Truck vibrates in 2 wheel drive and clunks in 4 wheel drive?
I have a 1999 GMC Yukon Denali. It is a old beater/money pit.
Just recently, my girlfriend was driving it home and she said she had it in 4 wheel drive and it just started making this "clunking noise" as she was going down the highway. I took it for a ride, and sure enough It clunks. It does this at all speeds. I don't know how to describe it, or where exactly it comes from, but it feels like it is coming from the middle to the rear of the truck. I guess with my lack of knowledge, I would describe it as if you were driving a vehicle with a square rear driver side tire. Yes, you can noticably feel the clunking too. Also, during my test, I switched it back into 2wd and noticed that once you get up to about 45+ miles per hour there is a pretty severe vibration throughout the vehicle. The faster the speed, the more it shakes. I am hoping these issues are the same problem, but with my luck...
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs7 years agoCan you easily fix a laptop without a hard drive?
I got a laptop from a coworker who wanted to see if I can fix it. The laptop did not have a hard drive in it. It is a Toshiba with XP. There are no recovery or install disks with the computer. I was wondering if it is easy or would even be possible to replace the hard drive and get it working again. I am assuming that without the disks, I cannot load windows back on it, but could possibly get ubuntu or another linux OS? I have some computer/tech knowledge, but more on the programming side and less on the hardware end.
5 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks8 years agoRunning Lights on a trailer with 4 wire harness?
I have a 4 wire harness from my Buick Park avenue to the trailer. Both turn signals work and brakes work however the running lights do not. I believe the running lights are the brown wire on the harness, and also the brownish/purple wire on the car tail lights. The voltage tester shows power through this brown wire both in the car and on the other side of the trailer harness. Would I find my problem if I pulled the wiring out of the trailer frame?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years agoIf I have a bath fan without a light, can I install a bath fan/light combo without rewiring?
My bathroom has an exhaust fan in the ceiling without a light. If I buy a more powerful fan that has a light, can I use both features without running more wires for the light?
4 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)8 years agoCould exhaust leak cause poor gas mileage/check engine light?
I have a 99 toyota corolla. There is an exhaust leak near the engine. I have noticed a decrease in mileage since I bought it 2 years ago, also my check engine light came on a while back. I had it scanned and it was the same code that would be displayed if the gas cap was missing.
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs10 years agoWhy does a USB wireless "dongle" lose internet connectivity?
I have 2 friends using these. One a Linksys and one a Netgear. Both have same problem, they lose their connection sporadically while surfing the internet. They resolve the problem instantly by unplugging and plugging the "dongle" back in. They are not sharing the same internet connection. Is this a common problem for these USB adapters?
1 AnswerComputer Networking1 decade agoWhat weight oil should I be running in my Shadow 1100?
I live in MN. When the temp is in the 60's it tends to not start as easily as when it's warm. Would using a different weight of oil help this? If so, what weight would work best.
3 AnswersMotorcycles1 decade agoIm looking to work in a restaurant with health insurance. Anybody work at Perkins or Don Pablos with this Ins?
I am looking near St. Paul MN. I want health benefits, preferable available to part time employees while I continue looking for my career. I have plenty of kitchen experience so i can get a job, but I NEED the insurance. Perkins and Don Pablos both offer benefits after 1 month. This is what i would prefer. Does anyone know about the quality of the benefits? I have a pre-existing condition, so any individual insurance (not through work) will cost me about $500 per month, I already looked into this.
1 AnswerInsurance1 decade agoMy insurance coverage (through father) ends in 2 weeks. I need insurance and have an existing condition.?
I think it is going to be hard and expensive to get covered for health insurance with an pre-existing condition. I looked into Cobra and found that they do not need to cover people with existing conditions. I live in MN.

7 AnswersMotorcycles1 decade agoDoes burning incense eliminate indoor cigarette odors?
I am renting an apartment for the summer and would prefer not to have to clean the walls, curtains, carpet, and comforters.
I can tolerate the smell, but it is not very pleasant.
