I'm Ashlie! I'm 23, been married a little over a year to the wonderful Derrick. (WoW that first year really is hard!) I'm going back to school in August to do cosmotology and I'm SOO excited about finally following my heart on it! I'm a really big girly girl and I like to think of myself as a southern bell. I'm pretty OCD, but I'm learning to manage it! See below! I love (in very little particular order!) God, Derrick, my family, my doggies (weezie kate and roadie) MSU baseball, cheese, pretty much anything fried, flip-flops, purses, Red Bull and vodka, Chuck Norris jokes, Wednesdays (cuz its payday), Bob Barker and the Price is Right, Family Guy and other bad cartoons, my job, myspace, cotton blossom, etc... I hate, (or extremely dislike at least), double denim, ketchup, my foods touching on my plate, 6:30 A.M., the color orange (I don't look good in it!) assymetry, cat hair, cockyness, my butt, unibrows, dusting, skinny jeans, etc..

  • what are some funny items I can get for a guy friend who is turning 30?

the ruder and cruder the better! No limits....maybe some funny sayings to go along with them? thanks!

  • Graduate Cosmo school in 3 days, got my job, need a color line...Pravana or Matrix? can anyone recommend one?

So at school we use redken color gels and shades EQ, I'm VERY familiar with those lines, but the salon that hired me would prefer that I use one of their lines, they have 4, but pravana and matrix were the only 2 I had heard of. What line do you like? I have heard Matrix is more drying, and that the colors can vary from the swatch...I also am liking how you switch the developer and can get a demi color with pravana....what do you think!

    Thanks!

  • what kind of bat should I get? (23 year old petite and severly non-atheletic girl for church league softball)?

Yea, so I have never played any "ball sports" before...I like watching baseball but never played it, I was always in dance or gymnastics or something like that. Now I am on a church league softball team and we started playing monday night. All the bats everyone else brought were to heavy or long or something (one was 36" I think) They started teaching me how to hit, and I did ok....but everyone agreed that I needed a smaller bat...the league only lasts through about mid-august, so I don't really want to invest a lot of money in it either (plus I am going back to college next month and money is TIGHT!) ....but I also would like to not strike out everytime! What would you suggest?

  • Did anyone use orchids in their wedding bouquets? How did they hold up?

I recently started a side floral business on my own after working for another for a shop for several years. I get the same old rose, gerbera daisy, lilly type stuff all the time, but never got much opportunity to work with orchids until now....(noone ever wanted to spend the money on them until this bride!) I know how to wire them and that type of thing, but I can't think of a single wedding we ever did that had orchids in them, just made a few corsages for mothers day, so I'm not sure how well they hold up...do they spot or wilt easily? thanks!

  • got bitten by a tick about 2 weeks ago, now have knot near where it bit me, but not at the actual site...help!

so it bit me on the side of my neck, I found it in the shower when I was washing my face, I though it was a zit and I scratched over it and it came off....now about 3-4 inches away from where it bit me, on the back center of my neck this knot came up yesterday all of a sudden, and today it is red with swelling all around it. it doesnt really itch but its kind of sensitive. Does the rash thing have to be at the site of the tick bite for it to be lyme disease or can it manifest other places? My neck is also kind of stiff, but I spent yesterday at a waterpark with my little cousins so I could just be sore from playing with them all day and the slides and all, I'm planning on going to the dr in the morning if its not any better to have it checked out, but am just kind of wondering right now! Thanks!

  • My cousin is going on an Amayas Walk (sp?) and I was asked to write an encouraging letter, any suggestions?

this is what I have so far-my aunt said it doesn't have to be very long, but I want to say good things that aren't totally cliche. If you don't know, an Amayas Walk (not sure at all if thats how its spelled) is soemthing like a christian camp, and its supposed to be super powerful, but Im not sure on a lot of it. He's 17 and he is a really great kid, so this isn't really a case of intervention or anything. I have a deep faith in God, but I'm not exactly the best at putting it into words...would you add anything?

    Dear Matt-

I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you during this walk. I'm not sure what all you are going through right now, but one thing is for sure- I think its so admirable for you to take time out of your life to grow closer to God. It's something we could all learn a lesson from! I know you will walk away from this experience with an understanding that even though life is not always easy, He'll take care of it for us if we will just let Him!

  • What are some other things I can bring to a lingerie shower besides straight up lingerie?

Because I have to go to one this weekend for my good friend. Problem is, they have been living together for like 3 years now and she's said herself she never wears the stuff anymore....I suppose they are throwing it for her more as a right of passage, but she's picky and I don't want to waste money on something she'll never use. Any other suggestions? Maybe one of those towel cover up things? She also teaches swim lessons, so I think that could be useful, but is it appropriate? HELP!

  • have to write a letter of intent for a scholarship I'm applying for. Been out of school a while, what to say?

I remember doing these in school, but I can't remember what all went into them, and I'm not having much luck finding samples online to model it after. The scholarship is for women going back to school, what things should I include? thanks!

  • Quickbooks: If I delete an item on the items list, will it affect invoices that used it before?

Or will it leave those alone and simply not use it in the future? I ask because I use a 3rd party software to create invoices in (to keep some people out of the books!) and then it sends it to quickbooks. I just upgraded to QB pro, 2008, and they changed the way sales tax is figured in it to where it defaults to the state tax item rather than just have the ability to use the precalc option like my old version had. because of this, its not letting my 3rd party software send the invoices to quickbooks anymore. When I called the 3rd party software people, he said that some other people had that problem after the upgrade and the way they were told to solve it was delete the state tax item and then it would default to precalc. My question is will that effect invoices that used that state tax item in the past? I tried to just make it inactive but that didnt work. Please help!

  • If I update quickbooks, (from pro '05 to pro '08) will I lose my memorized reports?

I came to work here with most everything set up, (I've only added a couple things here and there) including a lot of memorized reports that I use daily. I am wondering if they will be safe or if I will need to re-create all those when I do the update (sure hope not!) Thanks!

  • Are you attached to your engagement stone or would you upgrade in a heartbeat?

I have been thinking about this, I have a 1/2 carat stone, at the time he was buying a house and couldnt have anything else he owed on, so it was what he could afford up front. I know its not huge, and in all honesty, its not the BEST diamond in the world either, but I am SOOO attached to it. I would never replace it completely. I hear about people upgrading, but to me that stone would never have the value this one does! I might consider getting it reset into a fancier band (mines a solitare) but I would never trade it in or anything, I mean its the stone he put on my finger and asked me to be his wife with....what are your feelings? Would you trade yours in for a bigger one later on or do you share my feelings?

  • Through up about 2 hours after taking ortho tri cyclen, week 3, what to do?

Ok, vomiting not caused by the birth control, i was drinkng some apple juice and it "went down the wrong pipe" and I got really choked up an ended up throwing up. I had taken my ortho tri cyclen pill about 2 hours before, and I am about halfway through week 3 of the pack. This is my first month on this kinda pill, I switched to it immediately from YAZ (which I had been on for about a year and a half) for insurance purposes this month, so keep in mind I did switch. I was on a Z-Pac for a sinus infection during week 4 of the last YAZ pack. Would you just take the next pill in the pack or do you think I'm ok? I would call a pharmacist, but its about 1:30 AM as I am typing this....so not exactly an option! I plan to 1st thing in the morning anyway, but I would like a heads up!

  • How many bridesmaids did you have? How many do you think is TOO many?

I had 4 bridesmaids and 3 jr bridesmaids, and I thought that having 7 people on my side was a lot! I did the flowers for my 2nd cousins wedding this weekend, (I used to work as a florist but have gotten out of it) and she had 14. I thought that was just crazy! Not to mention it was a huge pain making that many bouquets. Her photographer said he was doing a wedding in late June where they had 32 bridesmaids and 32 groomsmen. I thought bridemaids were supposed to be your closest family and friends?! I just don't see being that close to 32 girls, lol! To each his own I suppose, what do you think?

  • made green tea last night, added sugar (im southern and used to sweet tea!) did I undo all the benefits?

I had never tried green tea before but keep hearing it soooo good for you so I got some of the lipton tea bags and made some last night, I tried it and it tasted like normal tea, but I don't like unsweet tea very much so I decided I would just make it be sweet so I added about 2/3 cups of sugar to whats probably about a gallon of tea. I think it made it better but then I wondered if the sugar would undo all the benefits? and is it really a good appetite supressant? (i'm sure the sugar is helpful there, lol!) Thanks!

  • Are chihuahuas difficult dogs to own?

I have been offered a purebred puppy one for free. He's really cute and I would name him Spanky...haha! I have had dogs before, but they've always been muts....just good ole low maintenance muts. We have a beagle mix right now, but she stays outside and I know thats not gonna work for the little guy. We also have an indoor/outdoor cat. Are chihuahuas really high maintenance? I've heard they can be. Do they require just tons of attention? What about on the medical side of things, do the require lots of upkeep? I would really like to have him, but I'm worried I wouldn't have time to really devote to him like he needs. Also, my hubby is NOT wild about the idea at all. Any advice?

  • What can I do to a chicken noodle soup recepie to make it be creamy?

I want to make creamy chicken noodle soup, I keep finding really good recepies for just chicken noodle soup, but I want that thicker consistency. Can I substitute cream of chicken soup or something along those lines for some of the chicken broth? will that thicken it up or should I take another approach? Thanks so much!
