I want to use my 3cfm vacum pump to pull all the freon GAS VAPOR from my a/c system the vacum has an exhaust port which can be routed via a line to a storage tank for later use.The plan is to put a 30hg vacum on the tank ,allow the tanks vacum to pull the gas into the tank, once the pressure equalizes between the tank and the a/c system turn on the vacum pump to get the remaining vapor into the tank. Can someone tell me if this will work?
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoFord orifice tube swap?
Smaller or Larger for colder air ? We have a 1992 Crown Victoria LX really nice car for its age, at any rate we live in South Florida where it gets hotter than a $2 rifle this time of year an we want to be freezing when we're cruising round town, I've heard that changing the size of your orifice tube can do the trick,(rule out the rest of the system its all new we just want to know about orifice tube size before we reassemble everything for an extra advantage) however don't know if its go with a smaller one or larger one for less pressure drop. Is there an experienced individual out there that can help us out with this ? Not too worried about evaporator freeze ups because the ambient cabin air temp is well into the 90s if not 100+ & at night I'd simply use it less to prevent freeze ups, but as for day time operation we really need HEEEEEEEELP !!!
