I am currently attempting to understand how Active Directory functions and had the following questions. I would appreciate if someone could advice in examples what they mean exactly assuming I have no knowledge of Active Directory.

    2. What is a domain?

    3. Where does a site fit into the picture? I assume a site a physical location.

    4. I assume that an organisational unit fits into a domain.

When creating groups, what do the following scopes mean and how they fit into the picture?

    1. What is a Global Group?

    2. What is a Universal Group?

    3. What is a Domain Local Group?

  • IP Classful Addressing?

I'm having a little trouble understanding IP addressing and the need to subnet. Now I know that the most frequently used IP addresses used fall between the A - C classes with the default subnet masks being 255.0.0.0/8, 255.255.0.0/16 and 255.255.255.0/24. I am also aware that there are reserved internal IP addresses e.g. 10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.254

    1. Why does one need to subnet?

    2. What's the different between the network mask and subnet mask?

    3. When do you subnet and how do you know what subnet mask you need to allocate assuming the example I have to set up an internal network using the IP address 192.168.0.0/24. I assume I can use the same example in the real world using an allocated static IP address.

I appreciate any help for me to start with and would truly appreciate it if I could chat with a network expert online e.g. GChat

  • Treadmill Walking Deck?

The walking deck on my treadmill cracked and I recently replaced it on my own with a MDF board which I found from research is what treadmill manufacturers use. I have however been unable to coat the MDF seeing I can't find the appropriate coating where I live. Can I use carnauba wax to help reduce the friction and assist with the dissipation of heat?

  • Weights/Cardio?

I am looking at getting a toned body and have been running everyday (5.5 KMs) for the past 3 weeks. I did change my regimen to running alternate days this week so that I could incorporate weights as I'm usually tired to do weights after a run. I was wondering which programme works best i.e. run everyday followed by weights or run alternate days and weights on other days. Also since I travel often, it breaks the cycle. What excercises can I adopt to achieve the same resuls while I'm traveling without the need of weights i.e. dips, push ups, etc. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

  • WorkOut Scehdule?

  • Working Out Everday?

I am looking at getting a lean and toned body. I am slim but have areas of body fat I need to lose (lower abs and lower back). These are the areas I am having the hardest time losing fat.

I have started working out everyday for the past 3 weeks and my workout includes a 5 KM run, followed by 100 leg raises and 100 crunches, followed by 2 reps (each) of weights (squats and bar bells). I am obviously trying to increase the intensity of each work out from week to week.

    1) How beneficial is it to work out everyday with the programme above?

    2) What else can I do better?

    3) What else should I incorporate into my workout?

My overall goal is to be lean, toned and have a washboard stomach and a well developed back.

  • Slower Digestion?

I have been told in the past that one shouldn't have a bath/shower after eating (e.g. lunch/dinner) since it affects digestion (it slows it down). Is this true?

  • Hard Drive Imaging?

I am currently running a small network off a Windows 2003 server and need to clone the server so that I can set up a secondary server prior to taking down the primary server. Now the secondary server has completely different hardware and I need to be able to image the primary server to the secondary server and vice versa if the need arises. The image has to account for all existing applications, Active Directory, etc.

I have looked at a number of solutions from Acronis, Paragon, etc however since I am on a budget I am looking for an alternative solution.
