Pain in hip, now skin is sensitive and itchy?
I'm 26 and I've had severe pain in my left hip for years. Some days are better than others, but on bad days my hip is really stiff and I get sharp stabbing pain when I walk. It will also hurt when I'm lying down and sometimes there is a lot of pressure along with the pain. My left leg is also turned out a little bit. When I walk, my right foot is straight and the left one is pointed a little left of center.
Now in the last month or two, the skin on my hip is very sensitive, like when you have a fever and your skin hurts to be touched. Sometimes it is also itchy. There is no swelling or redness and my skin is not warm to the touch, so I don't think it is infected.
Do these symptoms sound like anything specific? I've been getting cortisone injections once or twice a year but I don't want (and can't) do that forever. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
2 AnswersPain & Pain Management6 years agoWhere can I find women's shirts in a shorter length?
I've been trying to find some t-shirts for my mom, but she prefers a shorter length- about 20 inches. EVERY shirt I've come across so far has been around 25-26 inches, sometimes more. It doesn't even necessarily have to be a women's shirt. It just has to be about 20 inches in length and 20-21 inches at the chest.
Any advice on specific brands or websites would be greatly appreciated!
1 AnswerFashion & Accessories7 years agoHow do I get someone out of the break room?
I work in a small department of about 9 people and we have our own break room. Recently the janitor has started taking her breaks and lunch hours in the break room. I have nothing against her, but her presence makes us uncomfortable and keeps us from our normal conversations/activities. It is NOT a general break room for the building, but only for our employees.
We have tried several times to hint that she should maybe find another place to take breaks, but she either doesn't get it or doesn't care. I don't want to offend her, but I'm tired of sharing this space. How do I nicely make sure she gets the message?
8 AnswersEtiquette10 years agoSharp stabbing pains in vagina?
This is kind of embarrassing, but I have just started having these very sharp pains inside my vagina. It feels like someone is stabbing the inside, not inside the lips but deep inside the vaginal wall. The pain is very intense for a few seconds and then goes away. It also seems to more on the right side than the left. don't remember ever experiencing this before. My boyfriend and I had sex twice yesterday, but it wasn't particularly rough. He is sort of "gifted" and I'm wondering if he could've bruised me a bit. Has anyone had any pains like this? Should I be worried?
3 AnswersWomen's Health10 years agoHad this amazing dessert bar?
Someone bought in this awesome dessert bar to work. It was a 3 layer type thing- the first layer was a brownie, then another layer of a cream cheese sort of frosting, then a layer of what tasted like Chex cereal mixed with peanut butter and chocolate. It was so good. But the person that made it doesn't really work here, so I couldn't ask for the recipe. Does anyone have the recipe for this dessert? Thanks!
1 AnswerCooking & Recipes10 years agoI was a transgender child?
When I was a child, I had a very strong feeling that I was a boy inside. I remember feeling this first around the age 3-4. I lived my life as a boy- boy clothes/haircut, toys, even boy friends rather than girls. It wasn't just that I liked boy things- I felt very certain that I should have been a boy. I was disgusted by my female genitalia.
I was lucky that I had the most supportive family. I don't remember them ever asking why I wanted to be a boy or telling me that I shouldn't have those feelings. They never forced me to express myself as a girl. They just loved me and didn't seem to care what gender I wanted to be.
I had those feelings until I hit puberty, when I started to feel less and less male, started to feel much more feminine. I slowly started gravitating to female interests and expressions. By the time I was 12, I completely felt like a girl.
Now I'm 22, and very happy in my life as a heterosexual female. I've been with my boyfriend for six years, and I'm very happy to be a girl. My question is- has anyone heard of trans-children identifying differently later on? I don't want to say "growing out of it", because that seems like I'm saying it's just a phase for everyone, and that it's something that people SHOULD grow out of. I'm not saying that.
I just want to know if anyone has experienced this. Sometimes I wonder if, even though I didn't feel ashamed of myself as a child, I might have subconsciously forced myself into changing. I don't see how I could have felt something SO intensely and then feel completely different later on. Just asking for opinions or experiences.
3 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender10 years agoI just pierced my own lip?
Hey everybody. I just wanted to get some advice on my lip. I pierced it myself, and before everyone tells me I'm retarded: I have done my own piercings before and I used sterile equipment and methods to the best of my ability. My problem is that I had some trouble getting the jewelry in, so I'm afraid I stressed the tissue more than I wouldve liked. And it's been so long since I've been pierced that I can't remember what the recovery period is like. How long did it take for the swelling to go down on some of your piercings? And does anyone have any advice for a fresh piercing other than normal cleaning? If in the next couple of days I find that it's not making much progress healing, I will probably take it out and let it close instead of getting it horribly infected. But I'd like tp keep it. Any helpful advice would be great. No need to tell me it was stupid. I already know that.
4 AnswersOther - Skin & Body10 years agoWhat's wrong with Justin Beiber?
I'm not talking about his shitty music. A lot of people have shitty music and he isn't any worse than other terrible music. I really just don't understand how he is supposed to be like 17 and looks like he doesn't have one pubic hair. He doesn't seem nearly as developed as a healthy teenage boy should be. Does anyone else think he may not be as old as people say he is in order to appeal more to tweens? Or maybe he is being fed growth suppressing medicines so he can ride the tween train longer. I will accept even the most ridiculous theories.
6 AnswersCelebrities10 years agoIs this a yeast infection?
I'm 22 and I don't think I've ever had any vaginal infections. My boyfriend and I had sex Saturday and everything was normal, then Sunday night I started experiencing some itching. It wasn't terrible, so I didn't think anything of it. Then Monday morning it was pretty intense itching. I took a hot shower and washed myself well and that seemed to help a lot. I went all day without noticing much itching, just a little tenderness. I had my boyfriend look at it last night and he said it looked a little red and irritated right inside the lips. It itches, but I don't have much burning, no abnormal discharge or odor.
Is this a yeast infection or just irritation? Also does oral sex and/or using saliva as lube increase the chance of an infection? My boyfriend and I have been together (and faithful to each other) for five years and we have no STDs, so I know that isn't the problem. Any help is appreciated.
4 AnswersWomen's Health10 years agoHow to get rid of eye twitch?
I've been having a muscle spasm in my eye for about a week now. Throughout the day it will just randomly start twitching and it's really frustrating me. Other than muscle relaxants, is there any way to alleviate this problem? Also, is this a symptom of a condition that I should be worried about? I've had this problem in the past- not just my eye, but muscles in my back/legs/arms, etc. I hate the feeling and it's embarrassing. Any help is appreciated.
2 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoHow to stop ruining ear buds?
Hey everyone. I use my phone as a radio (using ear buds) at work about 5-6 hours every day. In the last couple of months I've been through at least two pairs of ear buds that just stop working. I think the problem is that I put my phone in my back pocket and the wire at the part that plugs in gets bent until it just stops working. The sound starts cutting in and out to the point that I can't use them anymore.
My question is how can I keep this from happening? I have a nice pair that I'd rather not ruin right away. And I don't have any other place I can put my phone that this doesn't happen. Any advice is appreciated.
1 AnswerMusic & Music Players1 decade agoWhat is a good inexpensive e-cigarette?
I bought a 21st Century disposable e-cigarette the other day just to try. I've never tried an e cigarette, so I didn't mind paying $10 to try it. My boyfriend and I ended up liking it, and used up the one I bought, but since it was "disposable", I can't put any replacement cartridges on it.
I would like to know if anyone has found a good, inexpensive e-cigarette. I really don't want to pay 70-100 dollars for this thing. I saw a $40 starter kit from 21st Century, but I'm wondering about the quality of their products. Has anyone tried and liked the non-disposable 21st Century e-cig? Or has anyone found a better one for a low(ish) price. I wouldn't mind paying up to $50 for one.
Please don't tell me not to get one (unless you've tried a bunch of them and have good reasons that I shouldn't buy them). I just don't want a smoking lecture. Any help on the subject of e-cigarettes would be extremely helpful. Thanks!
(I couldn't quite figure out where to put this question. But still, any help is greatly appreciated.)
2 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoHaving trouble peeing sometimes?
Hi I've been having this weird problem for a week or two now. Sometimes I have trouble peeing, as in, I have to pee and when I sit down, sometimes it takes a few minutes for me to be able to start peeing. I believe that might just be a side-effect of the medicine I'm taking. I'm not necessarily sure that it's a side-effect, but it could be.
Anyway, that's been going on for a while, but just in the last few weeks something else has started. I usually have to get up at least once at night to pee. Sometimes it's more than once, which I think is a little much since I really don't drink that much fluid before bed. But sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night, I feel like I have to pee and I can't go back to sleep until I do. Now I keep waking up, feeling like a have to pee, and when I go to the bathroom, it takes up to five minutes for me to be able to pee, and even then it is such a small amount of urine, probably less than an ounce. Such a small amount that I shouldn't have felt like I had to pee in the first place, but I might do that up to 3 times a night.
I really don't think this is any kind of infection. It doesn't hurt or burn at all. And it only happens at night. I'm a female, so I don't have a prostate, and I'm only 22 so I'm not sure what it could be.
Does anyone know anything about this problem? I just want to rule out any underlying, more serious issues. Thanks for your help.
2 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoPokemon Fire Red deleting save file?
I bought Pokemon Fire Red for Gameboy Advance about a year ago. it was a used cartridge from Amazon and played fine. I got pretty much all the way through the game, beat the Elite 4 and was on the islands when I went to turn it on and it said "Save file has been deleted". I was really upset that I had over 100 hours on it and couldn't get it back, but I hoped it was just a freak occurrence.
Then a month or two ago my boyfriend started playing it. Again, it worked fine, saved fine. He had gotten most of the way through the game (but not to the Elite 4 yet), when the same thing happened to him. He turned it on and the save file had been deleted. Yesterday I tried to start a new game and just get to the second town, and every time I saved, turned it off and then back on, the file had been deleted. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong, at least nothing that I wasn't doing when it was holding a save just fine before.
So my question is- are the Fire Red and Leaf Green games like the old Gameboy Pokemon cartridges in that maybe they have a battery that has run out? If I buy another cartridge, is there a chance that the same thing will happen again? I'm not expecting to fix it, I just want to know if I buy a new one if this could happen to that one as well. Thanks!
4 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoWhat DS games do I need?
I just got a used DS lite. I bought it because I was tired of playing the old school Gameboy Pokemon games, so I just bought Heart Gold. I want to know what other games I should look into, because I'm really picky. I don't like those cutesy kid games. I like games like Mario, Zelda and the Lego games. Does anyone have any suggestions for games I should look out for?
Also, if I've played Pokemon Blue/Yellow, Sapphire, and now Heart Gold, what is the next Pokemon game I should play to put them in order? (Even though I know I played them out of order)
Thanks!
3 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoLegendaries in Pokemon HG and SS?
I just bought Heart Gold and I'm about to get the 8th badge. I want to know if you can get both Ho-Oh and Lugia in both HG and SS, or if you can only get Ho-Oh in HG and Lugia in SS. I've heard people say both, and I don't want to get my hopes up in case I can only get Ho-Oh (in which case I'll be kicking myself wishing I had gotten Silver). Can anyone clear this up once and for all? Thanks!
6 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoCould this be serious?
The top of my foot has been really hurting for the past couple of days. After looking up my symptoms, I've concluded that it might be a stress fracture from exercising. It's not terrible pain like a regular broken bone, but it is painful to walk. The treatment on the site I read says to take anti-inflammatory medicine and rest. It doesn't say anything about seeing a doctor, but should I anyway? It's Friday and I don't know if I can get an appointment, and it really doesn't hurt that bad.
Now that I've been working for a while, and I walk a lot at work, I've noticed if I put the weight on the outside part of my foot, I get a really bad spasm of pain, and if I put the weight on the inside of my foot, the arch will hurt a little, but not nearly as bad. And if I sit down, it will still be hurting a bit. I'm not sure if it even is a stress fracture, it just fit closest to my symptoms. Does anyone have any ideas?

2 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoI have a lot of discharge?
have always had a lot of discharge at all times during the month. Sometimes it's not so bad, and then other times it looks like almost a teaspoon of thick, milky (almost pearly) white stuff. I'm on the pill, and I know that makes your mucus thicker, but does anyone else have this?
Because I've always had it and don't have any other symptoms, I'm assuming it's not an infection. But I'm just so tired of walking around with my underwear constantly wet. Is there a way to help this other than wearing pantyliners? Thanks.
5 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoStill not going to the bathroom?
This question is kind of embarrassing. For as long as I can remember (I'm 21), I have had really hard, dense stool. Usually about every 2-3 days, but it can be longer. I know most people aren't like that, but I figured since I've always been this way, that it was just my body's regular cycle. Most times when I feel like I have to go, I get really painful stomach cramps, which I thought was normal but now I'm wondering if it's not.
The past week or so, I've been going even less- less often and less of it. And it just doesn't seem like everything that's going in is coming out, for lack of better words. So I bought this Acai 14-day cleanse, which I thought would help me get everything out. I'm on day 3 of taking it, and eating more fiber, and drinking a lot of water and still nothing. The fiber is doing what it always does to me, which is give me really bad stomach cramps. I am drinking all of, if not more, of the 8-10 glasses of water daily. I don't know what else to do. What's wrong with me?
