• I want to add WinXP to my Macbook using a Dell System Restore CD... Will it work?

My Mac allows me to run both WinXP and Mac OSX via Bootcamp. How can I achieve this?

I have a CD with XP on it...

The CD label reads: "This software is already installed on your computer. Only use this CD to reinstall the operating system on a Dell computer... This CD is not for the reinstallation of programs or drivers."

Obviously the CD is for a Dell. However, would the WinXP thats on the CD work for what I am trying to accomplish?

Has anyone done this with a CD like this before??

  • Windows Vista - Everytime I download a program (firefox, zune, or anything) where does it go?

No matter what we download to the computer, we can't find it. We tried to download Mozilla Firefox, it did. But where is it?! We tried to download Zune from the actual CD. But where is it going to?

Windows XP sends stuff to your desktop to finish installation. But Vista doesnt tell you anything. I cant even find the Temporary Folder...

Where is everything going??? And how do we find it. Computer Searching doesnt show anything but I know it's there...

    HELP!

  • Is there a way to find your software's "product key" on your PC?

I lost the installation disk to my Macromedia Dreamweaver, which had the product key on the cd case. Now I need to copy the program to my new computer but I need the key. How do I go into my PC (hard drive) and locate that info? Is it possible?

  • I had 2 PC's connected to the internet via a router. Storm made small power surge & only 1 PC can get online!

both pc's connected to internet fine before today. both were powered on when i left. my bf was on his when the storm hit... mine was on standby. a minor power surge occurs and now his computer's ethernet port won't light up. hence, his connection to the internet has been compromised.

MY pc is running just fine and is still connected to the internet. I have visited his "Network Connections" and it says 'local cable unplugged' or something. the cables were in just fine on both pc's.

naturally i have reset both his computer and the modem. but to no avail...

    HELP PLEASE :(

  • What's the going rate to manage someone's e-commerce site for them without charging too much or too little?

My client has a credit consolidating site and her webmaster has resigned the position. I can effectively handle the position so she sends me tasks like updating her newsletters, site design updates, data changes within site, etc. She pays me for each individual task like $50 a pop or so. That's cool I guess. But I think a contract would be better like if she paid me every 2 weeks to be the webmaster. Webmasters help! I'm going into this field and would like to know what ok and not ok ya know? THANKS!

  • how can I post html on a profile page that only allows text?

i have quite a few profile pages online and most of them allow you to input your own text in most areas. but when i use html, all that appears is the text. so to get creative i use ASCii art but that sucks! Is there ANY way possible to break those barriers?

OK, so i have 2 computers an ethernet hub and a ethernet modem. I connected the modem to the hub and then one computer to the hub. Connection is fine. But when I connect the 2nd computer to the hub, only one stays connected or neither at all. Both systems are running on Windows XP. Any suggestions?

  • In HTML, text between <b> </b> is how you make it bold. Whats the language called when bold is

I know html pretty well but some sites don't respond to html when you add it into "text areas" like on chat profile pages or chatboxes. But there IS a language that uses brackets to define text/image attributes instead of the common "<>" in HTML. Anyone know how/where online i can learn how to use that?
