there is no afterlife, what's the point in living a happy life when temporary happiness will soon end?"

It's been scary, i've been looking for signs of my uncle, days after he passed my cousins(his daughter, son, etc) experienced paranormal activity that related to him. In example, I remember he would always knock a certain way, and once he knocked, you knew it was him. So the night after, the door would knock. They opened, no one was there. This happened 3 times before it stopped. When the rest of the family came home, they experienced a white figure rush through their bedrooms as if he was walking around the house.

Days later, my sister experienced a dream that included him saying "Tell my kids I love them.", I found these very hard to believe, so I went on.

I secretly asked myself, "If you still exist, please give me a sign." this was 3 days ago, ever since there was a feeling that my purpose wasn't good enough, it felt like life in my perspective was like I was a superbeing, thinking to myself "Is this all life has to offer?". It wouldn't stop haunting me, like something was FORCING me to think about it. I googled Near-Death Experiences, they seemed very convincing, and very satisfying. In the video, people were saying that a figure, told them something like "It is not your time yet, learn more." So, with a heart once with hopelessness and fear now crowded with the feeling of sadness of myself, but a sense of home, it finally clicked. WHAT IF the true meaning of life is to LEARN about the small portions life has to give, to be ready for the next life?

Please no trolling and flaming, atheists seem to make fun of others points of view of life.

So I downloaded Skyrim a couple days ago and it's fine(razor1911), except everytime i start the game, the textures are just purple polygons moving around the screen. All the characters in-game are purple, and I don't know what to do.

Today I was on my computer(i'm on my mom's laptop) and I had about 1/3 or 1/2 glass of water in front of the laptop. I accidentally spilled it in the centre of the keyboard. In about half a second my computer screen went static and in panic i immediately turned it off and put tissue in attempt to absorb most of the liquid. I tilted the laptop so all the water drained to the side. Minutes later when it wasn't very soaked I got a blow dryer, put it on low heat setting and started to dry it. After about 20 minutes I turned it on. It works! Although it was devastatingly slow and 4 keys were linked together. t5 and y6. I turned it off and decided to crank up the blow dryer to high, not knowing I wasn't supposed to do this. Long story shorter, now 70% of my keyboard is linked. Also, internet isn't working(might have something to do with the key that disables it). I tried vacuuming it, didn't seem to work. The rice trick seems good but I don't really wanna waste rice. :P So can you guys tell me what to do so my keyboard can be corrected? Thanks!

Is it wrong to be asking questions like this when i'm only 13?

I would like to become a commercial pilot and my heart says im destined to be one i just dont know what subjects are important to take in high school(this might sound silly).

Does it matter about the courses you take in high school?

All of my subjects im taking are completely average(seriously) except i struggle with geography a bit.

After high school, what next? Ive read a couple websites on this and learned there are quite a few ways to become a pilot: Joining the airforce(not interested), going to a traditional school or college school.

Do you go straight to these schools after high school or do you have to take random courses in university(aeronautics, etc.)?

How long will school take?

Lets say ive made it through college and all my school is completed, what now?

I'm getting a T2i and the Rode NT1a to capture video then edit it in my Mac. Now, my question is what can I do to connect the Rode NT1a(condenser microphone which needs Phantom Power) to the 1/8 jack in the T2i.

Should I buy a Mixer that has Phantom Power then get a 1/4 - 1/8 adapter cable to connect it to the Camera?

Or should I get a recording interface FireWire to a computer then combine the audio with the video in there? (That sounds like a lot of work. :S )

Hey how are you doing?

I just rebooted my computer since it caught a virus and i deleted everything from my hard drive. I lost all my driver CD's so the only option is to go on the internet and look for them. I've downloaded all of my drivers except for my sound card. It's the SIS 963Lua, I've tried going on looking for one, but all of downloads arent working for me. When I try to install the driver, it goes maybe 1/8 loading it stops and says something like "-54635834" on one window and then another behind it says "Failed to install driver" or something. I am not sure what I should do. I have a modified version of windows xp if that helps. Thanks forum. I really need your help!

Condenser Microphone help?

Hi, i'm going to buy the RODE NT1a, but i'm wondering how to hook it up to the computer for recording.

I hear a lot of things,

like I need a pre-amp to power it, and then get an XLR adapter cable, which is all too expensive.

Will an XLR - USB adapter cable work? Cause the Computer has a built in sound card(new iMac i7 2.93Ghz), so i guess... will it work?

Looking for some nice surround sound speakers around 100 - 300 dollars.

Not Logitech, we've bought three of their expensive products and they all failed.

5.1 or 7.1 doesn't matter.

Hello, I have a Mac and was wondering if you guys recommend any gaming stuff for me. Cost doesn't matter unless it's a piece of junk selling for 300 dollars. You get the idea.

Anyway, the games I play are MMO's(WoW & Aion), Strategy(Starcraft 2 & Bunch of other games), and FPS(MW2, Bioshock 1&2, Crysis, etc.).

You guys think you can hook me up for something that will work well on any of these types of games?

I'm right-handed, and uses a lot of Macros.
