  • Fuse repeatedly blows?

The fuse that controls the gauges apparently has blown. It happened suddenly while driving a few days ago. I located the proper fuse, replaced it and thought all was good. Lasted about a day. Two more replacement fuses did not work at all. Does each individual gauge need to be checked? The tach, speedometer, fuel gauge, oil, water, battery, and PRNDL do not work. Is this an easy fix for an average local mechanic? How much should it cost? Thank you.

iphone is completely synced and backed up. wanted to do recommended software update. Tryed twice. Bar progresses a short way, then just sits there, last time just stayed that way all night. Finally had to cancel so I could go to work.

  • Email on iPad. Anyone have the solution?

The email settings on my iPad have been set up exactly like my iPhone, yet I continue to get the error message "Yahoo server unavailable". I've had the iPad about a month and have tried on different days, different times of the day, etc.

    Now what?

  • I just had the brakes on my pickup repaired. Now another question?

The repairs were badly needed so that is not the problem. Long ago when my pickup truck was newer (it's a 1995 Siverado), I could just tap on the brakes to start the stopping process or to turn off the cruise control. Now there is a lot of "play", "dead space" or whatever it is called. The brakes definitely stop the vehicle. There is no sound, no air in the line, just more "pushing time" required for the brakes to respond. What is the proper repair or adjustment that needs to be made to make the brakes more responsive?

    Thanks for your expertise>

  • How much are the toll roads from Ohare to North Michigan Avenue?

I need to know what to expect, approximately. Taxi fare, according to the Chicago Taxi Fare website, is $37.85 PLUS tolls. Are there any locals out there who know how much the tolls will be?

    Thanks so much.

  • How are settings changed on wireless router?

Everything was fine this morning when I left the apartment. I just moved so I had to register the new service with ATT. There was a connection problem so the service person had me push the reset button on the back of the wireless router. I felt like that was a mistake even while I was doing it and in fact it seems to have been a HUGE error. Everything works fine as long as I am dragging the ethernet cord around with me, but the router will not connect. It says the security settings do not match the network settings. This did not happen when I moved previously. I just plugged everything back in and was good to go.

Can anyone out there help me?

    Thank you.

  • I will be staying in a hotel that does not have wifi. I was told to bring a "data port" cable.?

Is that another name for the ethernet cable? If not, what do I need to take with me?

    Thanks

  • Advice and cost needed about u-joints and brakes for 1995 Chevy Silverado?

I have a 1995 Chevy Silverado, 152000 miles, that has developed a low roaring sound that seems to come from the rear end when moving forward. The mechanic proposed to "replace driveshaft center support bearing and check u-joints when driveshaft is removed". Part needed is the "center support bearing assembly".

Since the wheel bearings could be a source of the noise, I asked that they be checked. The report was that "right rear axle seal leaking, wheel cylinders leak, brake shoes soaked with grease. Recommend rear brake service package due to grease leaking onto rear brake lining". Parts recommended are pads/shoes, wheel cylinders for the 2 rear wheels, and a rear axle seal.

To the mechanics out there--Do these sound like reasonable solutions and recommendations? How much should this cost?

    Thank you!

  • Trip to Chicago - Need some suggestions for blues/jazz clubs?

I am planning a trip to Chicago in the fall. The dates are still undecided, but it will be some time in October. I want to go to some of the local blues clubs, especially those "hole-in-the-wall" type places. Also need other "don't miss" and "definitely avoid" tips. Where are the centrally located and safe hotels for two women travelers.

    Thanks
