  • What is the name of this manga about a Shinigami named Shiro?

The manga is only like 20 chapters, it's shoujo...

I don't recall the name. There's a girl who is going to die and her shinigami who she calls Shiro (because his hair is white), and Shiro falls in love with her and ends up saving her in the end by dying for her...

I'm not really sure. That's what I'm planning to do next year for college. One website gave me these categories, but I'm not really sure that my Japanese minor would fit into any one of these besides news reporter.

  • How does my friend stay so thin?

My friend and I have been the same weight for a long time (~110 lbs) and we're both 5'7", 17 year old girls. But within the last six months she suddenly dropped ten pounds! She doesn't exercise, and she eats normal portions... She doesn't have an eating disorder either. I have no idea how she did it! Could it just be smaller portions? Her family has a history of slow metabolisms, so this isn't really making sense to me.

  • Pre-calc "Multivariable Linear Systems" (Matrix) Problem (number 3)?

Pre-calc "Multivariable Linear Systems" (Matrix) Problem (number 3)?

"In such and such Super Bowl... the Patriots beat the Panthers by a score of 32 to 29. the total points scored came from 16 different scoring plays, which were a combination of touchdowns, extra--point kicks, two-point conversions, and field goals worth 6, 1, 2, and 3 points, respectively. There were four times as many touchdowns as field goals and two times as many field goals as two point conversions. How many touchdowns, extra point kicks, two point conversions, and field goals were scored during the game?"

    So far I have:

    T+E+TP+F= 16

    6T+E+2TP+3F=61 (total points)

The third equation is where I get stuck.... T=4F, F=2TP ....

Where do I go from here?

  • Pre-calc "Multivariable Linear Systems" (Matrix) Problem (number 2)?

"A coffee manufacturer sells a ten pound package of coffee that consists of three flavors of coffe. Vanilla flavored coffee costs $2 per pound, hazelnut coffee costs $2.50 per pound, and mocha flavored coffee costs $3 per pound. The package contains the same amount of hazelnut coffee as mocha coffee. The cost of the ten pound package is 26. How many pounds of each type of coffee are in the package?"

    So far I have:

    V+H+M= 2.6 ($26/10lbs)

    2V+2.5H+3M= 26

    H- M= 0 (Because h=m and thus h-m=0)

When I plug this into my graphing calculator using plysmlt2 *my teacher told us to*, I get numbers that are not possible. What am I doing wrong?!

  • Pre-calc "Multivariable Linear Systems" (Matrix) Problem?

"A mixture of 5 pounds of fertilizer A, 13 pounds of fertilizer B, and 4 pounds of fertilizer C provides the optimal nutrients for a plant. Commercial brand X contains equal parts of fertilizer B and fertilizer C. Commercial brand Y contains one part of fertilizer A and two parts of fertilizer B. Commercial brand Z contains two parts of fertilizer A, five parts of fertilizer B, and two parts of fertilizer C. How much of each fertilizer brand is needed to obtain the desired mixture?

I have part of this problem down, with what I believe is no mistakes. So far I have:

    5A + 13B + 4C = 100 (100 because it's the "optimal amount of nutrients for a plant")

    B + C = X

    A + 2B = Y

    2A + 5B + 2C = Z

But when I plug this all into my calculator (My TI, using plysmlt2) I get answers that are not possible. What am I doing wrong?

  • How do I convince my mom and her fiance to let me move in with a friend?

My life isn't a sob story where I'm being beaten or whatever. My family is actually pretty okay. But my mom is getting married and moving about an hour away, taking my sister and myself with her. I go to a multi-county high school and I could continue to go there, however it's extremely far away and she won't let me drive on the freeway (I'm 16). I have contemplated moving in with a friend, and two of them have said I can defidently move in with them, but I've already mentioned it to my mom and she doesn't want to let me go. I don't have anything against her fiance, it's just I've lived in this county my whole life and I don't want to loose everything I've worked hard to gain. I've had to start over a lot because of moving around the county due to my parents divorce.

I just don't want to have to rely on my mom for rides everywhere. By moving she's ruining everything my sister and I have worked for and have ever known. I don't want to be emancipated from my mom because it would hurt her feelings, but how do I convince her to let me do my own thing? I would still visit her, and I could even move in with my step sister.

I can't move in with my dad because he's incapable of taking care of me. I could ask, of course, but I doubt he would let me because he's unable to take me places because he's crippled.

    So, what do I do?

    Please no rude comments.

  • Public school, or charter school?

    Public school, or charter school?

I know I already asked this, but I just wanted to ask it in a different way to see if there was more of a response

Okay well. I’ve been going to a charter school for five years. I was bullied out of that school in 8th grade, and went to a public junior high, which had a bad rep and I hated it. I don’t think all public schools are bad though, just because of that one.

Right now I’m at a really good charter high school. The education is great, but I don’t know if I’ll graduate because of all the classes they require I take. My friends aren’t being very nice about the fact that I’m busy with school work and stuff, mostly because they decide not to do it, even when I tell them it makes your future. It’s making me sad, that we don’t have the same interests anymore.

I like anime, like them, but that’s about the only thing. One of my friends from that group even, was cruel to me in eighth grade, and part of the reason I transferred. She’s falling back into her old habit of being cynical and punkish.

Another friend just always blames me for all his troubles and I’m getting sick of it. He’s always saying that I never push myself for opportunities. In the end I told him public school is a opportunity I’ll push for, and he just replied stating that if I cared about our friends I’d fight to keep the friendship alive or something like that. It’s just, we’ve all known each other for so long when we change or drift away, it’s a bit traumatic. I do care, but I’m just sick of it all.

The other friends have just slowly drifted away over time.

Over all, I’m not having a good time, and I’m sick of the teachers and students.

My mom got engaged last week, and we’re moving to a different town in the summer that has a new and fantastic public school. I’ve considered going, but I don’t know if I should, even if it’s closer then my current school. I’ve even made a pro and con list for each school *presented later*.

People are always telling me that public schools don’t have good opportunities, but I’m not entirely convinced. Just because I had a bad experience at one public school, doesn’t mean I’ll have a bad one at the rest.

    Pros of Public School:

    New Friends

    Fresh start

    More normal Teenage life

    Easier to graduate

    Closer to home

    Newer school

    Less busy schedule

    No uniform *hehe*

    New experience

    Cons of public school:

Repeat of past experience at Jr. High (Terrible semester)

Running away from problems(That’s what my friends say I’m doing)

    Old friends

    Longer Classes

    Problem with credit recovery(?)

    Pros of charter school:

    Friends I already have

    Better education

    Better future opportunities

    Small environment

    Short classes

    Cons of charter school:

    Farther away

    Hard to graduate

    School schedule(timing, etc.)

    Dramatic

    Uniforms required

    More expensive

    Sheltered environment

  • Should I go to Public school, or stay at my Charter school?

I've been in a charter school for about five years, since fifth grade. At one point, in 8th grade, I was bullied out midway through the year, and turned to a local junior high, which had a bad reputation. I had a terrible semester there, and hated it. Still, I don't think all public schools are like that.

Right now I attend a highly rated Charter school a few towns over from my home. The education is great, though they require a great many things in order to graduate, which strains me. Lately, my friends have been cruel and unsupportive of my life decisions and schedule, such as choosing to finish homework or going to work instead of hanging out. I've told them continuously that I'll never get anywhere in life if I don't do my school work, though they don't agree. I still manage to have fun while doing homework, though they don't understand. It's been dragging me down, since they don't seem to understand why I'm busy.

My mom was recently engaged, and we will be moving to a town half of an hour away from my school. I still have the means of transportation, even if I would have to get up early. However, in the town I will be moving to, there is a fairly new and highly rated public school I'm considering attending. I'd really like to graduate earlier, which I could do at the public school.

A lot of people have told me that public schools don't give as many opportunities, though Charter schools weren't around in my parents age and many were highly successful. I'm just not sure what to do. Should I choose to stay at my school? Because I'm rather sick of all my teachers and the students at the moment. My school is very dramatic.

Or, should I choose public school? It'd be easier to graduate and such. Plus it's closer to my new home.
