Landlord Tenant Issue?
I moved into a furnished house on a 1 year lease. Before signing, I told the agent I had a lot of my own stuff and she said to put anything I didn't need into the garage and the owner would pick it up. She also changed the lease to say partially-furnished.
I filled the 1-car garage with the owner's stuff and wrote directly to her that it was ready for pick up. It has been over 2 months and despite promises to pick the stuff up, she has failed to do so.
My lease includes the garage and I need to put my car in their as well as my stuff - I'm having to rent a storage unit at $150 monthly because of this. What can I do?

6 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoConverting a wifi router into a wifi printer server?
Ok, so I have a Canon Muti Printer with a built in ethernet port, a WIFI network and an old, but working wifi router. I need the printer to work wirelessly but I don't want to buy a wifi printer server.

2. Can I add a network-ready inkjet to the Airport Express using the LAN port and still use the USB laserjet?
1 AnswerComputer Networking1 decade agoCopyright on old art question?
I want to make t-shirts using the artwork from the Roman Empire era. Of course, the original art is "owned" by a museum, but I found photographs of the art in an art book. Can I photograph the pages from this book and go forward with my shirts, since the original artist is long gone? Does the author of the book have protection from my photographing his photographs, even though the art work the author photographed is copyright-free??
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoPC mobo cpu fan went into high gear! PC will not boot at all.?
My pc's mobo cpu fan went into high gear and will not boot. There's also an alarm-sound coming from the mobo. I think the CPU is acting as if there is a thermal emergency. I've removed (one at a time troubleshooting style) RAM, PCI accessories, graphics card, card readers, CD-ROM, etc. and on each power up attempt, same thing. I finally unplugged a power header labled "ATX 12V" and this put the CPU fan back into normal speed and silenced the alarm. Of course, there's still no boot up.
Is my board fried? Is the CPU fried? Shoud I just buy a new mobo?
2 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoBurrowing tunneling garden destroyer - what is it?
I noticed one of my grassy shrubs starting to die off despite similar plants adjacent were doing well. As I was pulling dead or dried stalks out, I started poking my fingers in and around the root ball when I created a mini-cave-in of a tunnel. The tunnel is about the diameter of my fist and whatever animal did this had been eating the root ball of this plant like an apple. It does not appear that he was eating through the root ball to continue its tunnel, but was quite satisfied simply eating the root ball.
What kind of animal tunnels without leaving any mounds or raised earth (like a mole) and eats roots? I also discovered a gnawed-on sprinker riser pipe - it had been gnawed-on until a hole was made allowing water to jet out during the watering cycle. I dont' know if the same critter is responsible for both feats...does anyone out there know??
8 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoGift money and taxes?
I heard I can only receive something like $12K tax free. If my parents give me more than that amount, Must I claim the excess gift money as regular income? Since the IRS has no mechanism for parents to report the gift giving, how will the IRS know if I do not file a claim? In other words, is this an "honor system" situation?

11 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoProfessional pool maintenance - what to expect?
I recently bought my first home with a built-in pool. I have a weekly pool guy coming to maintain it on Mondays. By Thursday, the pool has a greenish color and clarity is reduced. On Monday, he spends about 10 minutes adding chems, a little brushing and netting, and leaves. By Tuesday the water quality is better, Wednesday pretty good, then it goes downhill from through weekend.
Shouldn't the pool be nice and clear for more than a couple of days? I don't have leaves or debris, my filter pump operates daily from noon til 8pm and the robot cleaner works for 2 hours each day.
5 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoMy motherboard is making an alarm sound!?
My ASUS mobo is making a low volume but shrill alarm sound. It happens as soon as I hit the power button and nothing happens beyond the alarm - no boot, no bios, no nothing - except the CPU fan goes into extra high RPM's. It's crazy. I've blown out every nook and cranny with compressed air, removed every accessory card, disconnected all the drives, and it still alarms. Any ideas before I junk the mobo?
5 AnswersOther - Hardware1 decade agoUsing a PC power supply to run a car stereo...?
I have an old PC with a 12 volt power supply. The label indicates that at positive 12 volts, it can supply 10 amps. I'd like to use it to "bench" test a car stereo.
First, will this power supply work? Second, there's a lot of wires and connectors coming out of the box...which one is simply the black and red wires for positive 12volts dc??
