I'm getting so tired of this slow motion walking in TV shows, commercials, movies, etc!!!!

Every single TV show has to have an advertising commercial with the main cast members walking in slow motion towards the camera, like in a back alley setting. They all walk in an aligned fashion, such as a V or something.

I am getting so tired of this!! I just seen an E-Harmony commercial with some lady walking in slow motion. Then earlier i seen the cast of Desperate Housewives walking in slow motion towards the camera with the extreme wind effect (also an annoying cliche!!!).

How often do employers do post offer background checks?

I interviewed for a job on october 8th. They called to offer me the job on oct. 24th, but i asked to have the weekend to decide. Eventually accepted the job over the phone on the 27th of october. The HR was very happy that i accepted the offer and congratulated me on the job. She was very excited for me.

The letter she sent me has something of the sort "this offer is contingent on receiving satisfactory information from any background check we may conduct, and our ability to verify your legal right to work in the US".

The HR lady said over the phone it just needed my signature to accept the terms of the offer (the pay). My start date that I MADE is on jan 5th 2009.

Now im wondering, would they have conducted these background check (s) already? Or would they wait till i get closer to my start date? Does anyone know or has anyone been in similar situations?

I cannot afford to pay 1000 bucks for just one ticket on ticketmaster's ticket exchange, nor stub hub or anything of that matter. My friend and i want to get tickets up there. Anyone know how likely that could happen. Would be willing to pay 600 a ticket, but no more.

Also, what do those ticket vendors do when they dont sell all the tickets? do they sell them back to the box office??

I know that over 40 hours a week at some jobs gets you time and a half, but is there a certain point of overtime that you get double time?

I was with my girlfiend, actually fiance, for almost 3.5 years. We talked alot about marriage, and actually lived together for about a year.

We kind of took a break about 2.5-3 months ago. Her and I agreed we needed time to get our lives together.

I just found out that she was having an affair on me during the time we dated. Started about 10 months ago, and lasted up until around christmas time. After she was done with him, she started seeing someone else behind my back, all during the time we were together. We took several one or two week breaks during our relationship.

So for the last 2.5-3 months, she has a new bf and supposeably slept with him while i was dating with her.

I found all this out this past week. I confronted her at her job and embarrased the crap out of her for it. I have all the proof i need that this was going on.

3.5 years was a long time to be with someone. I still love her, even though all this happened. But should i just ditch her and forget?

Does anyone else find it very annoying how Gary Bettman presents the stanley cup to the captain of the team who won?

For example, he usually says something like this, "Joe Sakic, come get your cup"

Not only does it sound condescending, but it sounds disrespectful to the Stanley Cup itself. Just my opinion. Ive just always hated when that short piece of crap comes out the present the cup.

Any ideas? dont they usually start about a week after the last games?

He's on their farm team. I hope they do, he was awesome back in the day and it sounds like a cinderella story in the making with his comeback.

I have been hearing alot about this Six Sigma stuff from some emails from my college and from a few people in my classes. I am in the mechanical and manufacturing engineering field of study and Im curious to what this is all about.

I would like to know if any of you have experience with Six Sigma, or have known anybody with experience. Is it something I should look into or is it just hyped up? I read a few six sigma questions from the past on here and alot of people say it is more of a religion for a few companies.

I am only interested into getting into things that will make me look more attractive to companies.

I cant decide if I want an xbox360 or a PS3. I have done alot of research on the systems, so before you tell me to go do my own research, please read. Also, I already own a Wii and i love it, but i am a hardcore gamer and i need something other than what the Wii offers.

here is my opinions on PS3:

I love the exclusives on Playstation - God of war, Metal Gear Solid, Ratchet and Clank.

I have 20 ps2 games, and 8 ps1 games that I will want to play in the future. Its either get PS3, or get a new PS2 along with xbox 360.

I really dont know if I want to pay for xbox live gold membership. Its only 50/year though. PS3 has free online play.

They say that the blu ray disk offers so much more room to make games and xbox 360 will have to put games on 2 or 3 disks soon.

I hear grand theft auto IV will be alot bigger on xbox360? Anyone heard this.

I was a big zelda fan back in the day. I didnt like Wind Waker but Twilight Princess looked cool. After a few days of playing it, it was wayyyyyyyyyyy too easy! Not only that, but it didnt bring anythign new to the table besides being that stupid wolf. Just my opinion though, i know that it still was a very good game, just not for me. Just bought a brand new TV and the sticker they put on the front of it wont come off. I grabbed the little tab and it just took the front of the sticker off. How can i get it off without scratching my tv?

I was thinking about getting a redwings logo tattooed somewhere.
