Can a employer say an employee voluntarily quite even if the employee has doctor's note?
My friend works for a local college in Nashville. My friend has been off work for about 3mos due to the death of her mother. Which she had documentation from her doctor that she was to not work until a certain date. She went to work for a week & all of a sudden started fainting & loosing consciousness. She went into the hospital. Her doctor wrote a note to be off work because they thought/think she is having seizure. She is not able to drive due to her condition which is still unknown. She just received a letter from her employer stating per the employer she has voluntarily quite. She has documentation stating the doctor has written off work & the employerr is aware of these doctor notes. Can the employer do that to her?
6 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoHas anyone heard of someone's stomach wrapping around the heart?
I know it sounds crazy... My aunt was having serve heartburn so she had an x-ray done. The x-ray showed that her stomach had moved (wrapped) around her heart. She goes in for surgery 5/24. The doctor had never seen anything like it before. I tried to look it up but have yet to find anything on it. I guess if your intestines can twist & move why not the stomach too. Any conclusions on what is going on????

4 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agoFriend on painkillers......?
My friend has been taking painkiller for about 3 years. I have known her for over a year. She has told me she wants off, but trying to get treatment- well, we've called local outpatient treatment offices and they will NOT accept her insurance. She went to her doctors last week and instead of asking for help, she got her same painkillers. I know (think) she really wants off, but she gets really sick when she runs out of her meds. She is trying...or is she...
Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

My friend was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and went on short-term disability for 2-3 week. When he went back to work, his manager told him he was now considered a part-time employee instead of full-time. Where can I find additional info on this issue... Can the employer do that???

EX: full-time status to part-time status
My friend works in retail and recently was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. He was a full-time employee until he came back to work to find out that his manager demoted him to part-time. He has only been on short-term disability for 2-3 week...

I have an Associate's degree in HealthCare Office Management. I can do nothing with it. I currently work in retail and sales positions are all I am getting calls for. I can't afford to go back to school so I guess I am just stuck.
