one car is moving east with constant velocity. another is moving west with constant velocity (they have the same mass). if they crash into one another, shouldn't the overall force be 0 (because of opposite directions)? so how is there a crash at all? why dont they come up unscathed if there's no force?

and what if they were moving with equal accelerations?

I'm writing my essay on the global issue of the animal cruelty of eating meat. So far, my essay has been pretty neutral, nothing too controversial. Do you think it'd be too radical to say that eating meat has a striking number of parallels to slavery. for example, arguments defending both included that they were innately inferior, it's the way of life, they don't know that it hurts them since they've been raised for it their entire lives, it is our liberty, and so on. i really do not want to come off as condescending or self-righteous. I never ever speak of my vegetarianism in person so I thought it'd be a healthy change to talk about it in my college admission essay. but they might think that it is all i speak about, as some vegetarians do. thank you in advance.

I donated blood 2 months ago and I just got a call from red cross saying that I have a rare component in my blood that only 2 percent of people have. And that this component is very useful for those with sickle cell disease. The lady I was talking to then asked me to donate blood again, which I agreed to, then we hung up. We hung up before I could ask more about the special blood type thing.

Anyone have any idea what "rare blood component" she was talking about? Does it mean I have the sickle cell trait? (Btw I'm African and I believe that has something to do with it)

I have an English project on different types of essays and my group and I got the "process essay" (basically an essay outlining the steps/actions readers need to take to achieve a desired outcome. aka, a how-to essay). We need to have examples of good and bad process essays. We found good ones easily but we're having trouble finding bad process essays on the internet. They can be student essays, from school help websites, pretty much anything. (But not too informal, like a blog, or too formal like a textbook).

Some characteristics of a not-so-good process essay:

-Assuming readers know what you're talking about, therefore skipping steps

-Failure to address the audience

-Bad grammar and punctuation (making the essay less coherent and more confusing)

-Lack of transitions or same transitions over and over again

-Boring, repetitive list type essay (First you do this. Then you do this. Then this. Then that)

-Not including why this process is relevant/useful in the introduction

-Using abbreviations without first writing it out (again, assuming the reader can knows what you're talking about)

Everytime I try to play the on-the-staff B-E notes (including flats/sharps), it plays it an octave higher. I've been playing for years, so no, I am not doing the wrong fingerings. It was literally working perfectly 5 minutes ago, but I bent down to write some notes on my music, then it's not working. I think I may have leaned on some keys or something. I don't know. Ideas?Please help. I'm freaking out. This is a $1000 Buffet instrument that belongs to my school. I already snapped a tenor sax screw in half WHILE it was still in the instrument.

This sounds really dumb, I know. I'm 15 and I used to be overweight but I lost weight last summer. Also I always poop once every 3 days and thought this was the norm until I found out today that you should poop everyday. I know a form of bulimia is taking laxatives to lose weight, so does that mean that the opposite would make you gain weight? I'm planning on taking some laxatives to fix the issue or go to the doctor. I'm simply curious if not pooping regularly can contribute to weight gain. Thanks in advance. :)
