  • Gas mask vs natural toxins?

I'm curious as to whether a typical NATO gas mask would be able to protect you in natural disasters such as the yellowstone caldera erupting and spewing unrelenting amounts of natural toxic gases into the air around it. I live in Denver, right on the edge of the toxic clouds reach apparently, and want to know if the NATO gas masks I already own would protect me from the airborne toxins and ash for time periods of at least an hour if not more or if they simply filter out weaponized agents like nerve agents, gases, and radioactive dust.

  • San Marino and the romans?

I have asked this before and only received answers stating that the roman empire was gone by the time of San Marino's foundation. However the foundation story of Marino states it was founded in the year 301 a.d., well within the years of the empire for those who will attempt to answer this question so no answers saying my question is invalid from someone who thinks they know and get basic dates wrong.

So the question is this, how did Christians manage to form an enclave in the roman heartland completely autonomous from Rome during the Christian persecutions. So again without saying I'm wrong because the Romans wernt around, is the foundation story a myth or if it's true how was San Marino able to maintain its independence from Rome? Geographic defenses can't be the reason as roman armies were able to think of ways to overcome any natural defense (I'm thinking of Masada). So is the foundation story a myth or based in fact and how did they maintain independence from the romans if the story is true.

P.S. The Roman empire, more specifically he western empire, lasted well into the 5th century so poser historians stop saying Rome wasn't around or you just make a fool of yourself. Rome was still in full command of itself at the time of Marino's supposed founding, so if you answer that your dead wrong. So someone who knows help me out.

  • San Marino foundation myth?

I was told that San Marino wasn't conquered by the Romans because the Romans were long gone by the time of San marino. The San Marino foundation myth states that the city was founded at the beginning of the 4th century, well within the timeline of the western roman empires. So which is it? I find it hard to believe the Romans in their Christian killing days would allow the christain enclave to exist within the roman heartland. Is the foundation a myth, or is there a reason the romans left them alone.

  • San Marino and the Romans ?

How did San Marino remain autonomous within the Italian peninsula so close to so many major roman cities? I know the foundation story and was curious as to why Emperor Decius would allow Christians be persecuted to flee within the very heartland of Roman authority. I am aware of the geographical features resulting in natural defenses for San Marino, but incredible defenses were not something that held the Romans at bay, i.e. the ramp Masada or Caesar encircling a walled Gaul city with a walled city of his own. Mu point is that Romans were able to conquer obstacles like San Marino's, so why would Decius, with his hatred of christians permitted a Christian enclave within the empire?
