My best friend's birthday is on Monday, but that is the day before finals and we have a full day of school. Because of that I can't really do much on her actual birthday. On thursday, when our last final is done we are planning on going downtown chicago with the birthday girl, three of my friends and I. How do I make it so she feels like it is a birthday partyish thing. What are some surprises I could do while there, or on the way?

I'm a sophomore and my best friend is turning 16, but I don't want to give her her final gift on her actual birthday because the party is this weekend. What is something small I could drop off at her house on her actual birthday? Something unique and personal, but along the lines of a cake or some small gift.
