I've had my period for a while, I've just always used pads, but I tried tampons for the first time yesterday. I actually succeeded on only my second tampon, but, it was quite uncomfortable, so I knew I had to put it up farther next time. But, that's not the issue. I wore it to bed, and knowing you're not supposed to have a tampon in for more than eight hours, I woke up after about seven hours. However, it was extremely hard and painful to pull out. I thought removing it would be the easy part, I mean, everybody makes it seem like it just easily slips out. So I was kind of alarmed. When I pulled it out, only the tip was covered in blood, even though my period's pretty heavy right now. Is the problem that I didn't put it up far enough, I need a lower absorbency, I should've left it in longer (but that would've been too long), or all of the above? I'd really appreciate any input because with summer coming up, I want to try to start using tampons. Thanks everyone! Blessings! :) <3

So I missed school Friday, yesterday, and today due to a stomach bug (I even had to visit the hospital). I've of course missed schoolwork. Although the fact that I will have to make most of it up stresses me out, I'm not too worried because my teachers are understanding. Except for my math teacher. She can get quite rude, and I'm afraid that she'll scold me for missing so much. According to one of my friends, we've had two pretests in math, gotten a new homework packet, and probably some other stuff. However I haven't felt well enough to do it (due to the stomach bug) and even if I did, I don't have it. My math teacher has yelled at someone before saying "What were you doing in those (insert amount of time he was absent) you were gone? It certainly wasn't schoolwork!!" and although I haven't missed as much school as that student did, and my math teacher likes me more than that student (I behave well in class. She usually never gets mad at me but that doesn't mean she's never rude to me), I'm still worried that she’ll be angry w/ me and make me feel guilty for not picking up my schoolwork. Maybe I should have, but it's too late to worry about that now. Do you all think my math teacher will get upset? If so, what should I say/do? I'll probably be able to pick up what I missed out on quickly but still. Thanks everyone for any input! Blessings!

Hi, so just yesterday, my social studies teacher informed us that she's expecting. We were all extremely happy for her! But, even though I'm very happy for my teacher, I feel kind of weird about the whole thing, almost...jealous. My teacher already has two kids, one in fifth grade and one in third grade. Plus, I've known this teacher for a year and a half, and she seemed like the last person to want to have another child (she has this sarcastic sense of humor, she would often crack jokes about the struggles of being a mother. I didn't explain that well). But now she IS going to have another child. And I feel kinda like how kids feel when their mother is going to have another baby...kind of happy, but also jealous because they're worried their mother won't care about them or pay attention to them as much. I guess that's kind of how I feel right now. Also, another thing is that the people in the grade below us will have this teacher for the rest of this year AND next year, so they'll get to see our teacher's child (she said she'll bring the baby in), but me and the people in my grade won't have my teacher next year, so we won't get to see her child. I don't know, we're all very happy for her, like I said, but I still feel kind of jealous and weird. Is it normal to feel this way? How can I stop feeling this way? Thanks anyone for any input. I bought an I Love Lucy t-shirt online and I love it, but the online stores/websites that sell I Love Lucy merchandise don't have everything I'm looking for. Plus, I really don't want to go through the whole ordering and waiting for your package process again. So I'm looking for the names of or the types of stores in the mall, or anywhere, that sell anything I Love Lucy related. I mean things like I Love Lucy clothes, pins, etc. I DID find I Love Lucy books and posters at Books A Million, my local bookstore. I have developed a crush on this guy that I met this year. I actually didn't have a crush on him until a short while ago this WEEK, but now that I have a crush on him, I can't get him out of my head! But I was thinking about him all day yesterday and I'm really, well, CRUSHED. We don't have any of our classes together. I know most of his schedule but I'm sure he doesn't have a clue as to mine. I doubt he even remembers my name, since we only talked once in the beginning of the school year! I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't know I existed. We used to have one class together, a class that happened every other week (the class was kind of a 'talk about your emotions' class that everyone had to attend). But we've never had a real, long conversation. Like I said, I talked to him in the beginning of the year, but not recently. We have lunch together but he sits with his guy friends and I sit at the peanut allergy table because my friends have peanut allergies. I'm not about to sit at his table, and I also don't want to request to switch classes, especially since it's so late in the school year! Maybe next year I'll have some classes with him, but the problem is, I'll just be thinking about him all summer. What can I do to have the slightest communication with this guy?

The Poison Apple book series has to be my favorite or one of my favorite book series. Last year, I got the Poison Apple books "The Green Eyed Monster" and "The Ghoul Next Door" from my school's book fair. But, I can't find those books in my local bookstore (called Books A Million), which is odd. Why can't I? Also, there are two new Poison Apple books. One is called "The Ghost of Christmas Past" (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-i9S6tfveFfM/UHbg3nQ-sUI/... and the other I just found out about-"Dead in the Water" (https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8261/8677780761_8d78... I can't find either in the local bookstore, and no employee can find the book, and none have heard of it. Some employees and I are guessing the books haven't been published/come out yet. is this the case?

So, why can't I find these books( do you think they haven't been published), where could I find them, or when will they come out? This includes the two I got from school last year. Oh yeah, why could I get the first two books at my school book fair but not in the bookstore? Is my bookstore just not up to date on these new books?

I am trying to learn as much about Chihuahuas as I can, because I really wish to adopt a Chihuahua. And, I really want to adopt a Labrador. But, I have a four year old female English Springer Spaniel named Lilly that weighs about 60 pounds, give or take some pounds. She is extremely friendly around people, and she used to start problems with dogs larger than her, until a Lab put her in her place and she got scared. Now, Lilly never starts problems with larger dogs. So, would a Labrador and an English Springer Spaniel like Lilly do well living together? And, now about the Chihuahua. The thing that concerns me is that I don't think Lilly really likes small dogs. She barks whenever she sees one, and has gone over to one before and started barking in their face. She's never attacked one though, or vice versa. I have a feeling a feisty Chihuahua would put Lilly in her place, just like the Lab put Lilly in her place and scared her off, teaching her to behave around bigger dogs. So, would a Spaniel like Lilly do well with a Chihuahua? And, would the Labrador do well with the Chihuahua? I do not own a Lab but I know most are very friendly animals. Would these three dogs do well together? I have a feeling most people will call me crazy for even considering owning a Chihuahua AND two other larger dogs, and maybe I am, but I just want to be sure. I guess I will never know until the three dogs actually meet though.

I have eyeglasses and my friend (who has had eyeglasses for a year or more) seems very irritated when I'm not wearing my eyeglasses. Plus, when I first found out I needed glasses, I expressed my worries to her and she was like "Stop worrying, geez, nobody's gonna make fun of you" in a kind of irritated tone. When I got eyeglasses she said I looked good in them and stuff. But you see, I don't wear my eyeglasses ALL the time. I don't wear them to school, I put them in my backpack and put them on the minute I get in my homeroom. My friend walked with me into school the other day and started criticizing me for not wearing my glasses into school. I felt bad that she was almost MAD at me for not wearing them. I also don't wear my glasses for Physical Education class in school. I don't see why I should, we don't need to read anything on boards in Phys. Ed (I'm nearsighted), and I don't want to ruin my glasses while doing the stuff we do, even though my friends who wear eyeglasses wear them in Phys Ed and the glasses are never even scratched in class. The friend gets really mad when I don't wear them in Phys Ed. She says I need to get in a habit of wearing them 24/7, and I tell her I already am, I just don't want to make my eyesight even worse by never taking my glasses off. She now brings my glasses to Phys Ed without my permission. I leave them in the classroom and head to Phys Ed, but she takes them and gets angry that I'm not wearing them, she acts like I'm stupid.

I was thinking maybe she doesn't want to be the only one in Phys Ed wearing glasses, but that's not the case, because plenty of others have glasses AND wear them to Phys Ed. There's only two periods of the school day where I don't wear my glasses and I don't get why my friend gets mad at me for that and acts like I'm stupid.

Why is this friend acting like this, and how can I stop her from acting kind of rude towards me without flat out saying "STOP telling me to always wear my glasses!" (although it may come to the point where I HAVE to say that).

I had an eye appointment yesterday and I'm near sighted. I found out I need to get glasses. In about a week, I will be wearing glasses. I'm terrified. I'm scared my classmates will tease me and I won't be able to get used to my glasses. I don't even want to wear them. I really need some advice. Plus, my bestie told me I would look great in wide glasses, but instead I got thin glasses that my parents said fit me great and looked amazing. So, I don't even know if my own best friend will like my glasses or if she'll say I look weird in them. Also, the glasses I'm getting are a dark purple with brown specks, it's hard to explain. My Grandma pointed out that my glasses won't match with every outfit I wear and now I'm really taking that comment to heart, I can't believe I picked out purple glasses when they won't match with every outfit and might look weird with every outfit...I'm really worried. I don't want to wear my glasses and I'm so scared that my school will tease me because they've never even known that I NEEDED glasses...it'll be hard for them to get used to, my wearing glasses all of a sudden. I'm so upset.

I'm writing a report on elementary school versus middle school. I've done a lot of research so far but I can't find anything to answer one of my questions that I would like to present in the report: Basically, I would like to know whether middle school students get higher/better grades in general, or if elementary school students get better/higher grades? Is it a tie? What ARE the general grades that middle school students get, and what ARE the general grades that elementary school students get? By grades, I mean test scores, report card scores, etc. I would appreciate personal experience, but I would mainly like links that provide the information I'm looking far, and your own thoughts on the topic.

This year, I have a math teacher that doesn't seem to enjoy her job-at all. She's also my homeroom teacher which means I, unfortunately, see a lot more of her. Let me explain...She's 56 years old (or so she says) and she's married and has grandchildren. Her home life seems to be perfect. But at school, she's the worst. She picked out 5 kids who are advanced at math, seats them in the back of the room, and gives them separate work than the rest of us. She doesn't give them homework, and she jokes around with them and is nice to them...but to the rest of us? If we do the slightest thing, she tells us to "SIT DOWN, AND SHUT YOUR MOUTHS!". She throws hissy fits. Once, at the beginning of the year, she threw all her papers down on the floor and started screaming at us. Recently, she threw her coffee cup down onto the floor and told us to shut our mouths, saying she had been "nice" to us all along about our "behavior issues" but now we've "crossed the line". She doesn't like to help students when they don't understand the math she's teaching. I have strict teachers that I didn't like before, but after meeting my math teacher, I love the strict teachers. This math teacher's eyes have a cold look that scares anyone who looks into her eyes. The weird thing? This mean math teacher won a state award for her "good work towards education" and won a $1,000 dollar grant to use towards the school or something...and the other weird thing? The kids that she yells at a lot say that she's awesome and she was really mean in the beginning of the year but isn't too mean now. It seems that everybody thinks that about her, except for me. She never yells at me but I think I'm the only one who notices just how much she must hate her job if she yells at us that much and is disrespectful towards students.

Is this teacher mean? If she is, what can we do about it, especially since I might be the only person (in my math class, anyway) who takes her behavior to heart, even though she never yells at me? I'm-WE'RE-not about to have a heart to heart talk with this teacher about her behavior...nuh-uh...I don't even know if we'd have the courage to tell the principal, especially since the principal was happy when this teacher won an award.

I am getting into photography and I'm hoping to buy a good camera for my birthday this summer. I'm wondering whether I should get a Canon or a Nikon. This will be the first REAL camera that I buy, and I'm obviously no expert at photography, so I want one that's easy to use, or if it's hard to use, I can learn how to use it quickly. I originally had my heart set on a Nikon D3200 but my friend recently got a Canon Powershot, and since then I've been researching Canons as well. I either want a Canon Rebel T3i, or a Nikon D3200.

Which one do you think is better, based on personal experience or based on what you've heard? Which one would you choose?

Which one is easier to use?

Which one will take better quality pictures (easily)?

I'm not looking to record videos with either of these cameras, but I might record plenty of videos just for fun or for experimental purposes. But my main purpose for buying one of these cameras is to get some good quality pictures. So, which camera do you think I should get-Canon Rebel T3i or the Nikon D3200? Or, can you recommend a model that's better than the cameras I mentioned?

Over the summer of 2013 and even before that, Yahoo Answers had a nice layout. Then, this fall of 2013 or maybe a little earlier/later, Yahoo Answers changed the layout again to a sort of purple looking one, where you had to go to a separate page to ask a question. Also, at that same time, Yahoo was changing the logo like what, everyday? And eventually changed it to an entirely new logo that is still the logo. I hated that layout but I eventually got...KIND OF used to it. Now, today, I am on my Dell laptop with Windows 7 and I noticed that the old, green looking layout from the summer of 2013 was back. DON'T GET ME WRONG: I love that they changed it back and I couldn't be happier, but I'm just wondering as to WHY they changed it back? Was it popular demand? Because I remember quite a few people saying they hated the purple layout that began being used in fall of 2013. OR, could it be that it's just different on my Dell? I haven't had access to my Mac lately (see last question if you need to know why) but the last time I used Yahoo Answers on my Mac, it was the purple layout from fall 2013...could it be that my Dell just didn't update to the new Yahoo layout? I find that hard to believe, and I THINK I remember using the purple like layout from fall 2013 on my Dell, too...

I got the latest MacBook Pro with Retina Display, which has osx I believe, for Christmas of 2013. I've had very few problems with it, and the problems I did have were caused by my confusion, and they were very little problems that could be fixed in a simple press of a button. So, out of curiosity, I opened my laptop and decided to, instead of just entering my password and using the laptop, press the "Guest User" option down on the bottom that appears when you open/turn on the laptop. I had never pressed that before and I didn't know what to expect. So, I pressed it, and it started loading...but the problem is, I tried that TWO DAYS AGO, and it's still not done loading! I tried pressing "Cancel" but it doesn't do anything. I tried pressing the Power Off button which turned the laptop off instantly, then I turned it back on, but it didn't do anything! Today I pressed literally ALL the keys on the keyboard, but no key helped. It didn't freeze or anything, but it's still loading! Because of this, I can't even use the laptop. I need help, fast, because I need to do important things on there. If the problem isn't solved, I might have to bring it to Best Buy (where I got the laptop), but for now, I need help.

I got an iPhone 5 the July of 2013, and ever since then I've been addicted to it! I know it's normal and I shouldn't be freaking out. The technology nowadays is obviously going to addict people. But my phone is interfering with my life. I don't work hard on homework, and I never get out anymore. I find myself wanting to stay home, in bed, playing with my iPhone over the weekend, rather than getting outdoors or just going shopping. I don't watch my favorite television shows anymore. I turn the shows on and try to watch them, but I end up grabbing my phone and using my phone instead of watching T.V. When I'm using my phone, I'm easily annoyed. When family members try to chat with me while I'm on my phone, I either ignore them or get annoyed because I want to stay on my phone. The phone really ruined my life. I don't want to get rid of it, though. Once I get rid of the addiction, I will still need my iPhone for photography purposes, and so that I can call my family/friends, which could be essential. I'm addicted to my phone not because of any games, but because I have Instagram. It's what I do everyday on my phone. Instagram. Instagram. If I didn't have any social networking, I would NOT have an iPhone addiction. But if I go ONE day without my iPhone, I feel like I betrayed my Instagram followers. Even if they don't mind that I'm not on Instagram, I MYSELF mind. I feel horrible when I'm not on Instagram, I NEED to post on there or else I get stressed out. My friends have iPhones and they're not too addicted. I am only because of social media. I used to be addicted to my Dell laptop because of Twitter, YouTube, and Yahoo Answers! I NEED to shake this addiction, it's interfering with what should be my life. If I could get together with friends more, I wouldn't have the addiction. But because of situations, we almost never get together (you can scour my recent questions to see why, or if you're a contact who answers my questions, you'll probably know).

So, please help me, I know I sound crazy but I need help without giving up the phone OR getting professional help.

I have a LOT of spam emails from petition sites, spammers, business trying to sell, etc. I finally signed up with my Hotmail account on the "Mail" feature on my MacBook Pro with Retina Display. But as soon as I did, hundreds of the spam emails and even old emails from 3 years ago (when I had an iPod and used the same email account) poured in and the notifications were getting really annoying, plus it's hard to handle 1,000 emails on your email account. I tried Shift+Click on the latest email I wanted to delete, then Shift+Click on the earliest email I wanted to delete, and they all disappeared. I relaxed...but then I didn't see them all in my "Trash". So I went back to my Inbox, and the emails I "deleted" were there again! And worst of all, they kept coming! I honestly don't know how many emails I have now and I'm too scared to check. I tried "Quit Mail", I tried "Erase all deleted messages" or something like that, and nothing worked! I tried flagging emails, everything. I just checked and I have 3,000 spam messages! I researched this problem and apparently a few other people have gone through it, but very few people answered them and the ones that did didn't help me or the person who asked the question! I tried unsubscribing from as many petition sites/websites as I could, but there's too many, AND I'm still getting emails from the people I unsubscribed from! I just got this laptop Christmas of 2013, this recent Christmas, and this is already a HUGE problem. I have no idea how to fix it. I need help. Please. PLEASE.

I use Instagram and have a few close friends on Instagram that I don't know in real life. We've talked and they've posted pictures/videos of themselves, so I'm pretty sure they're real people...Anyway, one is sending out postcards with a nice letter written to us personally on the back, and they asked who would like one. I said I would like one, because I thought they meant they would send us the postcards through the direct message feature on Instagram, or an app called Kik which is like text messaging. But they meant actually SEND it to you, to your house. I didn't want to back out, so I told my Instagram friend, the one giving away the postcard, my address through Kik, which is like text messaging (like I previously said) and she assured me only she would know. I'm calmed down but I'm also terrified that something really bad will happen because I gave out my address... Here are my questions:

Should I be scared?

Should I ever give out my address again?

Do you think I will be okay because I gave out my address?

How can I handle all of this, overall?

I had a cavity about four years ago, and had to get my tooth encased with silver due to the cavity. I also had another cavity on the other side of my mouth and had to get a filling. This past Friday (January 24, 2014 here in the U.S) my silver tooth fell out, after being wiggly for quite a while. My dentist said it's not a problem that I lost my tooth at my age. Ever since then, 3 teeth have started hurting. First, the tooth behind the silver one that fell out started extremely hurting. Plus, the tooth has a filling it, but I don't remember having a cavity there. I'm wondering if the silver from the other tooth got to the tooth behind it? Or maybe I just don't remember and I got a filling for that tooth, as well. Then, the tooth with the filling on the other side of my mouth started hurting. It hurt(s) a little less than the other one, but still hurts. And today (January 27th, 2014) the tooth IN FRONT of the silver tooth that I lost (and right next to my front tooth on MY right side of my mouth, to you it would be my left) started extremely hurting, and the pain in the other teeth seem to be fading a little bit, but then coming back for the most part. Due to this pain, I can't chew at all now. I have tried to eat but it hurts too badly, and I'm going to start a diet of only soft foods like soup and pasta. I'm too scared to go to the dentist, I have zero tolerance for pain and I have no idea if this pain is normal or not...if it's not, I will have to get something done about it, and I don't know what that something would be, it might be painful! And with my teeth already hurting, I won't be able to handle it. The anesthesia doesn't help because I have zero tolerance for pain and can feel the slightest jab of pain. I don't know what to do, even just closing my mouth tightly make the 3 teeth hurt, because I'm biting down. So, here are my questions:

Why is this pain occurring?

Is it normal?

What will the dentist do, and should I even go to the dentist?

Should I visit a dentist or an orthodontist, if I decide to see someone?

Any other tips/insight, please?

Also, PLEASE READ: My four front bottom teeth stick out a little further, so I kind of have an underbite, and my two front top teeth are crooked. In case those two things make a difference, I'll list them.

So, I own a Dell laptop. I have used it for the internet and to write stories on there. But, Microsoft Word, or whatever it was called, cost money. My mom and I were new to technology at the time and thought it would be too difficult to purchase it, plus, I think it was fairly expensive...this was about 4 years ago so I don't quite remember all the details. It might have been very cheap for all I know, but I'm just reciting what I vaguely remember. So instead, my mom had someone download Open Office on the Dell laptop for us, since it was a free program I could use to write stories. I've been writing stories on there ever since, one I'm intensely working on. Problem is, I got a new MacBook Pro with Retina Display this Christmas (Christmas of 2013). I want to use it more since it is a lovely computer, but I end up having to use this one for the internet and for iMovie, and the Dell for Open Office. I just want to transport my stories on Open Office to my new laptop, SAFELY. I heard Macs don't get viruses (or if they do, it's a once in a lifetime thing) but I can't be careful enough. I CANNOT risk ruining EITHER laptop, since my mom does important business on the Dell now that I use the Mac.

Now here's the important part: I was thinking of going somewhere and simply asking an experienced person to answer my question and solve this problem, but I'm actually too shy to do that...it may sound stupid but it's true. I'm not terribly shy like I used to be, but I'm not bold enough to clearly explain issues to salesmen in stores...especially the one who sold me the Mac. He's very experienced, but jokes around a lot, and I feel uncomfortable around him. I've realized I would feel too uncomfortable around any salesman to CLEARLY and CORRECTLY explain the issue and I would end up having the wrong thing done to these laptops. So I figured I would go online. But I need to know a SAFE way to transport all my files from Open Office (on my Dell laptop) to my new MacBook Pro (with Retina), and I would like to use Open Office, not Microsoft or anything, on the

Mac as well.

Also, I have a second question...the internet on my Dell laptop is SUPER slow and it often freezes, I can barely use it as an internet source anymore. Why is this and how can we fix it, SAFELY? Maybe it's because I use internet on the Mac AND on my iPhone, which may make the internet slower on the Dell.

I feel very lucky to have this laptop...I honestly thought I would never get it...and I need a safe way to solve this issue.

Also, sorry, one more question: In order to watch most YouTube videos on this Mac, I need to download some Adobe Flash Player or something...is it safe to do that? YouTube gives a link to where I can download the Adobe Flash Player but I need to be promised that it's perfectly safe to download that. Until then, I really can't watch most YouTube videos.

I have four best friends that I love (in a friend way of course) dearly, but the problem is, we never get together. For example, I was about to plan a get together this upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. Day when we don't have classes, but one best friend will be in Boston and another will probably not be able to go, she told me why but it is personal/private and I will not share it. So, realizing it's kind of too much of a surprise (and that two people won't be attending) to schedule the get together, my main best friend and I decided I need to not schedule it. It seems that all of us are busy with our own thing at different times. Because I don't do any after-school activities or anything like that, I'm always available to get together. Also because I rarely get with other friends, and since my family isn't close, family events are rare. But, they aren't always available, which is actually better than always being free, and just being bored. Plus, here is a problem with trying to get together with my main best friend. So yes. It's not TOO much of a problem anymore I don't think, but still. I am so depressed due to the fact I never get together with my best friends and have a severe addiction to my iPhone. :D Trust me, when they're over, I don't even touch my phone unless we all want to do something on it. I just want to be the kind of best friend group where we do everything together, like in my favorite show The Golden Girls (if you want to see what I mean just look up 'The Golden Girls'). But I know it's unfair to wish that, because we are still under our parents' control and as youngsters, they all have things going on, like I mentioned. But I at least want to see them more than I do. We've never gotten together, all four of us. Only individual/separate get togethers have happened.

I just need tips on how to schedule a get together. It's quite hard when there's FOUR people to ask, two pairs of parents are kind of strict, and I need to make sure they can ALL come at the same time and place. Please give me tips on how to SUCCESSFULLY schedule a get together, which means what I just explained in this paragraph. But I also need help on how to convince them to come...most likely, if they're not busy, they'll agree in a heartbeat, but I just need tips on how to make sure they will all come. I sound clingy, but I just need a little time with my best friends, all together...as a depressed only child dealing with severe anxiety issues, I need them in my life somehow, and school isn't cutting it...the only time you can freely chat is lunch, and two friends are in a whole different area of the school.
