  • What would you take the following math question to mean?

The following six numbers represent the number of people on separate flights leaving New York and heading to Boston. 117, 131, 145, 167, 100, 241.

Find the average number of people per flight.

My professor and I just had a 20 minute argument about what this question is actually asking. What do you take this question to mean? What do you think it is asking you for?

  • Ventrio lag without ping spikes?

I am the owner of my Ventrilo server and I am having some major issues here. The server is currently set at Speex 32 KHz 16 bit, 10 quality 5520 bytes/sec, but I have also tried GSM 6.10 44 KHz 16 bit 8905 bytes/sec to resolve my problem with no luck. Here is the problem: I start up ventrilo and everything is running just fine. Then all of a sudden I will see microphone lights lighting up green, indicating that someone is talking, but I hear nothing. Then, about 15 seconds to one whole minute, I will hear what they said when their mic lit up (note that when I hear what they did say, the mic is not lit up anyone). During this time of lag, there are NO ping spikes at all. My ping is anywhere from 5ms to 15ms. Another detail is that if I see a microphone light up and hear no voice, I can press the disconnect button on Ventrilo and all of a sudden hear everything I missed while not being connected. I am on a 20 Mb/sec connection (Fios) and I am not running any other internet based applications nor downloading or uploading any data. What could this be? Thank you for your help.

  • My kitten has explosive gas syndrome. Is this normal?

She is a little little kitten and by God does she has explosive GAS. The farts smell sooooo bad and when she actually farts you see her whole tiny body jerk forwards like a rocket being propelled by its engine. For such a small creature she farts with such force and it is as loud as a human fart as well. What is up with this?

  • Kitten lost it's voice, could it be due to strangulation?

Here is the story. I picked up this kitten a few days ago at my local shelter. She is 3 1/2 months old. Now, she is not the most vocal of the bunch, but from time to time she does meow.Today, I caught her tangled up in a laptop cord and choking. I got her out as quickly as I can and checked her breathing. She is breathing just fine and appears to be eating and drinking just fine as well. She purs when I pet her and she plays like normal. However, I noticed her trying to meow at me and very little sound came out. It was like a hoarse sound. Could it be from the stragnling via the cord? Also, note that she just got over an upper respiratory infection. I stopped giving her the antibacterial 2 days ago, as my vet told me to do. So, is the loss of voice a relapse in the URI or was it because of strangulation? Also, she was meowing just fine yesterday. Thank you for your help people.
