  • How can I repurpose an old kodak brownie box camera?

I have an old, and fairly worn/rusty kodak no.2 A brownie box camera. (I have taken out the inside to make a box with straight edges) and my intention was to repurpose it for a craft fair but I'm stuck for ideas. My original thought was a photo box but it isn't big enough and my only other idea was a desk caddy.

Does any one have any ideas either for repurposing it or decorating it (or both!)

    Thanks in advance

  • Are my chest and jaw pains related?

I started with chest pains 2 weeks ago, Ive been to A&E and my GP about it and while neither know what the cause is, they dont believe its anything serious and have given me some pain killers. (oral morphine and naproxen). Today I've noticed a pain at the top of my jaw (in front of my right ear) particularly when drinking from a glass or can.

Any ideas what could be the cause, or if the two could be linked?

  • Does anyone have any inspiration for my drawing?

So my friend (male, 29) wants me to do a drawing for his birthday (in about a month). My idea at the minute is to draw a female body, made up of part skin, part skeletal structure, part muscular structure and part machine (cogs etc)

I can draw pretty much anything but I need to have pictures. Should I just draw the woman standing still or what? Any other suggestions?

    Thanks

  • Strenuous workout - quick results?

I am looking for a workout that will give me quick results. Targeting all areas, but my two main focus areas are abs and thighs. Yes, I am female, but I usually prefer 'male' workouts. I am no stranger to exercise and would like a fairly strenuous workout that will allow me to see visible results relatively quickly.

    Thanks for any help.

  • What music is similar to Arctic monkeys and Red hot chilli peppers?

I am looking for a CD for someone, who enjoys music such as red hot chilli peppers and arctic monkeys, but I dont want to get him something he will already have so Im looking for similar music, mainstream or more alternative.

My original idea was some of John Frusciante's music as he is the lead singer of red hot chilli peppers, but does his own stuff. However I have only found non lyrical music by him?

    Thanks for your help!

  • Can anyone think of any good sketchbook themes?

I am about to start mt A2 art course and pretty much have free choice for the theme for my first sketcbook. I want to do something that is open to interpretation and therefore wont get too boring since im working on it until christmas! So for example, time, emotions, facial expressions, instead of something more closed like trees or, i dont know, cats?!

a list of as many ideas as you can come up with would be great :) thanks all!

  • Getting my hair cut. Inspiration?!?

I am getting my hair cut today (woohoo!) haha, anyways!

It's currently shoulder length and is thick and wavy/curly.

(if you want to see a picture there's one on my flickr) http://www.flickr.com/photos/amy5272/7222134336/in...

but the problem is that i get so so bored with my hair. i used to dye it red etc but im trying not to now because it makes it so dry and brittle, so does anyone have any cute ideas for a fresh way to get it cut? fringe or lengths. Ultimately though, IM TRYING TO GROW IT so that it's nice and long for zee ball next year! :D

thank you for any help :)

i know that sounds like a weird question!

But basically, im starting training a lot more and generally I'm a fit and flexible person, however when it comes to sit ups, while i have no trouble doing them, going back down to starting position makes my hips/pelivis make a horrible clicking/crunching noise and im kind of scared of doing them incase im damaging my hips D:

  • Microwave chocolate mug cake to fit these criteria!?

I'm looking for a microwave chocolate cake in a mug recipe.

But not just any microwave chocolate cake in a mug recipe!

It needs to use cocoa powder and NOT chocolate (nope, not even chocolate chips - i dont have any in!)

It needs to be gooey and not dry. syrup? milk? eggs? all or any of those would be fine

It needs to not use excessive quantities of ingredients. half of the recipes i've found require more ingredients for one mugful than I usually put in an entire cake!

Think you have the perfect one? good. i want to hear it! :D

    thanks and much love :)

  • What is a CHEAP chocolate microwave mug cake recipe?

I've seen lots of recipes for things like 5 minute chocolate mug cakes, which look and sound great, but when I look at the ingredients, it usually requires as much for one mugful as is usual for a whole cake!

are there any that dont need such high quantities of ingredients because it can work out quite expensive!

    thanks :)

  • Are the same exercises used to lose weight as to gain muscle?

I'm a healthy 17 year old female, but I've noticed that I put on a little weight over easter. I am not really interested in dieting, my theory being that if I eat the same as I always do, but exercise more, my weight should decrease. I've been doing a lot of exercise focusing on the abdominal muscles and have noticed a slight difference in muscle, but what I want to know is whether the same exercise will get rid of excess fat as well or if i need to do different exercises for that?

The exercise I'm currently doing is things like crunches, press ups, the plank, sit ups, v - sits etc.

    Thanks for your help :)

  • What are some good ways to optimise my work out?

I am quite healthy, with an 'ideal' BMI (I'm female and 17) but I've put on a little weight over Easter! I'm not particularly interested in dieting (!) although if anyone has an little tips that won't change my eating habits too much then I might try them! I'm more interested in the exercise.

I think my problem is that I eat the same as I always have but I no longer do all the exercise I used to for one reason or another.

I find running boring and haven't been on a bike in about 5 years and as I'm saving for an expedition to Borneo (one of the reasons I need to get fit) I don't really want to be spending money on the gym and swimming too much (I currently go swimming once a week) I want some cardio/aerobic type exercises to do at home. Things like crunches, sit ups etc. Does anyone know what the best ones are or have any tips on how to optimise on what I'm already doing?

I am quite good at cardio-type exercise and quite often follow 'guys' workouts so don't worry about difficulty.

Sorry I wrote so much and thanks for any tips :)

  • What's a good design theme for customising shorts?

    Hi,

I'm cutting a pair of old jeans into shorts and would love to customise them with embroidery. IMy plan is to draw the design in pencil first and then embroider over the top. I'd really like to have a theme for the design. One idea was a nautical theme, but I couldn't really think of much apart from an anchor? Another was a bird and a falling feather, but again, i can't think of anything else to go with it, and a third was a retro music theme, but, the only things I came up with for that were headphones and a cassette tape.

Does anyone have any other ideas, or ideas on the above?

    Thanks for your help :)

  • What colour dip dye should I get?

I have blonde-y/light brown hair which goes a little ginger-y and highlighted in the summer. I always used to dye it, red then brown then blonde etc! but its so bad for your hair so i stopped, but i've decided to go for a dip dye as when it's grown i can just get it cut off. but i can't decide what colour to get. I am not a fan of pink, but pretty much anything else. thanks :)
