Hello I am trying to find out the proper way to petition a court for a chang of venue in family law. My brother has been served with papers to appear in court in a county that is 600 miles away on a family matter. The matter concerns his son who has never resided in the county where they have been summoned to court. Do we simply write a letter to the court asking for a change or is there a legal form that must be submitted?

My new neighbor has bought the property next to us to improve and sell. The "improvements" include, digging out the creek damming the creek and clearing a great deal of under brush. During these improvements he set fire to a brush pile while our county was under a burn ban and left it unattended (he left the property) as an end result the fire burned 6 acres of our land and the forestry service had to come in and dig trenches so the fire wouldn't jump around. Now our county has had some flash flooding over the last few days and his dammed up creek has caused a great deal of errosion, it even eroaded his own new asphalted roadway to the back of his property. We are planning to sue for property damages for the fire because he hasn't offered an apology or attempted to pay for any damages and tried to blame our daughter for the fire. What I am wondering is can we also sue him for the proerty damages that was caused by his creek being dammed and suddenly overflowing.

I have some questions I have to answer for my homework and the text only explains a portion of the answers. In the assignment we are to review 5 cases then determine if each of the cases is a function of a federal or state court if the case falls under federal or state jurisdiction. My question is what elements of the case determine the function and the jurisdiction as they are not explained in the text. The five cases are a drug case The SUpreme court of the State v. a private citizen, a domestic violence case also the Supreme court of the state V. a private citizen, A sexual Battery appellant case United States V. Private citizen, a dispute over double jeopardy where it was citizen v. state. I am having difficulty getting the last one to open so i dont know what it is about. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I have a friend who has feeds through the bbc daily news which is updatesd daily and sometimes 3 and 4 times a day. I notice that sometimes it goes awhile with out updating. This person is rarely here so im wondering if you have to be logged in to have them updated.
