What gave you an edge to stand out among all the other entries?

If so, how did you go about it? Was it a success? What were some of the effects, whether it worked or not?

Someone I'm close to is an alcoholic, and is killing himself. We are all very worried, but unsure of what we can do.

Just wondering, because their prices are so low to begin with. But sometimes they have name brand items for which coupons are available.

My mother suffers from some kind of delusional/disordered thinking. I'm not sure what to call it because she refuses to seek professional treatment. She believes that she is being persecuted by a complex, worldwide conspiracy and refuses to seek help because she is convinced that "they" will lock her up. This has been going on for several years and has gotten progressively worse. She has outbursts at home and at work, is extremely paranoid and believes that people are trying to plant thoughts in her head, and that people she knows (including my son) are continually replaced by impostors. She wants to come visit me for two weeks (I live in another state) to "help out" when my second child is born in the spring. I really don't want to deal with her episodes and take care of a newborn and my seven year old at the same time. I am also concerned that if she could harm my children if she has one of her episodes. I told her not to come unless she gets some help, but she became enraged and later behaved as though it hadn't happened. If she is confronted about any of this she becomes very combative and refuses to speak to me for several days.

I'm sick of paying the price for a bunch of greedy, materialistic idiots who chose to live beyond their means and finance their lives with credit cards. Now the Fed cut the interest rate to almost zero, which means savings and CD rates will plummet. Thanks a lot. Someday I hope to repay the favor.

We have 1 vehicle paid off, owe $4000 on the other.

I work for someone who has caused 5 other people to quit. My company begged me to stay on and I agreed to help them out. Now my boss has set an arbitrary promotion standard so that I am eligible by regulation, but not according to his guidelines. Out of sheer laziness he has refused to review packets on an individual basis. I am exceedingly irritated, as one might imagine. In all likelihood, I will not actually take any revenge, but this is my only outlet to vent.
