Terrible Threes

Just curious. what technique did you use? did it work? when did you do it? what was the birth outcome?

It seems like they are not getting enough information about normal human anatomy before they choose amputation.

I really don't want to know. This is my third and last baby. With the other two I found out, but this time I really want a surprise. So much so, that I don't want to have another ultrasound. Anyone else dead-set against finding out?

My DD will be 12 in June and she wants to take the bus to her day camp this summer, which is a few miles away. She will have to walk or ride her bike 15 blocks to the bus stop at 8:30 am, but then it is just one bus all the way to camp It gets over at 5:30 and then she can take the bus home. She has a cell-phone in case of emergency, but the idea still freaks me out. It would also conserve gas, which will probably be $4.00 a gallon by then!-( What do you think? Should I let her?

If someone is very strongly opinionated about a subject, then they are a zealot, fanatic, extremist or even a bigot. The term Nazi in this situation is just hate speech. Yahoo does not allow the use of the other "N" word or even the term bi-tch in reference to a female dog.

I know little about dogs, so bear with me.

We adopted two stray doxies that are mother and daughter about a year ago. The younger one is spayed, but the older one never was. We took them to the vet and she never even mentioned it! She had to have a breast lump removed and there is a scar from that, but no spaying scar. i didn't worry about it because she is kind of old. I had no idea dogs don't go through menopause.

Now, I am finding drops of blood all over the floors and finally realized that the mama dog must still be going through heat. I am now doing a bit more research and am finding conflicting advice about spaying old dogs.

Is it any more risky than the mastectomy or anesthetized dental cleaning?

Should i do it? She has NO contact with male dogs at all.

If not, what are you supposed to do about the mess?

I am more off a cat/ rat person, but we love these little dogs and kind of expected more information from the vet (guess we should find a better one! LOL!-)

Seriously people. Do you really think cutting a baby's penis to "look like dad" is logical? What kind of dad has a tiny penis with no pubic hair? Is it really so hard to tell a kid

(if he ever asks) "daddy had an operation on his penis, but we knew it was not necessary when you were born."

Why is this still being perpetuated as a legitimate reason to permanently alter a child?

My son will be 3 in February and I think he still needs naps. He's never been really regular about the time off day he takes a nap, but he usually needs one and is fiercely cranky by the evening if he doesn't take one. But, it is getting harder and harder to get him to fall asleep. Even in the car, which was always my saving grace, he will stay awake.

What resources do you recommend?

There have been a lot of questions lately about when is the right time to pierce baby's ears. i don't understand why someone would feel the need to do this. I am not judging here. Can you explain why this is done? I know its popular in some cultures, but WHY?

I am curious as to what the rationale is behind these two statements; (paraphrased from different sources)

"babies should be weaned when they get teeth"

"if they can ask for it they are too old to breastfeed."

I seriously don't understand how anyone can actually logically defend these statements. (They were not presented as opinion, but as stone-cold facts.)

Can anyone explain the reasoning behind such ideas?

So, my son is way too big for his changing taable, and we really don't have room for it anymore. But, he also is a wiggler and escape artist when being changed.

I also use a wipes warmer with water to dip washcloths in to wipe and have the diapering apparatus arranged on the table.

What do you do for your toddler's changes? I am at a loss when trying to figure out what to do with all the stuff if I get rid of the table.

He is working on potty training, but we have a ways to go yet.

She's only 10, but she likes to dress up sometimes; especially when she is playing drums in her band. today she came downstairs with blue eyeshadow on and it looked very disturbing. i thought i might get her a little eyeshadow kit as a stocking stuffer. What colour scheme would be best? I have no idea, as i don't wear makeup (too many years wearing gobs of it in theatre. Lol!) and i am quite pale with lighter hair.

So many people give this as an excuse to cut up babies. Vulvas have a lot more hiding places for funk and people don't chop them off routinely. With a whole penis It's just retract, rinse, replace right? Why do American parents think that is so difficult?
