I never understood why, if someone is overweight and they hate it, why don t they diet and work out? I see it in people around me. They hate being fat but continue to eat and eat and sit around watching TV and playing stupid games on their cellphone. The whole time, they keep coming up with excuses as to why they can t lose the weight. "I have a thyroid problem", "I retain water", "it s genetics" blah blah blah.. Are you one of those ???

Ever since I adopted my furry baby, I find it difficult to go out to clubs, restaurants, museums etc. I now just stay in and order take out or I ll take him to the park and eat in the car with him. Other times, I look for dog-friendly restaurants and activities. I can t imagine myself having fun at bars and stuff while my doggie is home alone wondering where I am. I ve never had a dog before so I don t know if I m overly caring or attached to him? I have some friends who do the opposite. They don t mind going to restaurants and leaving their little pooch at home by himself. I feel bad doing that What s your take on that ? Thank you for reading

I've seen this time and time again when casually going out with girls and I see it with my guy friends too. The ugly ones are usually then ones who expect guys to buy them drinks and dinner, they expect us to open doors for them, they expect constant texts or calls (lol), and they act like they're hot!! Now, the ones that are actually hot, they're usually so much more reserved. They don't openly ask for stuff and they offer to split the check and they don't think so highly of themselves and they won't even ask you to introduce them to your friends and family like the ugly ones do. What's up with that ? Ugly girls, can you comment on this ? Guys, have you experienced anything like this before?

Asking this question in person would be extremely rude but since this is yahoo answers, can you guys tell me how much you pay for basic (mandatory liability ) insurance ? And I know that companies consider many factors in figuring out your premium. My case is this : 08' mazda 3. Late 30s, live in LA. (SF valley) new in town and new to driving. I commute a lot and listen to news and talk radio. In LA, we have an all-news radio station called KNX1070. Well, I like the station but they play this commercial over and over and to say that it's irritating and annoying would be an understatement... Have you heard it before? It's a kid singing, followed by an older dude singing this jingle "1877 cars for kids, K.A.R.S. cars for kids. (Repeat) then "Donate your car today"!!!! Omg! As soon as I hear the first two seconds of that, I just turn the radio off. The funny thing is that while the radio is off, the dumb commercial is still playing in my brain... Smh.... :/

It's the most disgusting thing I've ever seen ( followed by people picking their teeth also at the table) I mean, am I the only one who feels this way? I see people do this in restaurants, in front of their friends and family. WTF is wrong with these people? And how come no one tells them anything? If it were my dad, or friend doing this, I would totally call them out. Is this a cultural thing or what? I've noticed that older people and Asians tend to do this a lot more, especially the tooth-picking. I've also noticed that at some Asian restaurants they even have the toothpicks at the table. Can someone provide some insight as to why this is? Or, if you're someone who does it, can you tell me why you think this is acceptable behaviour? Thank you very much for reading.

Problem: If I have P number of pennies, 12 more dimes as pennies and twice as many nickels as dimes, FIND: A) the value of the dimes, b) the number of nickels and c) the value of the nickels.

I often hear people say that they're the "proud parents of a three and a 5 year old" "Proud father or mother of a new baby" etc, and I'm thinking: Why is that something to be proud of? I mean it doesn't take more than having sex to become a father or a mother right? Anyone can do that, as soon as puberty kicks in. Heck, even mentally disabled people can procreate!! I do understand when people say, I jut got my Bachelor's, my Masters or even my GED, now, that DOES take money, effort, discipline and intelligence. Am I wrong to think that way?

If hurting my girflriend's feelings and putting her in a position where she had to choose sides and I didn't have to see that lady again (my gf's mom) I would tell her that I hate her guts, that she is an ungrateful, control freak who thinks she knows everything and that the only reason I go to her house and put up with her stupid mood swings is becaue I love my gf and I have no choice. I thought that to get the percentage equivalent all you had to do was move the decimal point two places to the left right? So that would convert 11.40 into 1140%. So why did the instructor have this answer on the board? He did this: 11 divided by 40 gives us 0.275 then he just moved the decimal point two places to the right. Can you explain why he had to divide?

I know, I know, I'm sure most are not but the ones I know, especially at work, they're the cheapest people I've evern known. We'll go out to eat and they never pick up the tab. We organize parties and everyone pitches in but they don't. Then they're the first ones to take the left overs home? WTF? Again, I'm sure most Filipinos are not like that but I'm just wondering why the ones I've met so far ARE?

My 01' Volvo S60 has 203,000 miles! It broke down on me a couple of times already but it runs like strong as a horse and I absolutely love the performance and the looks of this baby. I'm afraid though, that it's going to start breaking down more and more and who needs that drama? not to mention that it's very expensive to fix! On the other hand, I hate having to go into debt, yet again with the purchase of a new or newer vehicle. I know, this may sound dumb, I know the decision is up to me but since I've been agonizing with this decision for a couple of months now, I thought I get your insight, lol. Thanks!

Im using windows XP and MS Word 2007 and a MFC Brother 8860DN. The printer and scanner works fine for everything else but when I try to print labels, the printer gives me a "No Paper" message and it wont print the labels. It does this whether I use label paper or regular paper. If somebody knows the solution please help. Thank you soooo much.
