Is it ok for companies to sponsor Indian workers from India ?
The unemployment rate in US so over 7% and companies like JNJ, Citi Group, Cisco, Amazon & Microsoft are only hiring Indian workers from India. I think US should change its immigration regulations on companies that operate in US. They should only hire Green Card holders or US-Citizens to help this depressed economy.
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics8 years agowhy do people think that the cost of living in New York City is higher than other states?
I am from CA and I spent 6 month on a project in NYC. During my stay in NYC I was able to save more money than when I was in CA. In CA I had to pay $400 for car payment, $170 for car insurance and $200 for gas. total of $770. In NYC people only pay $114 per month for the unlimited train rides. in NYC a studio in a OK neighborhood is around $1500 in CA that studio is around $1300
for me living in NYC was $456 cheaper than CA. PLUS in NYC salaries are higher .. for example my friend got a job with the Citi Group bank for $115,000 base and 10% bonus. This same friend if he wanted to get a job california he would be making between $60,000-$70,000 base and 5% bonus
5 AnswersNew York City9 years agoWhy people in the financial industries get VP, AVP and Director title so quick?
I am an Engineer and I was in New York City on a project for 6 month. What I noticed in the banking industries people get promotions so fast.
In Engineering industries Vice Presidents and Directors usually have over 15 years of industry experience. In financial industries seems like everyone get the Director and Vice President title after 3 years of experience.
In NYC I met people that had only 3 years of experience and had those titles with salaries over $120,000. It made me think that I made the wrong choice by being an Engineer... Engineers dont make any money :-(

In my current company we have many engineers by training and They do not have any kind of engineering degree. It has happened many times that people got killed in the field by operating our products.
Can big corporations Like Southern California Edison, Caterpillar, BP, and many more get sued by not hiring employees with engineering degree to work on their products and design???
