  • Looking for the name of a song from the 70's or 80's...?

I don't know who sings it, and I can't remember most of the lyrics. But it basically tells a story, how the singer ran into an old flame and it looks like they might rekindle things but then he sings something like "too much time has passed" and that they should just walk away.

    I think it's from the 70's.

  • Why is GZ usually referred to as Zimmerman, and TM is usually referred to as Trayvon?

I even do it myself. I call GZ by his last name and TM by his first. And I noticed most people also do the same. Just curious if anyone has any opinions as to why.

  • What should I do for someone whose husband died?

She's been a good friend or the family for a looonnng time. Her husband has been in the hospital for months, and finally passed on.

I hate the idea of sending flowers...it seems like a "cheer up" type gift, which to me sounds insulting when you've just lost your spouse.

I live too far to actually go there and do anything for her, but anyone have any other ideas of what I might send other than flowers?

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

  • Question about Excel - Quick 10 Points!!?

Hi, I'm printing out a log I've created in Excel. The top row is the only one with text in it. The rest of the rows will be handwritten. I have figured out how to print the gridlines. I also reset the margins on top and bottom so that more rows will print on one page.

But now, when I print the page, two of the rows are double in size...like the gridline between rows 12 and 13 is missing. And then it does it again later in the page. It only started doing this when I adjusted the top and bottom margin.

Does anyone know how to stop it from printing the double rows? They don't show as double rows in the print preview screen.

I'm trying to do this now, so if the first person who suggests something that works gets the 10 pts immediately!

  • Question about paying her?

I recently hired a young lifeguard (she's 19) as a private swimming teacher for my two girls. I called the YMCA with interest and she called.

She comes to my dads's home (we don't have a pool, so we go there) and each girl has a half hour lesson. The rate is only $10/half hour, so it's $20, but I usually give her $25 because she's great.

My question: If we set up a lesson, and when we get there, it's storming and we have to cancel, how should I handle that?

I mean, gas is $4 a gallon and it's a waste of gas and time for her. Granted, it's not the hour that the lesson would have been since she lives about 10 minutes away, but still.

Should I pay her the $20 for the hour even though she's only wasted maybe 20 minutes? Or should I just give her a little money (like $5) for gas? Or do I not give her anything at all?

I don't think she expects anything, but I feel bad if she wastes any time or gas and then doesn't get paid.

    What do you all think?
