This girl and I are graduating in a couple weeks. I've know her for about three years and had a crush on her for almost 2 years. She told me some time back she was a lesbian but when i observe her, i doubt it, so im not too sure. anyway we're causal friends and hang out in school. throughout those years, I was extra nice to her, bought her gifts.etc... I haven't spoken to her for some time now but i will see her at the graduation ceremony so i'm thinking of confessing to her in a letter. i've not too sure what to say but the main gist is:

It means alot that you're reading this now. i wanted to confess to her for sometime but never dared to. since we're graduating, i don't want to hold it back any longer. and i want to tell her in person but i know ill get tongue tied. however this letter is from the bottom of my heart.

Assignment: Is conscience a more powerful motivator than money, fame, or power?

Conscience, the inner voice inside of us that tells us what is right and wrong is absolutely a more powerful motivator than worldly pleasures suck as money and fame. Although some people cynically view humans as selfish and egoistic, history gives us myriad examples of altruists. People such as Nightingale, Mother Theresa, and even Steve Jobs are such examples.

Florence Nightingale who was born in 1820 is just one example of a person who sacrificed her own welfare and comfort to help people in need. Although she was born into a wealthy family who believed that the marriage and childbearing were the appropriate paths for her, she refused several marriage proposals I order to follow her conscience. During the Crimean War, she helped look after wounded soldiers selflessly. In addition to doing the usual nurse responsibilities, she took time at night to talk to the soldiers; this altruistic act earn her the name “the Lady with the Lamp.”

Another example is Mother Theresa, She gave up her live and all her possessions and founded The Missionaries of Charity in London. This organization which provided not only food and lodging but also healthcare to victims of chronic diseases, ran on Mother Theresa’s motto “Wholehearted and free service to the poorest of the poor.”

Steve Jobs, founder and CEO of Apple Inc. is a great example of a philanthropist. He created a charity program called “Global Fund.” This project provided healthcare for victims of HIV and AIDS by using money from sales of specially manufactured electrical products. Today Steve Job’s “Global Fund” is the largest organization in the world that supports HIV and AIDS victims.

One can immediately refute the view that humans are inherently selfish when one sees the selfless acts of service performed by these remarkable individuals. Indeed, we should too, do out part to serve our society because the world needs more of such people.

Assignment: Do Changes That Make Our Lives Easier Not Necessarily Make Them Better?

Changes in our lives have definitely made them more efficient and comfortable without having any detrimental side effects. Although some people say that changes are only bad and insist on sticking fast to traditions, all of them admit to own either a mobile phone or a computer. I believe that if we are to improve our lives, we not only have to accept changes readily, but also adapt to them regardless of whether these changes are tangible ones such as computers and laptops or intangible ones such as online encyclopedias or search engines.

Apple Inc which was founded in April 1976 by Steve Jobs is, I believe, one of the significant companies to have bettered our lives through the innovation of computers. Although their first computer, the Apple Lisa which was released in 1982 was not only inefficient and bulky but it also sold for a hefty price of ten thousand dollars, Apple is one of the world’s fastest and most sleekest computers today. In addition, their minimizing of production cost and their bulk manufacturing process has allowed everyday users to own their own computer at affordable prices.

Wikipedia, which is non-profit online encyclopedia that is accessible to any with a computer is an example of another innovation which led to a change that also made our lives easier. Having more than 250,000,000,000 articles in 286 languages has allowed more almost 400,000,000,000 people worldwide to look up information with just a click of the mouse; something I believe our ancestors dared not even to think about.

But what happens if you want to look something up on Wikipedia but forget the websites URL(uniform resource locator)? Don’t sweat, just use Google Search! Google Search was launched by Google in 1997 to help users search for files and documents online and view them systematically by using a technology known as “PageRank.” In addition to this intelligent search portal, users can also check weather forecasts, stock market changes, and even plan their day’s journey using clear and easy-to-understand maps provided by Google. Indeed we can see how Wikipedia and Google have made our lives more efficient.

To summarize, I believe that it is absolutely erroneous to say that changes are, in any way, detrimental to our lives. Just by observing a few interrelated innovations, one can see that they have brought us nothing but positive changes that have helped us live more efficiently. Thus, I believe we can learn an important lesson from the maxim “the old must leave before the new can come.”

What the best and cheapest way to do so? i believe the main problem lies with the door. as there are gaps at the sides, and its pretty hollow. In addition to sticking some foam around the door to fill the gaps, is there anything i can stick on the door to make in more solid(I don't like the idea of sticking egg cartons on it)? My budget would be less than $80, cause i could get a better door for just a bit more.

Hi, im size 41, but i can to cram my feet into a size 35 shoe(converse sneakers), its quite painful, but i find it really comfy and cute. I've tried wearing them out, but it was so painful i could barely walk.i wear them at home and can last in them for about 2 hours before it gets really painful, i also sleep in them every night.
