I'm retired from the upholstery trade and was also a part-time weekend musician from my early teens and into my late 40s. I'm now writing and recording Gospel music in my studio, and what I mean by Gospel music; the Lord never changed my musical style he just changed the message. Now having more time to spend with family and friends, I really enjoy my grand children & great grand children.

  • Should the ta payer be forced to pay for embyro research ?

Obama's Executive Order Forcing Taxpayer Funded Embryonic Stem Cell Research Ignores Will of NJ Voters -- NJ Citizens Urged to Contact the White House

MEDIA ADVISORY, March 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- On November 6, 2007, New Jersey voters soundly rejected a scheme to borrow $450 million for stem cell research because our citizens did not want more debt and higher taxes for impractical and immoral embryonic stem cell research. It was the first time in 17 years that the voters of New Jersey defeated a public question. On March 9, 2009, President Obama signed an Executive Order forcing citizens from NJ and all across American to federally subsidize embryonic stem cell research through their tax dollars.

"Just 16 months ago, the voters of New Jersey said NO to government-sponsored embryonic stem cell research. Unfortunately, the President's action ignores the express will of NJ voters and will make taxpayers complicit in subsidizing research activities that they do not support," said Marie Tasy, Executive Director of New Jersey Right to Life.

"It is fiscally and morally irresponsible for the federal government to be involved in the subsidizing of stem cell research that has never produced cures and involves the killing of human embryos," said Tasy. She urged NJ citizens to contact the White House to express their outrage over Obama's decree forcing taxpayers to fund human embryo killing, especially since voters here delivered such an overwhelming and resounding rejection of this unethical and impractical research at the polls.

  • Why are most people offended when you mention Jesus?

The “Too Easily Offended” Culture (an article I found interesting)

    October 19, 2008

I sometimes get frustrated with how easily people get offended today - particularly when it comes to religious topics. I've been in a couple of situations lately when the issue of Christianity came up and one person in the group nearly became apoplectic. They became so offended we had to change the subject. The thought occurred to me that over my career, I've filmed in more than 40 countries, and seen many religious rites and services of all kinds. I've seen voodoo and Santeria ceremonies in the Caribbean and South America, animism in Africa, and strange, hybrid Catholic-folk religion services near the headwaters of the Amazon. But in all those experiences, I can't ever remember once being "offended."

What is it about our culture when we've become so easily offended? I have to admit that I don't see it when a Buddhist shares his faith. And we live in a time when it's political incorrect to have any issues with Islam (in some European countries it's illegal to criticize Islam.) So why is Christianity such a lightening rod? And why is it when you bring up the subject people get so bent out of shape?

It's an important question because the issue is a major obstacle to the continuing dialogue between people of differing faiths…

    Q. You make economic forecasts and analyze economic policy – what are you seeing with today’s economic crisis?

The world economies will eventually equilibrate. They will adjust themselves. It may take time, but problems tend to balance themselves out, prices adjust, people’s demands adjust to the production of the economy. It takes time, but the economy wants to get back to the place were it is relatively fully employed. And as long as people don’t keep making mistakes, or new problems don’t come along, economies tend to do that.

  • Your response on prop. 8 ?

Pro-Family Response to California Supreme Court Agreeing to Hear Challenges to People's Vote on Prop. 8

Thomasson: "If the court disobeys the constitution by voiding Prop. 8, it will ignite a voter revolt."

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Nov. 19 /Christian Newswire/ -- In response to today's decision by the California Supreme Court to hear the challenges to Proposition 8, the California Marriage Amendment, Randy Thomasson, president of Campaign for Children and Families, a leading California- based pro-family organization, issued the following statement:

"It's unfortunate that the judges are giving time to the mushy, subjective arguments of homosexual activists who reject the clear reading of the constitution and the clear reading of Proposition 8. If the court disobeys the constitution by voiding Prop. 8, it will ignite a voter revolt. It will also threaten the validity of all future constitutional amendments.

"The court is playing with fire by threatening to destroy the people's vote on marriage. The California Constitution clearly says that the voters have the right to alter the highest law of the land. It's the beauty of the American system of government. The four Supreme Court justices who unconstitutionally invented homosexual 'marriages' -- Ron George, Joyce Kennard, Kathryn Werdegar and Carlos Moreno -- seem to be ignoring the fact that the people get the last word, not the judges.

"The clear reading of the constitution, as well as California's legal and legislative history, tells us there is a world of difference between a constitutional amendment and a constitutional revision. Proposition 8 is a single-subject, voter-initiated amendment, not a legislature-initiated, multi-issue, whole-scale revision that alters many sections of the state constitution.

"If Prop. 8 gutted the constitution, why is it only one subject in one section of the constitution? If Prop. 8 doesn't stand, then our constitution doesn't mean anything, the people's vote doesn't mean anything, marriage has been utterly disrespected, and judges lied when they swore to uphold the constitution. Prop. 8 must stand, because the constitution is above the judges, not the other way around.

"Marriage is, was, and should always remain a natural, beautiful relationship between a husband and a wife. Marriage between a man and a woman is an essential, beneficial role model for children to emulate.

  • What are the facts behind HR 1592 hate crime bill?

    HR 1592 Hate Crime Bill

The House has passed an expansion of hate crimes legislation to include discrimination against gender, sexual orientation and disability. Though the measure succeeded with bipartisan support and is expected to make it through the Senate, President Bush has vowed to veto the bill, calling it unnecessary.

    Los Angeles Times:

A long-stalled bill that would expand the federal hate crime law to cover violent acts based on a victim’s gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability is headed for approval in the Democratic-controlled Congress but faces a White House veto threat.

The House on Thursday approved the measure, the first major expansion of the hate crime statute since it was enacted in 1968. Senate approval is expected soon, putting the controversial bill on the president’s desk for the first time since it was proposed nearly a decade ago.

Under intense pressure from conservative religious organizations to derail the bill, the White House on Thursday called it “unnecessary and constitutionally questionable,” issuing the latest in a string of veto threats aimed at the congressional Democratic majority.

    Louis Gohmert asked:

"If a minister was giving a sermon, a Bible study or any kind of written or spoken message saying that homosexuality was a serious sin and a person in the congregation went out and committed a crime against a homosexual would the minister be charged with the crime of incitement?" Artur Davis (D-AL) replied:"Yes"

Louis Gohmert asked:"if a minister preaches that sexual relations outside of marriage of a man and woman is wrong, and somebody within that congregation goes out and does an act of violence, and that person says that that minister counseled or induced him through the sermon to commit that act, are you saying under your amendment that in no way could that ever be introduced against the minister?

    Artur Davis (D-AL) replied:"No"

I also agree, that this hate crime bill needs to be clarified to the letter, as to what, and what is not, a hate crime.

There is much at stake here and when a bill such as this one is not clearly defined, we are only opening up a pandora's box that is open for any sort of interpretation of the law. In my opinion this so-called hate crime bill if passed without definition, would lend it self to silencing the pulpits across America for openly condemning homosexuality, which would lead to all sorts chaotic litigation in the courts, sending preachers, clergy, laymen etc. to prison for speaking out against homosexuality. I'm 100% against such a bill passing into law until clearly defined.

I say why not? There is more evidence to prove creation, than there is to prove the evolutionary theory and that is what it is a theory.

  • Are Christians under attack in America?

Madalyn Murray O'Hair was one of the litigants in the case of Murray vs. Curlett, which led the U.S. Supreme Court, in a 1963 decision, to ban organized prayer in public schools. The decision made O'Hair the country's most famous atheist and such a controversial figure that in 1964 Life magazine called her "the most hated woman in America." O'Hair founded the group American Atheists in 1963 and remained its leading spokesperson until 1995.

Schwarzenegger signs law outlawing terms perceived as negative to 'gays'

    Posted: October 13, 2007

    Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger

"Mom and Dad" as well as "husband and wife" effectively have been banned from California schools under a bill signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who with his signature also ordered public schools to allow boys to use girls restrooms and locker rooms, and vice versa, if they choose.

"We are shocked and appalled that the governor has blatantly attacked traditional family values in California," said Karen England, executive director of Capitol Resource Institute.

"With this decision, Gov. Schwarzenegger has told parents that their values are irrelevant. Many parents will have no choice but to pull their children out of the public schools that have now become sexualized indoctrination centers."

"Arnold Schwarzenegger has delivered young children into the hands of those who will introduce them to alternative sexual lifestyles," said Randy Thomasson, president of Campaign for Children and Families, which worked to defeat the plans. "This means children as young as five years old will be mentally molested in school classrooms.

"Shame on Schwarzenegger and the Democrat politicians for ensuring that every California school becomes a homosexual-bisexual-transsexual indoctrination center," he said.

  • I was a Catholic but I didn't know Jesus?

I was born and raised Catholic, but I did not know Jesus. What I mean by that is; I knew about him but I did not know him personally. As a Catholic I was always taught to pray to Mary in order to get to Jesus, and when I sinned, I was to confess my sins to the Priest and he would give a set of prayers to pray such as the Apostles creed and so many our Fathers, and so many Hail Marys, and then the following Sunday you take of the Holy Eucharist, then you are forgiven, until the next time.It wasn't until early 1970 that I received Christ into my heart and found out what it meant to really to have my sins forgiven forever, never to be remembered again through his death on the cross, and what it means to be 'Born Again' of his Spirit and that I can have a personal relationship with the creator of the universe.

This concept is at the very core of Jesus' teaching. In John 3:3 Jesus says "...I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that unless a person is Born Again (anew, from above,) he cannot ever see (know, be acquainted with, and experience) the Kingdom of God." (Amplified Bible) John 1:3-7

Please don't misunderstand, I don't hate Catholics, I love my brothers and sisters of the Catholic faith, I just no longer agree with their man made doctrines and traditions. I pray that other Catholics will take to heart what I have posted and consider a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, there is nothing to lose but more to gain.
