  • Chilli Pepper Plants and Insects?

Every year I grow my own chillies. Oddly enough this abysmal UK summer , weather-wise, I have had the best crop from my few plants (Cayenne). But every year I have to spend too much time cleaning the leaves of small insects/eggs/larvae. Are these whitefly? I have resorted to chemicals but these seem to have little effect. They make the leaves sticky and eventually leaf dies. Would be grateful for any ideas on how to combat this problem.

  • Pensions and Working?

I am 64 years old and in receipt of state pension, pension credit and a private pension. My total income is approximately £1000 pcm which leaves me with approximately £280 pcm disposable income for my wife daughter and myself. Recently a friend offered me some work which would help me out a lot but I am wondering whether this would affect the money I receive from the DWP.

  • Why does my screen keep returning keep scrolling back to the top of the page?

When I go onto the internet and attempt to read a page that goes off the bottom of my screen, the screen always scrolls back to the top after a few seconds. I am convinced that this is something to do with the internet settings. Has anybody had this problem and found out how to resolve it?

  • How to get ID for children born abroad?

What is the easiest and cheapest way to get ID for my daughter? She came to this country in 1997. I have 4 Birth Certificates for, each of which have gross errors on them. One grossly mispells my surname, another has tippex on it and so on. When I brought her to this country, she was on both my ex-wife's passport and mine. These have long since expired. I do not know where to go from here. My daughter has been brought up in this country and I am a single dad. My ex-wife is African. I tried to open a bank account for my daughter today and they would not accept any of her birth certificates, despite the fact she has been at school in the UK since she was 4.

  • Child Support Agency? Useless Waste of Taxpayer's Money?

I have been a single dad for 7 years now. My ex-wife walked out on us as soon as she had permission to stay in the UK. In the time since then she has claimed Income Support/JSA, worked, lived with a partner since '02 and generally lived it up. I am obliged to take our daughter to her place every fortnight for the weekend to see her mother but she contributes nothing, neither financially nor in terms of our daughter's well-being. I have given the CSA details of when and where she has worked and they do nothing. I have friends in the opposite situation who are male but continually hounded for maintenance money. It has come to the point now where I don't even care about the money side of things, I just want the CSA to make some sort of show. Ring me back! Check out some of the names I have given them! This is shurely sexism at its worst!

  • My Kitten is 7 Months Old Now, But Still Can't "Miaow" Properly. Is This Normal?

It's a pathetic little squeak that sound more like a mouse. Our older cat could "miaow" at 7 months. I don't think it's a problem but is it normal and at what age should a cat start to "miaow"?

  • A Lard Tax?

Surely now that I am forbidden from smoking my pipe anywhere other the cupboard under the stairs, a new drive should be organised against fatties. Everywhere I go, I see great balls of lard stuffing themselves full of chips and MacShite Burgers, even giving them to their children. If I give my daughter a glass of wine or a tab, I am breaking the law (UK). But if I fed her beefburger and chips every day, thats OK. I find this completely gross! Obviously I am going to do none of these things as far as my daughter is concerned, but I strongly resent having to go outside to smoke so that some lardball can wolf down a plate of chips in peace. If the government is serious abut health, it really needs to crack down on lard. Tubbies must be punished financially, in the same way that smokers and drinkers are!

  • Why are we so possessed with drug addiction, obesity, alcohol and tobacco when the realproblem lies elsewhere?

Surely the reason for most of mankind's problems lie with their obsession with the motor car?

  • A film about Paris Hilton? Why?

When I see on Yahoo that somebody is making a film about this woman, I wonder who she is. A reasonably good looking woman with a penchant for drunk driving. Can't sing, can't dance, can't play the ukelele - so surely the only reason anyone can have any interest in her whatsoever is because of her massive wealth.
