I bought a Yaesu VX-170. I have a call sign I have not used yet (KD0DYJ). I can find repeater freqs in my area. Is there a trick to accessing one, or do I just get on the right freqs and give my call sign? Is there a trick to this?

I have heard Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana called midwestern too. They can't be! They are east of the Mississippi River, therefore they are "out east" Minnesota is "up north" as it borders on Canada. It isn't midwestern like a lot of news reporters have been sating after the bridge colapse. Do you agree?

I have re-formatted my iPod and reloaded the songs. They play fine on iTunes, but about 500 of 3000 songs don't play completely. Is there a chkdsk-type utility I can run to see if the iPod disc is bad? Or is there another reason this is happening?

I recently bought a 30gig iPod from Apple to replace my older 4 gig mini. I had also moved my library of music from one computer to another. When I play some somgs that I bought from iTunes on the iPod, they don't play all the way and go to the next somg after a few seconds or a couple of minuted. They play correctly in the iTunes application, though How can this get fixed?

There seems to be a problem somewhere with the power adaptor jack on the laptop itsself. Sometimes whn I plug my adaptor in, it causes the Targus adaptor to turn off. If that doesn't happen, I have to wiggle the cord around until I find a sopt where it will run off the adaptor and charge the battery. I can't hold it there for very long. Also the adaptor still turns off at odd times too. What is causing this and what can I do about it?

I will be visiting my parent's home town of Ponca City, Oklahoma for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. I will be decorating the graves of my relatives. In the same cemetery there are 7 graves of RAF pilot trainees killed in crashes during their training. There was plenty of crying on the news tonight involving dead soldiers and gang related murders. The death of a soldier is never good, and the death of an innocent because of the idiotic violence of others is cause for grief. Yet I have thought that intense grief and tears are meant to be kept in the family or in private. Greif is not a public thing to be done in fromt of TV cameras. Let me know if you agree,or if I am off base on this.
