  • Shooting a handgun, bad eye is my dominant eye?

I have an unfortunate eye condition caused by medication I was taking that caused an issue im my right eye only. I stopped taking it of course, but my eye doctor said 20/30 is about the best I can expect (and the slight impairment is not correctable by glasses). My left eye is 20/20. Any opinions on whether it would be better to deal with the moderate impairment and keep shooting with my dominant eye, or just train myself to shoot with my left eye. (I shoot right handed if that matters)

  • How if inflation calculated for relatively new, or very improved goods?

I ask because it's a common talking point in politics nowadays that the median wage hasn't increased since the 1970's adjusting for inflation. So it made me wonder how the Consumer Price Index factors in something like a Iphone, or a flat screen tv. Phones and televisions existed 40 years ago, but were nowhere near as good. Some clarification would be appreciated

  • Nfl blackout policy for local games?

During Sunday afternoon nfl games, they usually have one game on fox, and one on CBS. However (living in arizona), when the cardinals play, the game scheduled to be played on the alternate channel is blacked out. I can understand the need for blackouts if the local team doesn't sell out it's seats, but that's not the case here. Why does the nfl only allow the local game be broadcast during that particular time slot, even if another station has another game scheduled nationwide?

  • What would be an appropriate tip for a Jimmy John's delivery guy?

Never ordered delivery on such a small order, kind of feels weird getting delivery for something that costs $6. A normal appropriate tip for a delivery is 20%, but that only comes out to a dollar or so. So I figured tipping at least a couple bucks would be more appropriate. Thoughts?

  • Best way to get FICO score with one time payment?

I am interested in getting my fico score. I don't mind spending a little money to get it. But what I don't want to do is sign up for a service that is free*, which means, they start charging you after two weeks. Is there a service available where you can obtain your FICO score with a one time payment, and thats it?

  • How to change taskbar color on Windows 7?

Every where else I have looked online basically says; "right click on empty desktop space and select personalize, and go to Window color, and then select color". But when I do that, it just gives a bunch of options to change the color of things like border padding, tool tip, etc. I'm probably just stupid but I cant for the life of me figure it out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

  • Glock magazine rattles when fully loaded?

So i've had an issue recently with one of my magazines for my Glock 26. Its the only glock I own. Basically, when I put 10 rounds in it (which is its capacity), its rattles if I shake it, like the bullets are loose in there or something. Almost a clanging rattle that ive never experienced before. But it doesn't do that if I have less than 10 rounds in it.

I was at the range when I noticed it, and I wasn't sure if it was going to be a problem or not. But it jam once when I was using it. And i've probably put a couple thousand rounds through it by now and that's the first time it's ever jammed on me.

I did disassemble the magazine looking for anything obviously wrong with it and didn't find anything.

Any suggestions or anyone experience anything like this before with a Glock or any other magazine.

  • Is there a chance that the federal assault weapons ban will be re-instated?

I'm hearing a lot of talk about since the tragedies in Connecticut about it. Obviously some high profile democrats have come out in favor of it. But the GOP has been silent on it. I could see some gun control gaining traction in the Senate, where the Democrats have a 55-45 majority going into the next congress. But the House will still have a 234-201 advantage in the House. What are the chances any serious gun control comes out of it.

  • Lewis Hamilton vs. Nico Rosberg?

With Lewis Hamilton moving to Mercedes, inevitably his performance will be compared to his future teammate. Conventional wisdom might say that Lewis would blow Rosberg away, but i'm not totally convinced he will.

Just about everyone (myself included), thought Lewis would blow Jenson Button away when he came to McLaren, but that didn't happen.

    Thoughts?

  • Why don't the Oakland A's open the upper deck for playoff games?

I understand why the A's cover the outfield upper deck with a tarp during the regular season (it is a football stadium after all). But during the playoffs, I noticed they still had the upper deck covered. Wouldnt the playoffs be a good time to take advantage of the Oakland Coliseum's huge capacity. Having baseball's worst stadium should at least have some advantage.

  • Is Lewis Hamilton nuts for leaving McLaren?

I mean, I get that it appears he got a bigger offer from Mercedes, but what has Mercedes done in nearly 3 seasons of competition to make Lewis think he will be competitive there. 1 win in since they formed the team in 2010. I do agree that Hamilton will probably get better results than Rosberg or Schumacher, but still...... An elite driver still needs a competetive ride. Just look at Alonso when he drove for Renault in 2008-2009. It was apparent that he got the most out of his ride, but was never even close to being competitive on a consistent basis.

  • If Joe Gibbs dumps Kyle Busch, what are Kyle's options?

It is Kyle's contract year, so even before his latest tirade about Toyota racing, I was wondering what option he had outside of Gibbs. And there really aren't many, at least among the top teams. Hendrick already has 4 drivers, Roush dumped Kenseth because he was too expensive and promoted Stenhouse, so I doubt Roush would expand to 4 teams. RCR is a potential possibility, but they had to let Bowyer go last year because they couldn't make a 4 car team work financially. After that, theres SHR (which had Danica coming in next year), and Penske already signed Logano to drive the 22, and Keselowski is still under contract.

Where does Kyle realistically end up if he doesn't re-sign with Gibbs?

  • How can holocaust denial be illegal?

I understand how countries like Germany, given their history, want to make it illegal to even speak about atrocities that their country committed.... Isn't the idea of regulating speech the absolute worst thing a free society can do.

  • Announce concealed weapon during traffic stop?

I carry on my person some of the time, but I always have a handgun in the console between the drivers and passengers seat. I have a concealed weapons permit, so theres nothing illegal about it.

While there is no legal requirement to inform a police officer during a traffic stop I have immediate access to a weapon (in AZ at least), I was wondering what some opinions are of the best way to handle it?

My CCW instructor said the way he did it was not bring it up unless asked. If asked, then obviously tell the truth, and obviously keep your hands where the officer can see them during the stop (which is smart to do with or without a weapon). Explain you have a CCW and tell him exactly where the gun is.

Any other opinions on how to handle the situation. I mean, some people I talked to have said they would offer it up right away the second the officer started talking to you. But I felt that like it kind of silly. Wouldn't that make him/her more nervous, not less. Like saying, "do you know why I pulled you over?" "No sir, but just so you know, I got a gun." I mean, its not particularly relevant, especially if its completely concealed from view. How is he gonna know unless he goes in the compartment.

  • Post touchdown celebration penalties in the NFL?

While I don't necessarily agree with the rules the NFL has on excessive celebration rules after a touchdown, what boggles my mind is that players still do the excessive celebrations when they know damn well it will be penalized.

If I was a coach in the NFL, I would tell every player they would be benched if they received a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct/ excessive celebration. Why hasn't this happened on every team already?

  • Question on gun range etiquette?

I am a relative novice when it comes to shooting. I've been target shooting with my on and off for about 3 months, but my old shooting spot in the desert was closed off to the public. So I am not totally new to shooting, but today was my first day at an actual range.

Its an indoor range, and there is always an employee or two. I occasionally saw them giving some advice to a few shooters, or telling someone they were doing something unsafe. I never asked them any questions since I know the place offers shooting lessons, so I felt like it would be kinda rude to ask for free advice.

But would asking them a few questions (for example, about my stance, or grip etc), be considered rude or would they not care?

  • Is the term "Assault Weapon" a real way to describe a type of firearm, or is it purely political?

When I actually read what type of weapons were prohibited under the now expired Assault Weapons Ban, it seemed to be relatively arbitrary. For example, a semi-automatic rifle would be considered an "Assault Weapon" and thus prohibited if it had both a pistol grip and a collapsible stock. It just struck me as extremely arbitrary. I'm like, who cares what kind of grip or stock the gun has, that doesn't make it more or less dangerous?

Also, 19 specific types of firearms that were specifically prohibited. The only thing I noticed is that many of them were similar in appearance to military-style rifles, but they were semi-automatic rifles. It was as if someone in congress flipped through pictures of guns and just picked out the ones that looked the most scary (even if they were no more dangerous than the next one).

So, my question ultimately being, amongst the gun community and gun enthusiasts, is the term "assault weapon" actually part of firearm lexicon. Or is more of a misnomer and merely a creation by politicians.
