How much weight does the average person gain...?

3 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoChristians: Serious question forthcoming...?
In reference to the phrase "give Glory to God", could someone please explain what you mean by "glory"? Is it just respect?
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat if there were no hypothetical questions?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf murder was not a sin or a crime...?
would people be nicer? Would they be more polite? Is there any religion that does not see murder as a "sin" in certain cases (such as killing someone who molested your child)?

18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoA question about Westboro Baptist Church?
For those of you who don't know, these are the idiots who protest soldiers funerals and claim sept. 11th happened because "god" was angry over America's tolerance of homosexuals. Now these people are planning on picketing the funerals of students killed at Virginia Tech this past week. My question: These people are currently protected by free speech, but is it possible that they have taken it just a bit too far? At what point do their protests cross the line into treason and violating other's rights? Can't the state of Kansas get some kind of action on the ballots to get these people shut down? And they take their small children to these events and subject them to their hatred and the responses they get from the public - Why isn't children's services investigating them for mistreating their children? This is like a bad cult that refuses to drink the kool-aid...
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWould a pacemaker work for irregular (fast) heartbeat?
Just got back from the ER for the second time in 3 weeks with my mother having very fast. very irregular heart rhythm - ranging from 55 to 175 bpm and extremely erratic. I know they use pacers for slow irregular heart rate, but do they work for fast as well? Or is this something that can be controlled with medication? They gave her 2 syringes of Cardizem to finally restore normal rhythm - Is this drug the typical one to be prescribed for this condition?
4 AnswersHeart Diseases1 decade agoWhy is there so much HATE on this board?
Damn - I thought the Religion & Spirituality forum was bad. Reading through some of the garbage a few of you idiots are posting almost makes me ashamed to be white. Where's this hatred and cruelty coming from? Do you really think it makes you look cool to bash other people for something as uncontrollable as the color of their skin?
10 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoA very serious question for Christians (give me some honest insight here)?
(I will grant you, I tend to ask some very sarcastic questions from time to time, but take this one to heart cause I've gotta settle my curiosity on this one...)
I know that a lot of Christian sects place a high level of importance on spreading the "gospel" and winning souls to Christ, but have you ever met someone who, even after being saved, just never seemed to really flourish spiritually in the church no matter how hard they tried? Someone who read the bible, tried like hell to be a good Christian and still just didn't seem to benefit from it in any way? Someone who simply wasn't cut out to be a Christian and in fact seemed to fair worse after their conversion (as in becoming depressed or suicidal)?
36 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs the Church a pyramid scheme a la Amway?
Have you ever noticed how eerily similar the Church and Amway are? If you've ever been to a big Amway meeting, you'll know what I mean - the inspirational music, the urges to get your friends involved, the constant pressure for commitment and money...Makes me think maybe the Church was the first successful Multi-Level Marketing scheme.

17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy did people used to say "the rabbit died" when someone was pregnant?
I asked this in this section because I thought it might be connected to an "old wives tale".
2 AnswersMythology & Folklore1 decade agoIs there anything that can be done about this?
One of the groups I belong to has a list owner who's email address is bouncing and there are no moderators and the list is slowly being taken over by spammers...Is there any way that I can take ownership of this list and clean it up? I don't know how to contact the original owner because they only list the bouncing addy with no other way to reach them. Can Yahoo override the system and transfer ownership?
4 AnswersYahoo Groups1 decade agoWhy is ANYBODY in this section?
Yes, I'm joking as half the questions like this have been in the past 30 minutes....
But honestly, even among Xtians, you'll never find 2 who agree about every single fine point of their religion. I wish more people would see this forum as a chance to foster understanding and tolerance...
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do Christians see the story of Job as such a positive thing?
Why would your god want to put one of his truest believers through so much torment and pain? Why is that seen in such a positive light? I know you all think its great that he remained faithful to god, but man, how could love a deity that would do that?
