Can magnetism help the human race achieve a greater understanding of science/physics of the known universe?
If so, how and why?
the best answer gets the points.
4 AnswersAstronomy & Space8 years agoAfter watching the new "Clash of the Titans", I have surmised that the Olympians were and still are at large?
That would mean it is 'possible' that the universe has these peoples out there in it, and away from earth and they are truly beyond us.
This would mean, that we are not the most advanced society, as these "Gods" are clearly above and beyond and quite old.
Would this surprise anyone or frighten anyone to know that we are not the 'top dogs' of the universe and someone else has all the cards in the deck?
I would like to know what people think and feel.
2 AnswersMythology & Folklore1 decade agoMagnetic field collapsing by coil inductance and frequency?
If I were to place a rare earth magnet inside a fine copper wound coil and then pass a certain amount of AC at 15khz through the coil, thus cancelling out the magnetic field on the rare earth magnet at very small intervals...what would happen?
Curious to what people wold think would happen...
2 AnswersPhysics1 decade agoWhy does visible light (color) only seem to reveal matter?
...or why does atoms of matter make color apparent en masse...why isn't everything translucent?
Okay, I know that things absorb and reflect in order to reveal colour, but what is happening atomically, at the wavelength which decides what color is being absorbed and what is being reflected?
Something in the atomic structure? The size of the atom? resonant frequencies?
thanks
2 AnswersPhysics1 decade agoWhy is a vacuum, a vacuum?
For instance, if I remove air from a canister and any matter, why does the canister create a void within it, so that when I open a valve on it, air will suddenly rush in to fill the void?
I know people will mention about atmospheric pressure being involved, to balance the forces between positive and negative pressure. Equalization and such.
How about outer space......then, why is that this negative pressure seem to be everywhere, and what creates it?
thanks very much.

What is the ratios of combinations and procedure to make, about 1 litre of this stuff?

...breach...as in let loose a Black hole upon the earth very soon? Or something else? Wonder what?!?!

1 AnswerPhysics1 decade agoHow a rainbow is formed?
Does it always have the same size for every person who views it (various POVs), such as radius being the same. Does this apply to the secondary harmonic rainbow as well?
Why does the secondary reverse colors or mirror the primary rainbow?
Does the primary and secondary rainbow follow a fixed ratio of radii for any and every rainbow created?
Could there be a sacred law here? such as sacred geometry, being involved with the creation of a rainbow?
2 AnswersEarth Sciences & Geology1 decade agoShould the David Dunlap Observatory be closed permanently?
Should the chair of the Astrophysics Dept, Peter Martin, be given his pink slip? (He is behind it's closure). He seems to care little about the achievements of Canadians and more about the dollar value of the sale of the property.
Although the Observatory is old and goes back to it's opening in 1933, it is still a contributor to science in the study of Binary Star systems.
It is stilla workable facility. Many have come and gone who work there, and yet it is a place where much can still be done.....
Some major discoveries were made at the DDO:
1987A Supernova by Dr. Ian Shelton
1971 Cygnus X-1 Black Hole discovered by Dr. Tom Bolton
What do any of you think?
6 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoFolk lore or actual scientific data through experience?
A meteorite can contain the power or energy to cause mutations in DNA to those who in the presence of a meteorite which has fallen recently?
Meteorites can contain phosphorus which can glow underwater?
Phosphorus is usually inside the bones of animals...limestone, therefore if a meteorite has phosphorous, then it came from a life bearing world that is long gone....? (Phosphorus is the 5th element in all DNA).
3 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoWhat is happening on Saturn? Is this supposed to happen?
November 12, 2008 - Saturn's Mysterious Northern Aurora.
“We've never seen an aurora like this elsewhere.
This one covers an enormous area across the pole. Our current ideas
on what forms Saturn's aurorae predict that this region should be empty,
so finding such a bright one here is a fantastic surprise.”
- Tom Stallard, U. K. University of Leicester
This new infrared image by the Cassini spacecraft will be reported in the Nov. 13 issue of the journal Nature. One of the contributors is Nick Achilleos, Ph.D., on the Cassini magnetometer team at the University College London. He says, “Saturn's unique auroral features are telling us there is something special and unforeseen about this planet's magnetosphere and the way it interacts with the solar wind and the planet's atmosphere. Trying to explain its origin will no doubt lead us to physics which uniquely operates in the environment of Saturn.”

8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDo people want to evolve out this world?
Just a general question.
Not so general additions:
Are people open to higher knowings of the universe?
Are people going to be upset if they realize they are not alone in the universe, and that higher evolved persons exist?
Will humankind relax in knowing they are not the most advanced lifeforms?
Will mankind, as in the military rest their weapons of destruction or will they unknowingly take arms up against our space brothers out of pure fear?
2 AnswersOther - Social Science1 decade agoIf exotic matter can open up a wormhole........then?
If negative energy or mass or exotic matter can open up a wormhole, how can we generate the neg energy/mass/exotic energy. What would it be? Would it be some form of plasma?
4 AnswersPhysics1 decade agoWhat is exotic matter/energy?
And how can it be used to create a blackhole and also a wormhole.
What methods could we use to keep the wormhole active?
Just to get some idears. Any thoughts?
Thanks everyone.

I know about chlorophyll. But why the colour green? Why not blue or red and any other colour? Is this about the Sun's wavelengths and the atmosphere?
Grass is green, all vegetable plants are green and yet the fruit is sometimes not green.

3 stars in motion in each other's gravity well/potentials...create a chaotic system which would eventually throw the odd 3rd star out of the system. What if all 3 stars were forced to be in the system, like having a gigantic toroidal magnet or sphere surrounding them...which keeps all them in place. What would happen? Would the stars increase in orbital velocity? Let's presume they don't smack into each other and maintain safe distances, as they move about.
Sort of like a complex pendulum question.
